Location: Homebased, based in the North West
The postholder will be expected to deliver face to face to face LifeSkills sessions within the North West, primarily but not exclusively in Greater Manchester. They will also be expected to travel occasionally to other areas of the country for meetings (eg team meetings).
Contract: Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2025, with potential to extend

About LifeSkills
The LifeSkills programme will offer groups of families the chance to come together to a trusted venue such as a children’s centre or community setting. As well as offering opportunities for families to spend quality time together and have access to healthy food, these sessions will offer LifeSkills workshops for parents and carers to build their confidence, social networks, financial and employability skills. Examples include but are not limited to overcoming setbacks, managing debt, boosting confidence to return to work, CV writing, interview skills. The aims of the LifeSkills programme are to support participants to increase their confidence and 21st century skills, move closer to training/volunteering/employment, improve their social networks, and grow their confidence to provide low cost and nutritious meals.
The role involves delivering LifeSkills sessions to groups of families in the Greater Manchester area. The postholder will also be the main point of contact for delivery partners hosting programmes (e.g. small charities, schools) and staff and volunteers delivering sessions, and be expected to respond promptly to a wide range of queries and requests for support. Examples might include, for instance, devising LifeSkills programmes for different cohorts, presenting to potential partners, devising risk assessments, recording data, and visiting and providing guidance and support for staff and volunteers delivering sessions in venues across the country.

Volunteer and Schools Engagement Coordinator
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented, motivated, and versatile Volunteer & Schools Engagement Coordinator based in Scotland.
Position: Volunteer and Schools Engagement Coordinator
Location: Home-based in Scotland, ideally Central Belt, with regular travel throughout Scotland

About the role:
The role is home-based and will involve travel throughout Scotland, including overnight stays, plus occasional travel to meetings elsewhere in the UK. There will be the occasional requirement to work evenings and weekends. Key responsibilities will include:
- Recruit Volunteer candidates through the delivery of inspiring presentations within schools, youth organisations and career fairs.
- Develop relationships with partner organisations within the education and youth sectors.
- Support and co-ordinate Returned Volunteers in the delivery of school talks.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Project Trust’s digital engagement and recruitment strategy.
- Participate in the selection, training, and debriefing of Volunteers.
- Administrative tasks associated with all the above.
- Within the job holder’s skills and abilities, support the Volunteer & Schools Engagement Manager and CEO as required in other tasks or activities which contribute to the achievement of Project Trust’s objectives and its development.
- Travel to attend meetings elsewhere in the UK, plus some weekend work required.

Essential Criteria:
- Commitment to Project Trust’s purpose, approach, and ethos.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload.
- Proven ability to deliver presentations to a range of stakeholders, including young people, with an ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Experience in working effectively with and developing young people in a variety of settings, e.g. schools, youth, and community groups.
- Ability to work autonomously on own initiative and as part of a remote, multi-disciplinary team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal, and ability to communicate with a range of audiences.
- Excellent customer service skills, with a commitment to providing outstanding service to Volunteers and third parties.
- Good judgement and decision-making skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft packages and a variety of social media platforms.
- Ability to travel within a designated region of the UK and to other parts of the UK as required.
- Ability to work remotely from a home base.
- A full clean driving license and use of a vehicle.
- The right to work in the UK.
About the organisation:
The employer is an education charity with over fifty years of experience in international volunteering for young people. They organise challenging, long-term placements for 17–25-year-olds with partnership organisations in Africa, Asia and the Americas.
They annually select up to 260 young people from across the UK for eight to 12-month teaching and youth development projects around the world. Role Overview:
The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) have an exciting opportunity for an Education Policy Specialist to join on a 9-month temporary basis.
At the RSC we embrace flexibility and offer hybrid working, which means our teams come together when they need to collaborate.
Although this role is contractually based at our Cambridge or London office, you will be able to work from home within the UK, with the expectation that you will attend the office as needed for your role.
The role:
• Working with teams across the RSC, you will be part of a team that works to influence education policy in the UK and Ireland. This includes community engagement and research to develop policy positions, as well as dissemination of our views (verbally and in writing) to policymakers and other stakeholders. You will engage with other staff, contractors and with partner organisations to influence education policy.
• The role will require occasional travel throughout the UK and Ireland, calling colleagues and contractors, meeting stakeholders and attending external events and meetings.
• In this role, it is expected that you will attend the office on an ad-hoc basis. If you need flexible working arrangements, please outline this in your application. This role may require occasional weekend and non-core working hours.
What we are looking for:
• Degree level or equivalent, ideally with a sound knowledge of chemistry.
