Senior Campaigns Operations Executive Jobs in Hoxton, Greater London
About Age UK London
Age UK London is a charity that campaigns for an age-friendly London. We campaign for specific changes to improve the lives of older Londoners and ensure that their experiences, needs and contributions are heard and taken into account by decision makers.
We do this in three ways:
· Core campaigns, through which we will secure specific, sustainable changes to the policies and practices of decision makers to improve the lives of older Londoners.
· Shaping the agenda, by ensuring that the experiences, needs and contributions of older Londoners are heard by decision makers and form part of the public discourse on the future of London.
· Supporting the London network of local Age UKs. An age-friendly city relies on both campaigning and direct service provision, so we support the network of local Age UKs in London who deliver vital front-line services.
Since becoming a charity focused solely on campaigning in 2019, Age UK London has adopted and implemented a new strategy. We have agreed campaign priorities; successfully changed policy at a London-wide and borough level; and adapted our finance, HR and IT systems to better support a campaigning charity.
Who we're looking for
We are looking for a candidate to cover our CEO’s maternity leave from the end of May 2024 until the middle of February 2025 to oversee the continued delivery of the charity's current strategy. This includes securing policy changes in our current campaign priority areas of digital inclusion, public toilet provision and poverty amongst older Londoners; supporting the development of new campaigns; and establishing systems to increase our financial sustainability.
To apply please submit a CV and a covering letter of no more than two sides outlining your interest in and suitability for the role.

Doorstep Library is a community-focused literacy charity dedicated to bringing the magic of books and the joy of reading directly into the homes of children who need our support. We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to head up our fundraising and marketing teams.
With one in four 11-year-olds leaving primary school unable to read or write properly, we recruit and train home and online reading volunteers to go into disadvantaged areas of London to help introduce young children (aged 0-11 years) to the pleasure and benefits of reading.
Our unique home-based service, whether in person or online, enables us to find the most appropriate books for every child we visit and build a relationship with the whole family. Our goal is to help children develop the self-confidence and essential skills they need to access all the opportunities that will come their way in life.
We also empower parents/carers to create and maintain a supportive environment by signposting them to local services and community support. Our projects not only improve literacy but also increase family wellbeing and bonding. Our tailored service enables us to help prepare children for school and broaden their opportunities in later life.
Our impact is long-lasting. For us, the ‘happy ever after’ is when we know the power of literacy and the joy of reading are helping a child change their own story for good. Every story shared is a story changed.

Citizens UK
Citizens UK is a people power alliance of diverse local communities working together for the common good. Our mission is to develop leaders, strengthen civic organisations and make change. Our 550 member communities are deeply rooted in their local areas and connect every day to the lives of hundreds of thousands of people. And it leads to some of the biggest campaign impacts in the UK, such as winning over £2 billion of wages through the UK Living Wage campaign, securing a legal cap on the cost of credit to control exploitative lending, and ending the detention of children for immigration purposes. With multiple offices across London, the role is hybrid but has a number of options to be as flexible as possible.
Main responsibilities of the role:
- Manage, lead and develop a team of 4 direct reports across finance, HR, estates and IT, ensuring high quality delivery across all areas.
- Oversee the production of accurate, timely and easy-to-understand financial reports on a monthly basis, as well as ensuring procedures are in place for annual budgeting and forecasting.
- Grow an excellent finance and ops team to match the expansion of the organisation, ensuring processes and policies also grow and are fit for purpose on a regular basis.
The successful candidate will:
- Be a qualified accountant with experience working in the not-for-profit sector or have experience working with charities from an audit perspective.
- Have drive and ambition, but they don’t necessarily need to have held a similar role beforehand. Someone stepping up into their first SLT role would be a great fit for the organisation.
- Understand and deliver on the need to take both a high-level strategic approach, as well as get their ‘hands dirty’ when the need arises.
- Have experience dealing with large and complex restricted funds, demonstrating understanding of how best to process and streamline these.
This is a great opportunity for an ambitious individual looking for a high impact role, with the ability to shape an organisation for years to come.

We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, particularly those who can face disadvantage in employment, such as people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ individuals and people with disabilities.
