Job description

Location: Homebased/Nationwide

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time, 35 Hours Per Week

Salary: £47,736 to £50,388 per annum

Would you like to be the part of the driving force behind one of the UK’s most cherished traditions, the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal?

Skilled at customer / supporter journeys? Experienced at driving recruitment / acquisition campaigns?

c52,000 people volunteered for the Poppy Appeal last year. It’s the largest UK charity appeal (c£50 million), and a treasured moment in society each November where people are given the opportunity to remember. Volunteers are the lifeblood of the appeal, without them there would be no poppies out on the streets and supermarkets.

This role will:

- Strategically manage and deliver the volunteer experience, maximising engagement and minimising attrition through a best-in-class volunteer journey

- Drive recruitment campaigns to find more volunteers, ensuring full national coverage

- Find easier ways for people to give time, developing audience led propositions that work to engage more people from diverse backgrounds

Your experience of acquisition and engagement strategies has the ability to transform the appeal. Join our ambitious, forward thinking team, with a passion for the poppy and growing and nurturing our incredibly committed volunteers.

Come and be part of the leading Armed Forces charity, making a difference to the lives of those who have served to keep us safe and protect our way of life.

Here, innovation meets tradition as you lead the charge in transforming how we recruit and retain volunteers. You'll be the engineer of change, designing strategies that not only attract but empower our volunteers, ensuring their journey is as rewarding as the cause they serve. Collaborating with a team driven by purpose, you'll leverage cutting-edge data analytics to fine-tune our approaches, maximising engagement and fundraising impact.

Beyond the numbers lies the main part of our mission – recognition and appreciation. As the torchbearer of gratitude, you'll champion initiatives that celebrate the selflessness of our volunteers, promoting a culture where every effort is cherished. Overseeing of support systems, orchestrating the care that nurtures our volunteers, ensuring they feel valued every step of the way.

In this role, you're not just a manager – you're a steward of remembrance, entrusted with the legacy of honoring those who've sacrificed for our nation. Your canvas expands beyond strategy to encompass the very essence of resilience and unity, as you collaborate with stakeholders to shape the future of remembrance. If you're driven by purpose, fueled by passion, and ready to leave a lasting imprint on the fabric of history, join us in our mission of resilience and remembrance.

Here at RBL, we aim to support our people and their wellbeing, with a package including generous paid holiday allowance and pension scheme contributions, and a range of optional benefits and discounts.

You will be expected to travel regularly in the course of your work. You will be contracted to your home address, where you will be expected to work – using our collaboration tools – when not travelling.

For more detailed information about the role, please see our Vacancy Information Pack attached to our direct advert.

RBL is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive organisation, reflecting the diversity of the armed forces community and of wider society. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and personal characteristics.
