Purpose of the Senior Community Fundraising Officer role:   

As Senior Community Fundraising Officer, the successful candidate will play an integral role in overseeing all income generation via community fundraising. The purpose of this post is to feed into strategy, providing guidance and direction to ensure that Community Fundraising continues to grow as an area of income and that all Community Fundraisers receive high-quality support and stewardship.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Community Fundraising Officer: 

• Line-managing, leading and supporting a team of 2 Community Fundraising Officers

• Developing and maintaining a strong network of working relationships with individual fundraisers and supporters. 

• Taking responsibility for income generation from various sources including: 

  • physical fundraising challenges 
  • non-physical fundraising events 
  • educational institutions 
  • community groups 
  • celebration fundraising (e.g. birthdays and weddings) 

• Ensuring oversight of Women’s Aid’s annual flagship fundraising event, the 1.7 Challenge, and any other mass fundraising events. 

What we are looking for in our Senior Community Fundraising Officer: 

• At least 2 years’ experience of working in a professional fundraising role. 

• Experience of managing a portfolio of fundraising events for community fundraising. 

• Experience of working within a team and individually to achieve success; meeting or exceeding your financial targets. 

• Demonstrable experience of initiating cross-team working to achieve financial goals. 

• Experience of using a CRM database, such as Raiser’s Edge, Access Charity CRM, or Sales Force, to target and segment supporters. 

• Any experience of developing fundraising strategies for working with educational institutions, community fundraisers and faith groups is also desirable. 

• Ability to carry out thorough research to keep-up-to date with new fundraising opportunities. 

• Experience of managing a team. 

• Experience of maintaining and reporting against budgets and feeding into the teams KPI’s. 

• Excellent computer skills and experience using a wide range of computer packages, including Microsoft packages. 

• Excellent interpersonal, creative thinking and problem-solving skills. 

• Understanding of the role of Women’s Aid, of domestic abuse and the issues relating including the impacts on women and children.

The Community Fundraiser plays a vital role in fostering and expanding our network of individual givers and community fundraisers. The position is responsible for:

• Developing and managing relationships with our supporters.
• Signing SafeLives up to a programme of fundraising events.
• Maintaining and growing our supporter base.
• Responding to fundraising opportunities from individuals and corporates.

We will occasionally require you to support with organising events for our high-net-worth individuals. The role is managed by our Trusts and Grants Manager. It was a new role in 2022 and the successful candidate will build on the foundations that have been set over the last year and a half.

The ideal candidate will bring creativity and proactivity to the role – thinking outside the box and finding new ways to grow our supporter base and market our opportunities. You will be the perfect balance of engaging and motivational and a rigorous planning coordinator with exceptional attention to detail. You will help us reach new supporters, through events and fundraising, and communicate our key messages in a way that encourages people to support our work.

The person

We are looking for a part time experienced Trusts fundraiser, to focus on larger trusts and foundations to join a growing fundraising team for an incredible LGBTQ+ organisation. This role is for 21.36 hrs p/w (3 days), and looking for one day a week in the London office.

Enact have a vacancy for a Senior Youth and Community Worker to lead our open-access community youth provision.  We are looking for an experienced youth practitioner to manage our youth team and work within the enact team to develop a range of engaging activities and training opportunities for young people with particular focus on those aged 10 to 19 in the Enfield community. 

The Senior Youth and Community Worker needs to be a passionate, enthusiastic and professional. They will lead the youth team to create community-based opportunities for the whole family, in accordance with the ethos and values of Oasis. The Senior Youth worker will also support the enact team to develop and be involved in community cohesion projects involving children, families and youth.

We’re looking for an experienced individual to join our Philanthropy & Partnerships team as Senior Stewardship and Events Officer. You will join us working 31.5 hours per week on a permanent basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary of up to £34,376.31 per annum plus excellent benefits.

This role sits in our brand-new Philanthropy and Partnership’s Prospect Research and Engagement team.  This team will be responsible for ensuring direct fundraisers are equipped to make compelling asks and steward donors. This role will help drive growth and sustainability of high value giving by creating a donor stewardship strategy and delivery framework that provides a range of relevant, impactful and high-quality stewardship communications, events and other meaningful opportunities that build loyalty and connection with Cats Protection. As part of this the role will deliver large-scale special events as well as develop and deliver a programme of bespoke private events that help encourage greater levels of support and long-term relationships.

What we’re looking for in our Senior Stewardship & Events Officer:

• Extensive experience of high value fundraising event creation and management and associated evaluation
• Experience of high value donor stewardship and relationship development
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability and inclination to work collaboratively
• Creative thinker with scrupulous attention to detail

Having already raised £9.9 million for our Up Against Time Appeal, London’s Air Ambulance Charity is currently in the final phase of our campaign to raise £15million by September 2024 to replace our two helicopters. With six months to go, the team are now looking at the opportunities presented by the new 15 year organisational strategy.

The postholder will provide the programme with the stability, expertise and guidance needed to steer the Major Donor team through the first year of a new strateg. They will also be LAAC’s expert on Major Donor fundraising during this time, developing and inspiring the team to be ambitious and results focused to ensure targets and objectives are met. The role is perfect for someone looking to invest in their leadership skills, whilst working in a high-performance environment.

You will be an experienced major donor fundraiser, looking to develop their leadership skills. You will need to be confident, ambitious and results-focussed, working closely with a dynamic team to make the most out of every opportunity offered. You will possess outstanding oral and written communication and influencing skills, and will have the presence, gravitas and sensitivity to operate effectively at all levels.
