As an EPRM you will be a key contributor to the regional strategy working very much in a one team environment whilst giving you the space to grow and develop your skills. Your role as EPRM will see you work directly with young people and teachers in schools that take part in Young Enterprise programmes such as company programme, day programmes and digital programmes. You will also oversee regional relationships, at local authority level or equivalent.

The EPRM role involves being flexible to the needs of the region and your team and to provide regional leadership. Some of the duties include, which is not an exhaustive list

• Deliver and or support the delivery of Young Enterprise programmes and services in schools, colleges, universities, and youth centres
• Work as part of the regional team to proactively identify and generate sources of local income to support YE programmes.
• Manage and monitor KPIs and local contracts associated with the above tasks through the regional operations plan set out by the Regional Manager.
• Work with the local YE Volunteer Team (LVT), providing support, direction and opportunities to engage with local activity, which may include fundraising, volunteering on programmes and / or promoting our programmes to new school
• Work closely with Programmes & Services team to support the development and delivery of our full suite of programmes, while also developing your own knowledge and understanding of our full suite of programmes and services to promote to schools.

About the role 

You’ll bring expert knowledge of Parkinson’s pathophysiology, pharmacology and therapeutics development to all our VB activities. These include primarily the sourcing and evaluation of new project proposals, and then the funding and management of the most promising ones. You will liaise extensively with the Parkinson’s community and external partners, and maintain up to date knowledge in the field. 

With your years of preclinical disease-area expertise you will work alongside your colleagues with backgrounds in medicinal chemistry and biological aspects of drug discovery, clinical research and biotech finance.

What you’ll do:

• Provide expert knowledge of Parkinson’s pathophysiology, in vitro and in vivo models of aspects of Parkinson’s and neurodegeneration, to all our activities.

• Solicit external proposals for new projects and develop internal project proposals, and bring new initiatives and working practices to the Virtual Biotech, as appropriate

• Critically review the target validation and preclinical pharmacology aspects of internal and external project proposals

• Participate in joint steering committees and other advisory meetings, providing expert scientific and strategic insight

• Interact with people with Parkinson’s and involve them in projects in order to increase the opportunities to deliver new drugs that meet unmet medical needs

What you’ll bring:

• Widely respected expertise in the study of Parkinson’s pathophysiology and preclinical pharmacology with at least 8 years post-doctorate experience in the field, and a track record of proposing new projects and securing the required funding

• Doctoral degree in a relevant discipline (Ph.D., M.D., D.Phil.)

• Familiarity with small molecule drug discovery principles and practices including use of Parkinson’s disease models

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in suitable formats, including project proposals/reports, for both scientific and lay audiences

• Significant experience in project management and leadership skills from initiation to completion/review, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams

Purpose of the Senior Communications Officer role:   

As Senior Communications Officer, the successful candidate will be a creative, agile and impactful professional, who will play a pivotal role in shaping Women’s Aid’s communications campaigns, working closely with the Communications Manager and the Head of Media, Brand and Relationships. Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Communications Officer: 

• To be the key communications officer representing the communications team, developing the key messaging of external campaigns, brand-building and communications for the organisation and developing public awareness of these.

• To lead on planning, drafting and implementing a communications plan for Women’s Aid key communications campaigns such as International Women’s Day, 16 Days, as well as wider organisational projects, incorporating press and social media and providing media support as required. 

• To develop relevant media and social media contacts, as well as contacts in the sector, to maximise the reach and coverage of key communications campaigns as well as wider organisational projects. 

• To work with colleagues to ensure the campaigns take an intersectional approach and centres the most marginalised voices. 

• To work with a diverse range of survivor case studies and media spokespeople, including Women’s Aid member organisations, and to ensure they are treated in an appropriate and safe manner.

What we are looking for in our Senior Communications Officer: 

• At least two years experience working in communications/journalism/publications or similar. 

• Experience of liaising with a variety of individuals and organisations of all seniorities, internally and externally. 

• Experience of maintaining systems for information storage and retrieval.

• Experience of online communications/websites/social media, including Content Management Systems. 

• Experience delivering public-facing campaigns with a range of stakeholders. 

• Experience in getting effective PR results.

About the role

As the Corporate Partnerships Senior Officer, you will lead on securing new six figure multi-year corporate partnerships. We're looking for a Senior Project Officer, to work in our Innovation and Practice team and support exemplary, agile project management across Involve. 

This is an exciting time to join the Involve team. Alongside increasing public and political interest in our approaches, we are increasing the size and impact of our project work. We have a couple of new multifaceted projects which need really effective and agile project management. As a Senior Project Officer you will contribute to all aspects of our delivery, with a particular focus on project and programme management of larger projects. Your main focus will be on:

• Project management and delivery - core project management and logistics, running onboarding for participants, event management, analysis and reporting, and facilitation

• Building our project management approach further - supporting Involve to build our project management capacity and resources that are appropriate for our creative, inclusive processes and culture

• Project and programme design - working with project teams to design entire projects and processes which use deliberative, qualitative and participatory methods

• Project impact - recording and monitoring how our projects work, the kinds of impacts they have, and the ways they contribute to Involve’s mission. 

This Senior Project Officer role sits in our Innovation and Practice Function. Our team’s daily work includes setting up, managing, designing, delivering and reporting on a wide range of participatory and deliberative processes, ranging from small scale, hyper-local community engagements to large, national, multi-event Citizens’ Assemblies and longer term projects. Our processes can be face to face, hybrid, or online, and often involve bringing together different groups from within the public with interested parties and experts from across government, business , academia and civil society.

In addition, you would work closely with our Capacity Building and Standards team to support their work helping others to deliver these approaches and contribute to our communications and advocacy work. You will also support fundraising for grants and projects, responding to tenders and writing proposals and building relationships with our funders, collaborators and clients. 

We are looking for an excellent project manager, able to manage fairly large projects and task manage others at all levels to ensure smooth delivery. You will be great at managing relationships at all levels and working with others to get things done. Given the nature of our work we are also looking for public participation skills, or relevant or transferable expertise and an understanding of deliberative practice. That will enable you to design and deliver project management, and support facilitation that fits our work and enables you to contribute to advising our clients on designing and delivering effective engagement. It is critical that you are open to new ideas, a good team player, committed to shifting power and addressing inequities in our society and that you are passionate about furthering our vision. Experience of building project management capacity, fundraising and staff management is desirable. 

Salary band: £38,975 - £43,584

Who are Women’s Aid?   

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. Purpose of the Senior Media Relations Officer role:   

As Senior Media Relations Officer, the successful candidate will play an integral role in all proactive and reactive media, working closely with the Communications Manager and the Head of Media, Brand and Relationships. This role is intrinsic to the running of Women’s Aid’s fast-paced press office, influencing, responding to and driving the media agenda on domestic abuse and violence against women and girls. You’ll be joining us at an exciting time, as we mark our 50th Birthday with some powerful campaigns and engagement. 

Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Media Relations Officer: 

• To be the first point of contact for media and publicity enquiries, cultivating excellent media relationships 

• To be part of the out-of-hours on call rota for media enquiries. 

• To help identify media opportunities and to maximise positive media coverage for Women’s Aid. 

• To employ extensive horizon-scanning and support on any media crisis communications. 

• To produce press releases, statements and other promotional copy for Women’s Aid. 

• To develop pitches and news stories in collaboration with other departments. 

• To lead on media briefings that convey appropriate key messages and thoroughly prepare Women’s Aid spokespeople. 

• To identify and interview case studies and media spokespeople and to ensure they are treated in an appropriate and safe manner. 

• To work on Women’s Aid internal and external campaigns, providing media support as required.

• To manage our media database and monitoring systems to ensure we are effectively tracking and benchmarking coverage, as well as having robust systems in place to distribute media 

What we are looking for in our Senior Media Relations Officer: 

• At least 2 years’ professional experience of working in journalism, PR or similar. 

• Demonstrated history of achieving significant proactive and reactive media coverage.

• Experience of working with the national press. 

• Experience of responding at speed to breaking news and reactive requests to leverage coverage. 

• Experience of adapting to the changing media landscape. 

• Experience of using media monitoring and delivery platforms. 

• Experience of briefing senior internal and external figures to convey organisational messages. 

• Experience of using a range of computer packages, particularly Microsoft Office packages.

• Experience of online communications, including uploading copy to websites, and using social media.

• A basic understanding of, and sensitivity to, the issues relating to domestic abuse, including the nature of domestic abuse and its impact on women and children.

• Understanding of local and regional news structures and hierarchies within them. 

• Able to demonstrate a commitment and sensitivity of the aims and objectives of Women’s Aid

We are looking for someone who shares our values and is passionate about improving life for both people and nature in Sussex, especially in disadvantaged communities.

Working closely with a committed and extensive team of volunteers and paid staff, and with the support of an established and engaged board of Trustees, you will be steering the work on our vision and leading the team to deliver it.

As the leader of a relatively small charity, you will be engaged with many operational aspects of the organisation.

Taking on the stewardship of the new plot of land will be one of the priorities in the first year.

You will be managing our annual income of around £200K, our part-time managers (admin; orchard planting, scrumping, courses and sites) plus a team of 25 workers and key volunteers engaged in ongoing roles.

Hours can be worked flexibly, though you will need to attend in-person meetings, events and site visits, including some weekends and evenings. We have a kitchen and barn at Stanmer Park, but not an office. All desk work and online meetings will need to be done remotely using your own equipment.

Key responsibilities:

· Figurehead and ambassador for the organisation. Willing to be available for interviews and talks.

· Decision maker. Brighton Permaculture Trust has always been a collaborative organisation. There will be times when quick or difficult decisions are needed.

· Setting budgets and monitoring finances. Draft budgets for our financial year July 2024 to June 2025 are in place.

· Writing/assisting with funding bids. 

· Formal reporting to the Trustees quarterly, plus monthly opportunities to meet with the Trustees for support, collaboration and feedback.

· Leading monthly meetings with the operational managers. Operational managers cover each key area: Scrumped in Sussex, Community Orchards, Brighton Permaculture Trust Sites, Courses & Events and Admin/Compliance.

· One-to-one meetings with operational managers, key contractors and volunteers as required. These can be online or on-site.

· Supporting the wider team to agree on SMART targets for each project and deliver on our strategic goals.

· Attending Brighton Permaculture Trust Apple Days events (3 per year).

· Being the main point of contact for key relationships, including major donors, funders, partner organisations and Brighton & Hove City Council.

· Presenting our year’s achievements to the members at our AGM.

· Line management of 3-5 operational managers as these roles move to long-term contracts

· Representing the Trust at assorted, infrequent external meetings and events would be desirable and require some flexibility in days/times worked.

Main Purpose of the Post

This post will play a key role in ensuring that Women's Aid continues to be recognised and respected for the survivor-centred expert voice on domestic abuse, with a particular lead on amplifying the voices of our member services. In particular, the post holder will be responsible for delivering an organisation-wide local influencing strategy and lead on other areas of strategic policy focus.

The post holder will work closely with the Policy and Membership teams to ensure that Women’s Aid responds effectively to the implementation of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, the Health and Social Care Act, and Victim and Prisoners Bill. The role will be responsible for building sustainable relationships and influence with key local stakeholders across England, including local authorities, commissioners, and Women’s Aid member services.

You will: provide line management to the Policy & Practice part of the Policy team; ensure that the public, stakeholders, Women’s Aid’s member services and staff are supported with policy expertise on a range of areas; champion best commissioning practice; coordinate policy responses to government and other agencies; and work with senior leaders across the organisation to ensure that Women’s Aid and its members are equipped to seize key policy opportunities. The post holder will seek to ensure that Women’s Aid has a robust local network across England and a long-term strategy for influence.
