As the Senior Individual Giving Officer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the successful delivery of this programme. You will work closely with the Individual Giving & Legacies Manager, leading on a variety of campaigns across Individual Giving. Delivering and developing campaigns and appeals across cash, regular giving, payroll giving and legacies, using channels such as digital, direct mail, DRTV and direct dialogue.
Key responsibilities
- With the Individual Giving & Legacies Manager, develop the IG marketing plan, making recommendations to meet strategic goal.
- Deliver the activity plan considering learnings and recommendations, in line with the wider Income and Engagement Strategy.
- Ensure campaigns are delivered on time and to budget across a variety of channels, adhering to brand guidelines.
- Develop creatives for campaigns with internal and agency support to increase response rates and growing income.
- Ensure a test and learn approach to build solid foundations on which to grow the programme.
- Regularly monitor the performance of campaigns and activities and report weekly against agreed KPIs.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Communications Officer:

To be the key communications officer representing the communications team, developing the key messaging of external campaigns, brand-building and communications for the organisation and developing public awareness of these.

To lead on planning, drafting and implementing a communications plan for Women’s Aid key communications campaigns such as International Women’s Day, 16 Days, as well as wider organisational projects, incorporating press and social media and providing media support as required.

To develop relevant media and social media contacts, as well as contacts in the sector, to maximise the reach and coverage of key communications campaigns as well as wider organisational projects.

To work with colleagues to ensure the campaigns take an intersectional approach and centres the most marginalised voices.

At least two years experience working in communications/journalism/publications or similar.

This Senior Project Officer role sits in our Innovation and Practice Function. Our team’s daily work includes setting up, managing, designing, delivering and reporting on a wide range of participatory and deliberative processes, ranging from small scale, hyper-local community engagements to large, national, multi-event Citizens’ Assemblies and longer term projects. You will be great at managing relationships at all levels and working with others to get things done. Given the nature of our work we are also looking for public participation skills, or relevant or transferable expertise and an understanding of deliberative practice. That will enable you to design and deliver project management, and support facilitation that fits our work and enables you to contribute to advising our clients on designing and delivering effective engagement. It is critical that you are open to new ideas, a good team player, committed to shifting power and addressing inequities in our society and that you are passionate about furthering our vision. Experience of building project management capacity, fundraising and staff management is desirable.

With support from the Farm’s Director, who is an experienced fundraiser, you will develop and implement the fundraising strategy for the Farm, leading on the delivery of key activities, initiatives and opportunities.
You will confidently take on the leadership of the Farm’s well-established fundraising from trusts and foundations, growing our unrestricted income base and attracting multi-year funding to support our projects. Your experience will also enable you to take the lead on establishing a new individual giving programme for the Farm, creating and implementing a stewardship strategy alongside the Marketing, Events & Communications Operational Manager. We anticipate that the postholder will spend 75% of their time managing and growing our existing trusts and foundations portfolio and 25% on building a new individual giving programme. We are looking for someone with experience (or demonstrable transferable skills and knowledge) and a willingness to work on both areas.
As a member of the Farm’s Leadership Team, you will work closely with the Director and Operational Managers to ensure that our fundraising strategy enables us to deliver against our objectives, as well as supporting project managers and other staff to contribute to the development of relevant fundraising opportunities.

This role is part of our peer support services team and will be responsible for supporting our online peer support communities, including our forum and Facebook groups.
The post holder will work directly with the Peer Support Manager and the Senior Online Communities Officer, as well as with colleagues from across the charity to develop our online communities, helping us to reach and support more people affected by bowel cancer and those concerned about symptoms, risk and pre-diagnosis.
