As our Senior Operations Officer, working closely with the Head of Operations, you will play a vital role in the smooth running of our organisational operations. The remit of the role covers a wide range of functions including senior officer responsibility for ICT systems, office management, building management, and also contributing to Quartet’s strategy in response to carbon reductions and equality, diversity and inclusion.
The ideal candidate for this role will have previous relevant ICT experience, operational experience of supporting a team in an office environment – preferably for a charity or not for profit organisation – and will have the necessary skills to work both practically and professionally with staff and trustees, tenants, and other third parties to deliver the best possible operational delivery across Quartet’s varied services.

This is a new role for the Circuit, replacing a volunteer. In designing the position, the Circuit has aimed for maximum flexibility to secure the best candidate for the role. Initially, the person will need physically to attend some meetings to familiarise themselves with the Circuit's operations and ensure a smooth hand-over. For the right person, though, there will be considerable flexibility about how the duties are fulfilled in the longer-term. The Richmond & Hounslow Circuit comprises seven churches in southwest London. As with all Methodist circuits, these churches function autonomously yet collaborate closely in their ministry and mission efforts. The Circuit oversees joint resources, including staff and property. As a part of the Methodist Church, its mission is “to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission”. This Senior Project Officer role sits in our Innovation and Practice Function. You will co-ordinate and attend fundraising events and ensure that young people are at the centre of all of our fundraising efforts. We also have two regular team office days per week.
You will be leading on our biggest fundraiser of the year, Sleep Out. Through this and other events, and guided by our fundraising strategy, you will develop new and existing relationships. These relationships will help raise vital funds and also secure valuable pro-bono and volunteering support.
You will be comfortable managing a varying workload and working with a wide range of people both internally and externally. By meeting people in person and attending events throughout the year, you will build support and champion the work that we do.
You will be detail orientated in your delivery and be driven to produce high quality events and fundraising communications.
This is a full-time role, and flexible working is supported.

What you will be doing:
- Delivering a range of fundraising campaigns.
- Building strong relationships with businesses, individuals and community groups through regular meetings with key partners.
- Bringing creativity to the fundraising strategy!
- Working with our Communications and Marketing Officer to deliver an effective marketing campaign for all fundraising activities.
- Identifying meaningful volunteering opportunities for supporters.
- Ensuring the Customer Relationship system (CRM) is up to date.
You will be in the Funding and Communications Team and your line manager will be Katy Greenlaw, Communications and Community Fundraising Manager.

- The location: You will be based in Kingsley Hall, in Old Market, close to Bristol’s main train and bus stations as well as the vibrant city centre. There is also flexibility and support to manage working from home.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities
- Create and edit compelling and innovative social media content optimised against a range of objectives, including the production of graphics and video
- Work closely with cross-directorate teams to develop and implement impactful social campaign strategies, ensuring appropriate messaging and content for specific audiences, channels and placements
- Provide full community management across channels on a rota
- Work with people living with dementia to champion their voices through powerful storytelling
- Support the Senior Social Media Manager to embed social media strategy
- Develop and deliver guidance and training to colleagues across all areas relevant to successful social activity, ensuring information is easy to understand for a non-digital audience
- Run paid social activity aligning with strategic team objectives and manage associated budgets
- Use analytics tools to report back on the performance of day-to-day and campaign-focused social activity, making recommendations to address gaps and optimise performance
- Identify trends and develop insights into user activity from relevant data sources to inform our ongoing approach
- Manage projects as directed by the Senior Social Media Manager
- Undertake other tasks as needed to ensure the successful running of our social activity
About you
- Knowledge and experience on creating channel and audience-specific content that maximises user engagement.
- Ability to spot trends and opportunities to ensure we stand out from the crowd.
- You’ll be confident in creating a range of impactful visual assets (graphics, video, photo), and really understand how to get the best results in each placement.
- You’ll be a great communicator with the ability to tell a great story via social content, adept at writing engaging copy, but also able to manage sensitive conversations on social.
