Responsibilities and Person Specification:
This role will form an integral part of our three person Policy and Public Affairs team based in Scotland, working as part of a UK-wide Policy and Influencing team. The role will drive forward our policy projects to reduce poverty in later life, conducting expert research and policy analysis and turning this into persuasive evidence to catch the attention of decision makers and persuaders. The postholder will create opportunities to amplify the voices of older people in poverty and work to secure support for our policy recommendations in Holyrood.
You will have strong research skills with experience of turning quantitative and qualitative data into high quality, persuasive policy outputs. You will have experience developing credible, evidence-based policy solutions, informed by the perspectives and insights of people with lived experience.
You will be a skilled verbal and written communicator with the ability to engage different audiences. You will build strategic relationships with a variety of stakeholders to advance the solutions needed to address poverty in later life, using your knowledge of the political landscape in Scotland and passion for our cause.

This Learning, Monitoring and Evaluation (LME) Specialist is a key role for AmplifyChange. The person is responsible for measuring the impact of AmplifyChange’s work for internal and external use. The LME Specialist works closely with the senior management team, across AmplifyChange teams and with external consultants on implementing and contributing to the learning, monitoring and evaluation aspects of our strategy. The LME Specialist will have the skills to measure the impact of advocacy work of sexual and reproductive health and rights - both long-term impact and intermediate outcomes. The role has responsibility for preparing monitoring and impact reports for AmplifyChange’s leadership team, board and external stakeholders. The postholder will prepare, analyse and approve the organisation’s regular use of high-quality data – both qualitative and quantitative - and support grantee partners’ reporting processes. The role plays an important part in monitoring the overall grants portfolio and informing the learning agenda of AmplifyChange. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitoring the impact of AmplifyChange
• Producing a range of regular reports based on data analysis including on AmplifyChange metrics and results framework across our three delivery streams (which are grant making, organisational strengthening and building mutual support in the movement), as well as case studies from the grants portfolio
• Developing and monitoring the results framework for the strategy for 2026-2030
• Analysing indicators, milestones, and other quantitative and qualitative data collected from grantee partners. Compiling data and generating aggregate results for internal and external purposes as needed

Main purpose and scope of the role:
Parentkind is a national charity and we work across all four nations of the United Kingdom and the devolved institutions and governments.
The successful candidate would be expected to support our work in Northern Ireland and have demonstrable experience of the political system in Northern Ireland.
In addition to their work in Northern Ireland the successful candidate will support the wider aims of the Policy and Research Department across the UK.
We are the voice of parents in education, we represent 13,000 Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) and have an ambition to develop an internal parent ‘think tank’ within the organisation.
This is an exciting role if you have a passion for politics, a background in policy research and interested in education policy and politics.
The role will involve conducting research on education policy and making policy recommendations based on that research. Some research will be time sensitive and involve summarising information and presenting it in an easy to understand way. There will be longer research projects to support the charity to develop policy positions and maintain our position as a strong voice for parents in education.
Alongside the research requirements of the role, you will be expected to support our political and broader stakeholder engagement activity to make sure the work we do is understood and seen by the right people.

In 2023 we launched the National Education Nature Park - a Department for Education funded programme empowering young people to take action on the environment as part of new measures designed to put climate change and sustainability at the heart of education. This is a GLA funded role as part of the wider DfE funded programme.
As Senior Programme Officer you will build and access networks that support education settings to connect with nature through the programme, and build skills for engaging and influencing nature on their estate. The Senior Programme Officer will also manage a programme officer to enable a broad range of schools and education settings to participate in the programme. As a regional team you will work to establish widespread, meaningful and sustained engagement with the programme.
Reporting to the Nature Park Senior Programme and Partnerships Manager, you will map schools in the London region to identify priority areas, and connect with senior school leaders across the region to engage them with the programme. You will develop partnerships and networks at a regional level with local authorities, businesses, and organisations in the education and charity sectors to provide additional support for schools and help sustain them on their Nature Park journey. You will work with the central programme team and partnership to build support systems for schools and settings that address barriers to participation, which may involve training and tapping in to existing volunteer networks and running events.
We are looking for a collaborative, creative individual with a passion for plants and the environment; someone who is experienced at partnership development and with a proven track record in project management.
You will work within a multidisciplinary project group including partners and colleagues with specialist scientific and community engagement knowledge and skills. Building and sustaining effective collaboration will be key to success in this role. You will be a confident communicator and listener with excellent planning and organisational skills. Our Bid Writers coordinate the organisation’s response to all tenders. This includes re-tendering for our existing services as well as responding to tenders for services in new areas, or new services in our existing areas.

· Take ownership of the bid response, style and format and overseeing it through the production process.

Job Purpose and Background Summary
Half of CDP’s income comes through philanthropic and statutory funding. In the first half of 2024, we have an ambitious pipeline of institutional tenders and proposals to deliver on, and we are looking to appoint an additional fixed-term Senior Development Manager to help us deliver on this pipeline and secure funding for our mission. About the Institutional Funding Team
Our seven-member team leads all aspects of pre-award project management, from opportunity prospecting through to contract signature. We already have a strong track-record delivering annual seven-figure income targets. We now plan to triple our income in the coming years, working with stakeholders including the governments of the United States, Germany, the UK, Norway, the Netherlands, and the European Union, as well as the Global Environment Facility, the United Nations and development finance institutions such as the African and Asian Development Banks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Rapidly develop a working knowledge of CDP’s work, liaising with colleagues to prepare and present high-quality information such as tailored presentations and proposals for donors.
- Lead or supervise the development of institutional funding tenders and proposals, working with colleagues from technical, finance, compliance and monitoring and evaluation departments. In this period, this will specifically include several grant and commercial contract funding opportunities with the UK, US and German governments, and the European Commission.
- Generate and identify funding leads to contribute to the global institutional funding pipeline.
- Work with other development teams, including Philanthropy and Grants Management to develop and implement efficient, effective processes to improve ways of working between teams.

Essential criteria:
- Ability to hit the ground running, rapidly becoming familiar with organization’s processes, writing style, and strategy.
- Proven ability to lead complex, high value tenders or proposals to institutional donors such as USAID, the European Commission, the FCDO, BMZ or others.
