The purpose of the role

About the role
Reporting to the Director, Finance and Operations, the role of Senior Officer, Finance and Operations plays an important role in supporting the seamless functioning of both the HSI/UK and HSI/EU teams while also working closely with Finance, HR & IT colleagues in the US. Areas of focus include accounts payable and receivable, budgeting and monthly reporting, as well as providing wide-ranging operational support across a number of different areas including legal/contracts, HR and IT.
Key responsibilities
Financial Administration (30%)
- Accounts Payable: Create POs according to the A/P policy, ensure all invoices are correctly logged & submitted for payment, ensure timely payment of all invoices, review weekly report of unposted invoices and outstanding payments and take action as needed.
- Accounts Receivable: Ensure all donations are properly coded & documented.
- Expenses Reporting: Ensure timely submission of employee expenses and debit and credit card transactions.
- Review financial transactions monthly to ensure income and expenditure are recorded correctly in the general ledger.
- Provide monthly reporting to all budget holders in the UK and EU.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities, as needed.
Contracts Management (30%)
- Working with the UK and EU teams, oversee the creation, submission and signing of all supplier contracts.
- Work with the Office of General Counsel in the US to ensure each contract is compliant with organisational policies and procedures.
- Maintain a log showing stage of each document in the process.
Operational Support (40%)
- Be the first point of contact for operational queries to campaigns and fundraising teams in UK and EU
- Ensure timesheets are completed as part of the monthly payroll process.
- Manage the process of recruiting and onboarding new employees and offboarding leavers. Support provision of IT and equipment for UK and EU teams as needed.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities, as needed.

The programme
The Office of the Directorate is headed by the Director-General of the Foundation, Dr Anne T. Gallagher AO. In addition to providing overall leadership, it brings together core functions related to governance, finance and people management.
The role
The Human Resources Officer, under the guidance of the Senior Office Manager (People and Finance), plays a crucial role in managing and executing the human resources functions within the Foundation.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Managing the administrative aspects of recruitment and selection
- Overseeing staff induction processes
- Overseeing HR administration along the entire staff life cycle
- Maintaining and reviewing HR procedures and employment policies
- Acting as the point of contact for HR-related advice
- Managing monthly payroll processes
- Participating in Foundation-wide initiatives
The individual
We seek an individual with demonstrated experience in human resources within a dynamic professional setting. They should have a solid understanding of UK employment law and practices, supplemented, if possible, with CIPD qualifications. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with the ability to build relationships across the organisation and a commitment to fostering a welcoming, inclusive work environment.
The ideal candidate will exhibit a strong work ethic, reliability, independence, and the flexibility to adapt to new challenges and learn new skills.
What we offer
Salary expectation: £31,000 – £33,000

We are based in Marlborough House, Pall Mall, central London. We are currently operating a flexible working policy which requires all staff to work from the office at least five days per fortnight including every Wednesday, and applicants must be able to affirm their capacity and willingness to work within this policy.

Cancer support charity Look Good Feel Better are looking for a qualified accountant to cover a Finance and Business Partner (part time – 3 days per week ) period of maternity leave. This vitally important role will be varied, interesting and have you involved with all areas of the charity.The role can either be based in the Epsom office or remote working (with at least one visit per month to Epsom).
Reporting To: Financial Controller
Responsible for:
- Supporting the Fundraising and Programmes teams, providing financial information and analysis to senior management, helping them make more informed decisions.
- Working alongside the Senior Fundraising Manager to ensure that the Fundraising CRM system holds correct information for all income received.
- Working with the Head of Programme Services to ensure accurate reporting of patient performance information
- Supporting on all areas of Charity and Trading Company tax compliance.
- Managing ad-hoc projects that support the needs of the Fundraising and Programmes teams.
- Supporting the Financial Controller with month-end / year-end reporting as required.
Outline of the Role:
The role is the pivotal connection between Finance and the Fundraising and Workshop Delivery teams.
The role supports the Fundraising Director and Fundraising team with their understanding and knowledge of not only how to approach any new fundraising initiatives (to ensure they are financially complaint), but also to advise on any tax/Vat concerns.
The role also supports the Head of Programme Services and the wider Programmes team, with their planning, forecasting and reporting, providing key support with Excel modelling.
A member of the very small finance team, the Finance Business Partner will support the Financial Controller with month and year end input, analysis and reporting.

About the Role
This is an exciting role will form part of the charities Senior Management team, providing leadership and management to the back-office function enabling them to provide the best possible service to the c.4000 young people who they support.
