An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Marie Curie's growing Policy and Public Affairs team on a 1 year fixed-term basis as our Senior Local Public Affairs Manager. The post holder will lead our local public affairs programme in England, manage relationships with senior local government and integrated care system leaders, and influence policy change at a local level to deliver a better end of life experience for people affected by terminal illness.

The Senior Local Public Affairs Manager will design and lead the delivery of our local public affairs programme, and line-manage a team of officers responsible for delivering this work, engaging public policy decisionmakers in localities across England. The post holder will design and manage the delivery of significant internal and external projects, initiatives and campaigns which seek to improve the care and support available to everyone with a terminal illness. The holder will be responsible for managing relationships with senior Local Authority and Integrated Care System leaders, and ensure local public affairs activity contributes to the development of Marie Curie's relationships with local MPs and other key decisionmakers, working with them to improve end of life experience for everyone across their locality.

The Community Fundraiser plays a vital role in fostering and expanding our network of individual givers and community fundraisers. The position is responsible for:
- Developing and managing relationships with our supporters.
- Signing SafeLives up to a programme of fundraising events.
- Maintaining and growing our supporter base.
- Responding to fundraising opportunities from individuals and corporates.
We will occasionally require you to support with organising events for our high-net-worth individuals. The role is managed by our Trusts and Grants Manager. It was a new role in 2022 and the successful candidate will build on the foundations that have been set over the last year and a half.
The ideal candidate will bring creativity and proactivity to the role – thinking outside the box and finding new ways to grow our supporter base and market our opportunities. You will be the perfect balance of engaging and motivational and a rigorous planning coordinator with exceptional attention to detail. You will help us reach new supporters, through events and fundraising, and communicate our key messages in a way that encourages people to support our work.

How you will make a difference
I work within Quality and Business Intelligence and support the Integrated Governance team. I provide administrative support to the Head of Integrated Governance to help ensure the organisation complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
I manage the Rethink Mental Illness health and safety management and reporting systems and provide support to managers and staff to ensure the organisation complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
I provide regular reporting information and advice to senior management to ensure Rethink Mental Illness take all reasonable steps to ensure the health, safety and welfare of staff, volunteers, Experts by Experience, people who use services as well as contractors and all others who may be affected by our operations is maintained.
*Appointments will be at the minimum of the band.

You will manage and develop the fundraising, communications, and marketing functions, to promote the implementation of Oasis Project’s new strategy for 2024-27. You will lead and deliver on income generation targets which support the mid and long-term sustainability of Oasis Project. You will be an experienced fundraising manager, with sound bid-writing experience who is looking to move into a senior leadership role. You will have:
· Fundraising experience (with trusts and foundations) working in a management level role within a voluntary sector organisation, wanting to or having progressed into senior leadership.

· Experience in thinking strategically and developing operational business plans.
· Demonstrable experience of working in a fundraising and development role with a focus on income generation and fundraising strategy development.

· Ability to write clear and persuasive documents including bids, marketing materials and board reports.
