This role will include supporting birth relatives to meet with adoptive parents and to help birth relatives understand the importance for children, to keep connected to their relatives and significant people from their past.

Ideally, you will have previous experience of working with birth relatives whose children have been placed for adoption and you will have a good understanding of the adoption process.  You will work with relatives from a range of diverse backgrounds, lived experiences and those who may be neuro diverse and you will need to demonstrate understanding, respectfulness and adaptability to your social work practice.

The Peer Support In-Reach Service is a partnership between several local Minds. Peer Support Workers and Senior Peer Support Workers, who have direct lived experience of mental health issues, are working on in-patient wards in Croydon, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Wandsworth to provide recovery-focused peer support to people as they leave hospital and journey towards being settled in the community and living independently.

South East London Mind have a vacancy for a part-time Senior Peer Support Worker to join the team in Lewisham and line manage a Peer Support Worker.

The successful candidate will have personal lived experience of mental health problems, as well as experience of managing staff or volunteers. You will need to be able to travel around the local area to meet your clients in the community and work in hospitals.

You will use your lived experience to help people build skills to develop independence, connect with family and friends, pursue social or vocational interests, get more involved in their local community and stay healthy and mentally well. About the Role

We are looking for a Day Service Co-ordinator to join our art studio team and support people living with brain injury in our day centre in Haggerston.

You will take responsibility for organising and delivering activities in the Submit to Love art studio, such as supporting members in creating new artworks, planning and delivering events and outings, and engaging members in a variety of other activities in response to their needs and interests.

The role also involves providing advocacy and support (key working) for up to 12 members and ensuring the smooth running of the day service as a member of the co-ordinating team.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Activities in the art studio:

•  Support members to engage creatively and develop their personal artistic practise.
• Work alongside the studio manager, day service members and volunteers to plan and deliver events, including artist led workshops, exhibitions and open studios.
•  Plan trips to cultural events and experiences.

Key working:

• Act as key worker for up to 16 members, checking in regularly about their engagement in the centre and their general wellbeing, and supporting them with information, advice, and advocacy as appropriate.
• Establish and maintain contact with members’ families, carers, and relevant statutory partners to facilitate good communication and better provide appropriate support.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including comprehensive individual risk assessments.

Day Service co-ordination:

• Work closely with colleagues and volunteers in the day service and other teams at Headway East London to create a welcoming, supportive, and stimulating environment for members.
• Share responsibility for practical tasks in the day service to ensure its smooth running.
• Work sensitively with volunteers, supporting them alongside the volunteer co-ordinator to take on meaningful and rewarding roles in the day service.

Main Purpose:

• Work closely with the Chief Executive to develop and evolve Home-Start’s services in response to changing needs, informing the strategy for our family support and development of services.
• Provide vision, direction, and leadership to motivate staff and volunteers to deliver high-quality services that make a measurable positive difference to children and their families.
• Manage the HSS Family Support Team, coordinating and quality assuring their work.
• Collaborate with multi-agency partners to deliver evidence-based interventions that support parenting and prevent need escalating, including structured programmes and group work.
• Be a Designated Safeguarding Lead for the charity.

As Registered Service Manager (RSM) you will be responsible for ensuring your service is well led, maintains high quality standards, is financially robust and that your staff team are well developed and motivated.

What you'll do:

Leadership Accountabilities:

Ensure the PBS framework is imbedded in service delivery with ongoing staff competency assessment and training

Successfully lead and motivate your team to ensure the championing and ongoing maintenance of a positive performance culture within your service.
Responsible for ensuring your service is well led, that customers are safeguarded against harm or abuse, and that your team delivers person centred support according to each customer's individual requirements.
Work to continuously improve staff competence, ensure ownership of all staff issues and speedy and effective conflict resolution - this includes but is not limited to staff supervision, coaching, team meetings, reflective practice and training.
Responsible for reporting all staff changes to HR and Payroll departments, as appropriate e.g. starters, leavers, additional hours etc.

Drive business planning activities within your contract, ensuring relevant and challenging objectives are set and ongoing performance tracking, implementing improvement action plans as necessary.
Using sound financial and accounting principles, manage contract budgets to deliver on corporate and local contract financial targets.
Develop key business relationships with all relevant customers/families and external parties to ensure service delivery excellence.
Have sound knowledge of the customers living in the service and be able to promote their wellbeing and quality of life.
Responsible for housing and property compliance in area of responsibility.
Plan, organise and prioritise operations within your service to ensure maximum efficiencies/utilisation of all resources.
Working with your team, lead creative and ambitious customer involvement plans across the patch and ensure successful implementation of programme of activities relevant to what individual customers want.
Lead CQC inspections and Look Ahead quality visits, using Look Ahead's local indicators and your Power BI Dashboard to monitor quality/performance, set targets to ensure high rated services that reflect requirements of local funders and local and national standards.
