Job Role An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Mental Health & Wellbeing Education Co-ordinator to join our Health & Wellbeing department to lead on the quality assurance and delivery of health and wellbeing training and education programmes.
Working alongside the Health & Wellbeing Manager and Clinical Operations Manager, you will:
- Support the organisational strategic objectives for all Health and Wellbeing services, but with a particular focus on mental health & wellbeing.
- Support the Mental Health & Wellbeing Training Co-ordinator to design, quality assure, and deliver a range of mental health and wellbeing education programmes including staff training, young people or parent workshops, and community events.
- Support the Health & Wellbeing Manager in managing and overseeing the delivery and quality assurance of wider health and wellbeing training such as First Aid and qualifications from YMCA Awards.
- Develop new partnerships and opportunities to educate communities about the health and wellbeing agenda: attending networking events, developing marketing activity, delivering presentations and sourcing funding opportunities.
- Provide effective line management and recruitment of sessional health and wellbeing trainers, ensuring high standards of delivery.
- Support the development and growth of health and wellbeing services whilst meeting annual targets.
- Develop mental health & wellbeing programmes internally and externally for target audiences such as supported housing residents, youth work, family work and workplace wellbeing initiatives.
- Support with the management and monitoring of operational tasks across the health and wellbeing department such as writing reports, data analysis and strategy development.
You will have and be able to demonstrate the following qualities:
- Possess a Level 4 mental health qualification.
- Possess a valid Award In Education; PTTLS qualification; or Qualified Teacher Status.
- Sound knowledge and experience of the children and adults mental health & wellbeing agenda, including local and national initiatives and approaches.
- Sound knowledge and experience of quality assurance tools and processes.
- Proven experience of developing and delivering high quality mental health & wellbeing training and education programmes to adults and young people.
- Proven experience in project management and partnership development.
- Ability to effectively manage time and work well in teams or on your own initiative.
- Excellent organisational, negotiation and time management skills.
- Excellent IT and communication skills.
- Excellent leadership skills and experience.
- A flexible approach to work.
- A current driving licence and access to a car for work.

Job Description

Main Responsibilities
• To provide one-to-one counselling and support to adults, holding a caseload of clients.
• To undertake client assessments and make appropriate arrangements for their support.
• In the first instance the post is likely to cover Braintree, Clacton, Colchester and Chelmsford but the postholder must be able to work flexibly at CARA centres across mid and north Essex.
• To liaise with other agencies and attend meetings, where required, ensuring best support for clients with multiple and/or complex issues.
• To mentor CARA sessional counsellors and volunteers, where appropriate.
• To keep up to date with relevant legislation, policy and practice issues.
• To participate in CARA team meetings, supervision, training and development.
• To provide specialist advice to other workers and agencies, including participation in delivery of training sessions.
• To keep appropriate records in accordance with CARA policies and procedures.
• To raise awareness in the community and within other agencies of the short and long-term responses people may develop to sexual violence.

The role
We’re seeking a well-organised coordinator to join our team focusing on services for people with secondary (metastatic) breast cancer. This role will primarily develop new groups across the northwest region and will ensure successful delivery of those services. They are designed to provide information and emotional and practical support both online and face-to-face.
You’ll play a key role in supporting and developing our secondary services in the northwest of England and will be working with the services manager for secondary breast cancer and a team of coordinators who are based across the UK.
You’ll liaise with venues, expert speakers and support our team of dedicated qualified sessional therapists, as well as providing technical support for the running of monthly online services. You’ll also build productive relationships with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders to promote our services and increase their reach and uptake.
This role ensures Breast Cancer Now can make big strides forward in supporting everyone who needs us by making our services more widely available and increasing awareness of them.
About you
We’re looking for someone with experience of developing and delivering health, information, or other support services, who will enjoy managing relationships with a range of different stakeholders, often remotely.
You’ll be organised and with excellent time management skills, and able to use your initiative and prioritise your workload. You will enjoy working as part of a supportive and busy team who operate across different geographical sites.
Flexibility to travel across the northwest of England and work outside normal office hours, with overnight stays is required. This will involve regular (at least monthly) travel across Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, and Greater Manchester (North).

Primary location of role and hybrid working
This role involves significant travel across the northwest of England and occasionally further for team away days and training. It can either be home based or office based at our Sheffield office if within reasonable commuting distance to Sheffield.
In line with our hybrid working model, if based at our Sheffield office, you will be required to attend the office for a minimum of 2 days per week, subject to the roles travel requirements.

The role
Our services are growing. We are looking for locally based sessional facilitators to support the delivery of our Moving Forward courses across the UK. Our Moving Forward courses are for anyone with a primary breast cancer diagnosis who has finished their hospital-based treatment. Courses are a combination of face to face and online support and are delivered in partnership with local NHS Trusts/Boards. The number of courses can vary across locations but will typically be between 2 - 4 courses a year.
This is offered as a contract for services position and as such the appointed contractor would not be an employee of Breast Cancer Now but a self-employed individual. We require all contractors to adhere to and follow Breast Cancer Now applicable policies and procedures and to undertake some mandatory training in core subjects such as data protection and cyber security. A satisfactory criminal record check will be required.
About you
You will be based locally to one of the available locations with a strong background in group facilitation and course delivery. You will also have excellent organisation and time-management skills, superb oral and written communication skills, and the ability to multitask. You will work independently across a geographical area, supported by the regional services team and our local volunteers.
You will be required to have access to your own IT equipment.

Pay: We offer flat fees for work undertaken delivering our services as listed below:
· £25 per hour when facilitating a course (course duration will vary depending on location).
· Additional fees for attending training and update meetings. We do not pay for travel time, unless asked to travel outside of geographical area.
