Sessional Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Practitioner (Parent Worker)
Permanent position with a provisional end date for funding of 31/03/2025
Salary: £13.96 per hour (including some unsociable hours, evening and weekends.)
Locations: Halton / co-locating with Halton Borough Council
The Children's Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We're there for children, every step of the way.
The post holder will
-To support parent/carers of children and young people who have been affected by domestic abuse
-Enable parents/carers to understand their child's experiences and the impact of witness domestic abuse
-Enable parents/ carers to be more able to identify key indicators of trauma and reinforce CYP interventions
-Improve family relationships by equipping parents with tools/techniques to improve communication between them and their YP
-Reduce the divide between statutory agencies and parent/carers
Experience
-Relevant experience of working with parent/carers (essential)
-Experience of supporting families who are dealing with complex and sensitive issues through offering advice and advocacy (essential)
-Experience of partnership working (essential)
-Experience of working on one's own and within a team (essential)
Qualifications
-A qualification relevant to working with parent/carers and young people e.g. degree in social work, certificate in youth and community work, or related NVQ is desirable but experience is more important.
-Group Gateway Facilitator Accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
Due to the fast paced environment and use of computers for clinical record keeping, you will need to have a good level of IT skills.
