Job description
Employment & Careers Manager
Birmingham, West Midlands (office/field based, with some travel throughout the West Midlands)

About Us

ACH (Ashley Community Housing) is a social enterprise that provides a range of integration and support services for refugees. During the past ten years, we’ve grown from a small-scale housing organisation to a leading provider of integration, employment and housing services for refugees and newly arrived communities in the UK.

Through our subsidiary Himilo Training, our employment work aims to deliver real long-term impact to our service users by providing them with everything they need for successful employment. We also aim to effectively develop ‘softer’ characteristics such as motivation, focus, ambition and confidence.

We are now looking for an Employment & Careers Manager to join us and support the success of our employment programmes throughout the West Midlands.

The Benefits

- Salary of £26,000 - £30,000 DOE & skills
- Mobile phone and laptop
- Paid company sick leave
- Company pension after probation period
- 20 days’ holiday + Bank Holidays

If you have programme or project management experience and a background in supporting refugees, this is a superb opportunity to support the success of our life-changing employment programmes.

In this rewarding role, you will have the chance to strengthen our links with employers, increase our impact and grow the number of opportunities available to those we support.

We see refugees as people with talents, skills and aspirations, who are assets which will boost our economy and enrich our communities. If you want to help make a huge difference to these people’s lives, we want to hear from you.

The Role

As the Employment & Careers Manager, you will lead and represent our West Midlands Employment and Careers Service Team. This team delivers CIAG and training, supports our Syrian Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Programme and delivers our commercial pre and post-employment training contracts.

You will manage the contracts and performance of our employment-related programmes, grow our stakeholder network and strengthen our existing relationships with employers.

Above all, you will ensure that we deliver an impactful and responsive service that is focused on achieving positive, sustainable outcomes for our service users and employment partners.

You will also:

- Develop, support and motivate your team to perform at their best
- Oversee and co-ordinate the delivery of our employment programmes
- Help to maximise our income and ensure all projects are delivered within budget
- Support the continuous improvement of our services

About You

To join us as our Employment & Careers Manager, you will need:

- Programme and/or project management experience, including budgets
- Experience of working with, and supporting, refugees
- Previous experience of dealing with a range of employers
- Excellent communication skills

Other organisations may call this role Project Manager, Programme Manager, Employment Programme Manager, Employment Project Manager, Charity Programme Manager, Project Delivery Manager, or Training Programme Manager.

Webrecruit, ACH (Ashley Community Housing) and Himilo Training are equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment. Equal opportunities are the only acceptable way to conduct business and we believe that the more inclusive our environments are, the better our work will be.

So, if you are ready to take your next step as our Employment & Careers Manager, please apply via the button shown. This vacancy is being advertised by Webrecruit. The services advertised by Webrecruit are those of an Employment Agency.
