About the role

About you
You will have significant experience of working in a challenging, fast-paced news and media environment to secure high-profile coverage and championing the voices of marginalised people. Experience and knowledge of managing and influencing senior internal and external stakeholders is essential in this role, as is the ability to navigate competing priorities to develop and implement creative media strategies that reach a diverse range of audiences.
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge and experience of working with the media to help secure policy change at a national government level, outstanding people and project management skills and proven experience when it comes to handling reputational risk. You will also have exceptional news sense, with the ability to take a creative approach when seeking out new media opportunities.

Your experience
- worked in a previous marketing role, within the education or youth sector or equivalent B2B market
- designed and delivered integrated outreach campaigns for customer acquisition.

This is a hybrid role. You will be working from home and join Team Together Days in a co-working space in London 2-3 individual days each month. These days are considered commuting days. The Actors’ Benevolent Fund supports professional actors and stage managers in times of need, and in 2022 we spent over £1.6M on charitable support. We have created a Marketing & Engagement Coordinator post to help us achieve this ambition, through managing and increasing engagement with the charity’s members and other stakeholders. This role also involves administering the ABF membership, including responding to enquiries and providing a positive and responsive experience of the charity. Activities include creating and monitoring engaging content for social media platforms, as well as developing the ABF’s membership processes to increase impact. There will be the opportunity to develop and implement activities to increase the ABF’s membership.
We are looking for someone with experience of digital and traditional marketing as well as customer relationship management (CRM) tools, data analysis software, HTML and graphic design applications. Importantly, you need excellent verbal and written communication skills to successfully convey the ABF’s brand, and the ability to build and maintain positive, trusted relationships with stakeholders.

The role and your key responsibilities
As Marketing Lead, you’ll head up the marketing to our Employer and Higher Education (HE) audiences - from crafting compelling email campaigns to growing our audience on LinkedIn. Employers and HE are our two newest audiences, and you’ll play a key role in driving their increased engagement and growth, ultimately helping us to support as many students as possible to make informed decisions about their next steps.

Your key responsibilities:

Marketing strategy and planning

Work with the Head of Marketing to set the marketing strategy for our employer and HE audiences, including understanding our customer personas, setting objectives, and identifying priorities for the year.

Execute the strategy and lead on the creation and delivery of all comms to these two new audiences.

Lead on the development and promotion of thought leadership content for our employer and HE audiences.

Plan, write, and send compelling email campaigns, tailored to our different employer and HE audiences.

You’ll be working as part of a small marketing team, alongside our: Head of Marketing (your line manager), Marketing Lead for UK and International schools, Events Manager, Events Leads, and Events Assistant. You’ll also be working closely with our Video team to make sure video content aligns with the marketing strategy, as well as our Employer and HE partnerships teams.
What we’re looking for

2-3 years’ experience in a marketing role.

Exceptional writing skills, including ability to pick up our Unifrog tone of voice and tailor messages to different audiences.
