KEEN London has a small staff team and relies on the skills, experience and support of volunteers to not only deliver 1:1 support at our KEEN Club sessions but also to share our work with the world! Big Syn Institute is a part of the Centre for Big Synergy and has been organising the Big Syn International Film Festival (BSIFF) since 2019.
So far, the festival has reached over 45M people and 150K filmmakers in over 120 countries. Through relevant shorts, features, animations, documentaries, CSR videos and Public Service Videos or Charity videos, the festival advocates the United Nations 17 Global Goals and also celebrates the work of UK's marginalised filmmakers as a key highlight.

About the role
After several years of relying on the efforts from our Co-Founders, Trustees and temporary volunteers we are looking to take the next step in our growth journey through the placement of our first longer-term volunteer.

About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative individual with social media, design and content creation skills to join our Comms & Engagement team.
Our Engagement Team is essential to ensuring our work and message reaches the right people at the right time. We are looking for a volunteer who can dedicate time to this role through to December 2024. You will be a part of a team that works directly with Tanzania’s indigenous Maasai, and help to make a difference in key areas such as protecting ecosystems and advocating for indigenous rights.
The main objective is to help the team with external communication activities, including social media account management, website management and Google Ads management. This role requires excellent written communication skills and will suit someone who has an interest and/or experience in managing social media accounts, Wordpress websites, and other external communication activities.
Responsibilities can include:

Reviewing the partner organisation’s social media presence.

Developing and implementing a social media strategy with the partner organisation, including content creation, and posting.

Training partner organisation staff to manage social media accounts.

Updating website content, for example news stories and new projects.

Opportunities to develop other external communication activities.
Desirable Skills and Experience

Previous experience managing a Google Ad Grant account, including ad campaign establishment and monitoring.

Previous experience training staff to use a Google Ad Grant account, and providing Google Ad campaign reports.
Leadership
Support and mentoring to develop your skills will be available in this role as we aim to help you bring out our talents in this team.
Hours
As this is a volunteer role, time is flexible, but you would be expected to attend a bi-weekly check-in with someone from the Not1More team to ensure are working in the same direction.
