The Hammersmith and Fulham service comprises of one high support hostel and two medium support hostels, housing 24 people experiencing mental ill health who may also have other complex support needs including substance use and offending behaviour or who may present with behaviours which can challenge.

About the role:

The primary role of the project is to enable clients to understand their emotional and mental health needs and manage these effectively. The Project Worker will also support clients to develop their living skills, develop & manage relationships, build social networks and access education, training or employment, by completing comprehensive needs and risk assessments with clients and identifying short-term objectives.

The projects provide support 24 hours a day and are staffed by a Night Concierge and Project Workers, this requires regular weekend working. All work undertaken will be in line with planned support. Staff are responsible for making sure that clients are actively involved in the process and that the support offered is full and holistic.

About you:

• Demonstrable experience of working with people experiencing mental health problems and other complex needs.
• A demonstrable understanding of Mental Health Legislation and how it can be applied.
• A good understanding of safeguarding issues and the ability to undertake comprehensive risk assessments related to this.
• A working knowledge of Housing Management as applied to a residential setting, and an understanding of the rights and responsibilities associated with various forms of tenure including excluded licenses.
• A demonstrable understanding of the Recovery Model, and the ability to engage and motivate people to move towards independence and inclusion.
• A proven ability to work in partnership with external stakeholders, particularly community mental health services and/or substance use services.
• A proven ability to create and deliver SMART action plans with clients through high quality risk and needs assessment.
• A level of numeracy sufficient to carry out tasks such as budgeting with clients, calculating benefit entitlements and monitoring rent payment.

The Actors’ Benevolent Fund supports professional actors and stage managers in times of need, and in 2022 we spent over £1.6M on charitable support. The organisation has a bold new ambition to increase its reach and impact within the performing arts community, helping many more people and expanding the range of support to result in meaningful and sustainable change. It is an exciting time to be joining the charity, with a new Board of Trustees and the opportunity to make a real difference to a community dedicated to bringing so much meaning and inspiration to others.

We have created a Marketing & Engagement Coordinator post to help us achieve this ambition, through managing and increasing engagement with the charity’s members and other stakeholders.  This includes assisting the Marketing and Engagement Manager with the planning and execution of marketing, branding and advertising strategies to better promote the ABF to all our stakeholders across all communications channels. This role also involves administering the ABF membership, including responding to enquiries and providing a positive and responsive experience of the charity.  Activities include creating and monitoring engaging content for social media platforms, as well as developing the ABF’s membership processes to increase impact. There will be the opportunity to develop and implement activities to increase the ABF’s membership.

We are looking for someone with experience of digital and traditional marketing as well as customer relationship management (CRM) tools, data analysis software, HTML and graphic design applications. Importantly, you need excellent verbal and written communication skills to successfully convey the ABF’s brand, and the ability to build and maintain positive, trusted relationships with stakeholders.

Bexley Food Alliance Project Coordinator

The Bexley Food Alliance is a new network which was funded by the GLA to work towards taking pressure off the emergency food aid services and providing increased financial support to Bexley residents. This network has now expanded and aims to build a collaborative network of agencies that can increase fairer access to healthy, nutritious and culturally appropriate food, as well as any additional support residents might need. We are looking for a Project Coordinator to take over the day-to-day running of this network (see below for a brief description). This is a good opportunity for anyone who wants to take on a part-time, one-year project, perhaps as a stepping stone into something more significant, or perhaps you’re returning to work or changing careers. This is an opportunity to be at the start of an exciting, innovative partnership project, shaping a network and forming strong alliances with various agencies. 

You will work closely with the VCS within Bexley to build the capacity and capabilities of local groups, provide partnership/networking opportunities that enable them to carry out their own objectives effectively and offer high quality services.

The Individual Giving Fundraiser will play a vital role in increasing income from our existing supporters. The position will provide administrative and coordination support to the team and workstream including supporting research tracking, coding, delivery of learning events, communications, project management on special research projects and liaison with other ISEAL teams on collaborative work. Specific project assignments will change over time as ISEAL’s project portfolio evolves. 

To be considered for this role, you will have good research experience and an interest in using research to drive learning and improve practice. You will be highly organised and reliable, with attention to detail and an ability to take things forward within an agreed scope. You enjoy working on a varied and changing set of tasks related to an area of specialist knowledge and will thrive on engaging with complex systems and problems and learning more about topics related to sustainability standards.  You have a friendly and professional demeanour and are comfortable in your communications and interactions with colleagues and external stakeholders. You can bring sound research skills and a good level of work experience in roles focused on project administration, research or analysis, stakeholder engagement and communications.

The position will be based in ISEAL’s Impacts and Evidence workstream which sits within the Policy and Engagement Team.

Key Responsibilities we will entrust you with:

Project coordination and delivery support

• Coordinate project management processes, including implementation of procurement procedures, drafting contracts with consultants (based on ISEAL templates) and maintaining project-related systems
• Carry out background research, review documents, and gather and analyse information using templates and tools such as Excel
• Liaise with select external project partners to share updates and ensure smooth project management
• Contribute to outreach to project stakeholders, Community Members, partners & event attendees, answering and directing queries and scheduling appointments and virtual/ in-person meetings

Evidensia platform, communication and events

• Monitor and track relevant research for the Evidensia platform
• Code and upload content and resources onto the Evidensia platform
• Create social media content for Evidensia channels with guidance from manager
• Support production of team reports and research products
• Coordinate event and meeting logistics, both virtual and in person, and preparation of agendas, communication with participants etc.
• Support event and meeting delivery, including technical support, taking notes, follow up actions and dissemination of post event communications
• Liaise with other teams within ISEAL and with ISEAL members to share new research and provide updates on latest work
• Support drafting and production of relevant newsletters, website articles, and reports

Research, analysis and writing

• Carry out background and desk research support as needed for the team on Evidensia or special research projects
• Proof-read, edit, design, and format documents in Word and Powerpoint, using ISEAL templates
• Prepare slides and other communication material for the team for meetings

Experience, Knowledge and Attributes

• Experience working in a policy or research/analysis support role, in a highly collaborative environment such as an international NGO
• Understanding of sustainability systems and how they work to help deliver change
• Experience and comfort working with subject matter of a niche or specialist nature, possibly gained through data analysis, project communications, and/or the review and analysis of data sets, academic research, technical reports, and policy documents
• Strong organisational skills, and experience with administration, meeting coordination, logistics, contracts, budget tracking, etc.
• Confidence in communications with peers and external partners, comfortable in public speaking situations (e.g. webinars, workshops etc)
• Good time management and ability to organise multiple simultaneous tasks efficiently with precision and strong attention to detail
• Excellent written & spoken English, with proven ability to write clearly and concisely on a range of topics
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fully remote, international environment, including regular international time-zone calls

About the Foundation:

The Avicenna Foundation was set up in 2023 to to support outstanding young British Muslims by providing them with scholarships for their undergraduate degree. The scholarships are mainly focused on awarding scholarships in the Social Sciences and Humanities for those interested in politics, policy-making and becoming agents of positive change.

Alongside the scholarship, the Avicenna Foundation runs a development programme for the scholars to expand their skills and abilities in various areas like leadership, communication and collaboration.

The Foundation has developed immensely in the first year with the launch of the charity; onboarding of it’s first cohort of 30 scholars and the development of a leadership programme.  It now needs propelling into the next stage as the charity develops to ensure a robust charity structure and programme in place.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations:

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the charity, and manage changes required within programmes and activities as a result of changing external landscapes or contexts.

- Implement strategies for advertising the scholarships, receiving and reviewing applications, shortlisting candidates, conducting interviews, and making final selection decisions. Some of these things are already in place and may need reviewing and enhancing.

- Work with the Scholar Development Coordinator to oversee the leadership development programme, provide guidance and help the programme to grow.

- Maintain regular communication with the scholars, their progress, and address any issues or concerns that may arise.

- Ensure programme objectives and outcomes align with the overall strategy and aims of the Foundation, and are realistic and achievable within timeframes and budgets.

- Organise any events, programmes necessary to the scholars.

- Use data to track progress and drive improvement; proactively manage risks; and ensure effective use of the Foundation’s resources and budgets allocated to you.

Governance:

- Provide leadership and guidance to achieve consistency of governance across all of the Foundation’s activities, from development, delivery, measurement and evaluation and reporting perspectives.

- Regular communication and updates to the board, prepare board papers and contribute to Trustee meetings as required.

- Create, maintain and ensure continued adoption of governance frameworks, policies and templates.

- Ensure implementation and maintenance of risk registers for the charity and across all programmes.

- Manage finances, budgeting, reporting, and record-keeping

- Prepare the Foundation’s annual report.

External Engagement

- Lead on strategic communications by developing and implementing an integrated public affairs and communication plan that are consistent with the goals and values of the Foundation.

- Work with educational partners to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the scholarship programme

We’re looking for a creative and confident Content & Communications Coordinator to join our busy Marketing & Communications Team at Imperial College Union. This new role will be key in strengthening our online presence and improving student engagement with the Union. The successful candidate will manage our social media channels and content to drive two-way conversations, to increase awareness of the Union’s work, and help us better understand what they care about.

You will be our in-house journalist; planning and delivering content that speaks to our varied audiences. You’ll build strong relationships across the Union and College, writing creative copy and curating innovative social media content. Using your in-depth knowledge of social media, you will be aware of emerging trends across all platforms and create content that attracts and retains the interest and attention of our members. You will work closely with colleagues across the Union, including our elected Officer Trustees, to support them to reach more students and deliver key messages. Duties and responsibilities

Content Planning

• To assist in the creation of communications and content plans to support the Marketing & Engagement Manager in the delivery of key Union marketing activity, such as Welcome Week and election.

• Build networks with student groups, the Union’s newspaper (Felix) and external partners to develop opportunities for content collaboration
• Utilise student feedback and engagement with Union content to continue to improve and develop our output and channels
• Work with the Student Officer team to promote their public profiles and provide support on their campaigns.
• Stay up to date with what’s happening across the Union, College, the city and wider student movement to stay current and spot positive PR opportunities and content.

Content Creation & Curation

• Ensure timely, relevant and engaging content for Union channels & platforms, including blogs, website, social media and news
• Write, proof and edit a variety of digital communications across the organisation, such as blogs and web content to ensure brand and tone of voice is consistent and correct
• Attend student events to capture photos and videos content to use for marketing purposes and provide live social media coverage to a high standard
• Work with Designer to turn copy into engaging, high quality assets
• Have your finger on the pulse for all latest trends for the student audience and evaluate their feasibility without audiences and available resources
• Be aware of shareable, engaging content, sourcing content from external channels to build an engaged following and boost our content on social media
• Establish and work with student and staff social ambassadors in gathering stories and content

As a Network Coordinator, you will help bring together groups, organisations and other stakeholders to drive forward campaigns to end north sea oil and gas extraction and secure a just transition for workers and communities. You will play a key role in strengthening the movement, through helping to convene highly impactful campaigning coalitions and networks, seeding and supporting campaign interventions and offering expert support & advice. 

About us

Uplift uses research, campaigning, and advocacy to support a just transition away from fossil fuels in the UK on a timeline that is commensurate with a safe climate. We are looking for a Network Coordinator to help drive forward our network building and public campaigning activities across Scotland, and the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to join Uplift at a critical time ahead of a general election and help strengthen the movement away from oil and gas in the UK and towards a just transition for workers and communities.

The role

If you’re passionate about climate justice, especially holding the UK government to account and have a coalition and movement mindset - valuing the importance of movement coordination and generosity, then this role could be perfect for you. You will need a strong understanding of the movement ecology in the UK, especially in Scotland, and understand the unique role different actors play in bringing about change.

Based in Scotland and with a good understanding of the Scottish movement ecology, you will be able to map and bring together groups, organisations, stakeholder and constituents to campaign on fossil fuels. You will strengthen partnerships and scope new allies whilst helping to drive forward campaigning interventions and mobilising groups around key moments throughout 2024 and beyond. You will work closely with key campaigning organisations in Scotland and internally with Uplifts Campaigns and Movement Building team to support network building activities across the UK.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include:

• Building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, groups and organisations, across Scotland, and the rest of the UK, including with key allies campaigning to end oil and gas extraction.
• Coordinate network building and coalition activities to help strengthen the network of groups organising around a phase out of fossil fuels in the UK.
• Provide campaigning support and advice to groups wanting to take action on north sea oil and gas expansion and a just transition.
• Develop campaign resources and network communications in collaboration with key partners and networks.
• Help design and deliver mobilisations and actions across Scotland and support the execution of campaign strategies and interventions in collaboration with partners.
• Be the first point of contact for groups and organisations in Scotland - holding the central coordination function for Uplift. 
• Facilitate spaces for groups to come together and coordinate timely and effective communications with groups.
• Work with the Campaigns and Movement Building team to help strengthen the networks of groups taking action on fossil fuel campaigns across the UK - particularly during nationwide mobilisations or campaign moments. 
• Be an active member of the Campaigns and Movement building team - participating in and helping to shape campaign and network strategies whilst contributing to a healthy team and organisational culture.
• Represent Uplift externally at events, coalition meetings and network gatherings. Carry out media spokesperson activities where appropriate.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have: 

• Experience in a similar or related role.
• Be based in Scotland and have a good working knowledge of the wider movement ecology in Scotland.
• A track record of guiding and supporting effective campaigning coalitions.
• A good understanding of campaign strategy and an ability to know when to apply a range of tactics based on target, audience and the campaign cycle.
• Previous experience of movement building, including an understanding of the principles of mobilising and organising and an appreciation of the role different actors (the grassroots, NGOs, unions etc) play in social change.
• A strong commitment to Uplift’s mission and core values of equity and climate justice.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build strong, trusting relationships with a variety of groups and organisations, as well as with colleagues (through written communications, online calls and in-person gatherings).
