The NIAS Gallery is a part of the NIAS Creative Campus projects. We are currently recruiting for an Exhibitions Assistant to support our latest artists' led exhibition series in the City of London EC1.
Main responsibilities
- Provide quick and accurate responses to enquiries by artists and visitors
- Providing assistance to the Coordinator and Artists, including; booking artists, courier companies and other logistic companies to facilitate the exhibition
- Promote the exhibition across all social media platforms
- Assisting with curation/creative decisions & creating promotional materials
- Ad-hoc duties at exhibition; managing guest list, showing guests to exhibition, help with setup and dismantling exhibits, photographing exhibitsetc
- Update marketing and listing information on websites, google, online auction sites, etc
- Any other relevant duties in support of the operations of the gallery
Requirements:
- Have an interest in pursuing a career in events, logistics and fine art

Help us ensure that we enable every community across Birmingham to feedback on their experiences of using Health and Social Care services. Support Healthwatch Birmingham to reach out into communities in our city, listen to diverse and vulnerable groups, and help make their voice known.
Community engagement will take place across all 10 districts of the city (support with travel arrangements and costs will be provided) and will involve working as part of a small team. Work will be carried out at different venues and locations including:

About the opportunity
We are on the lookout for twelve driven and passionate individuals to join our team as Voluntary Marketing Officers. This shared role is designed to devise and execute an all-encompassing marketing strategy to engage parents and schools via various channels. Work Schedule
This is an unpaid and voluntary role. Each candidate should not work more than 20 hours per week, but there is flexibility to accommodate the needs and schedules of team members.

Befriending Volunteer

Our aim is to enable everyone to age well in Wandsworth. We would love your help to be able to continue to support older Wandsworth residents.
Our Be-a-Friend service is one of our longest running services, matching people over 65, who live alone and have limited social contact, with a friendly local volunteer with similar hobbies and interests. The volunteer and their new friend set up a suitable time for them to meet each week for a chat and a cup of tea, which could be during the day, in the evening on the way home from work or even on the weekends . If you would prefer to volunteer from home, you can also be matched with an older person for telephone befriending. For many of our matched pairs, this is the beginning of a firm friendship.
Befriending Plus
Befriending Plus is an extended version of the Be-a-Friend programme, for individulas needing help with life admin and small tasks as well as companionship. For Befriending Plus pairs, time spent together can include helping to use a phone or tablet, helping the client to organise their file, going out for a coffee or popping to the post office together. This support can help older people to stay independent at home for longer, as well as increasing their confidence to do these tasks when the volunteer is not there.

Marie Curie Helper is a professional service provided by trained volunteers who offer one-to-one companionship and support to people with a terminal illness and their families.
To enable us to reach more people who would benefit from our support we need help to;
- Raise awareness and knowledge of the Helper service
- Ensure that people who are referred to the Helper service are appropriately assessed
- Increase our number of trained Helper volunteers and ensure they are well supported in their role.
- Demonstrate Marie Curie values; always compassionate, making things happen, leading in our field, people at our heart
- Support volunteers in training, offering 1:1 support and facilitating peer support groups
- Organise social events and engagement activities for volunteers

With support from their Volunteer Coordinator a Lead Volunteer will play an important part in supporting the Helper service to reach more people within their own local community.
Your role will mainly be based in your local community and may include some of, but is not restricted to, the following typical tasks:
- Assess terminally ill people and/or their carers either in their own home, nursing or residential care to identify their needs and determine if the Marie Curie Helper service would be appropriate for them.
- Provide cover for Helper volunteers, offering companionship and emotional support, practical support and short breaks for carers. You may be supporting your client’s family or carers before or during bereavement. This may involve offering emotional support, signposting to relevant local support services or finding out information as requested
- Driving clients to pre-arranged health or social care (eg to chemotherapy appointments or day therapy at the hospice)

Haringey Refuges provide specialist and safe temporary accommodation for up to six months in the form of 15 units of refuge accommodation across 3 sites for women and their children who are in crisis/risk of harm and have low to medium support needs.

About the Role
The Volunteer Refuge Support Worker will Assisting Refuge Workers with the day to day running of the refuge by providing basic support for women and children affected by domestic/sexual violence.
Tasks will include:

• Helping to familiarise women with their new including how to access local services, register with GP etc.

You will have oversight of the organisation’s work across a range of different areas, from finance to programming, health and safety to staff support, and fundraising to pay policy. We are looking for folk who will enjoy this variety, and who is willing to learn about the context in which small charities operate and respond proactively to what the charity needs. As an organisation with a tiny staff team, trustees at Girls Rock London have a more hands-on role than they do in larger charities, and this means that you may need to work across areas that are new to you.
As a number of our Board come to their final terms, we are looking to recruit:
Chair We are looking to recruit a new Chair of Trustees to lead the Board over the next three years, ensuring the board functions properly, the organisation is managed effectively, and to provide leadership support to staff.
Lead Financial Trustee We are looking to recruit a Trustee with expertise in financial management who will work with the Director to ensure the monitor the organisation’s finances and to make sure that money and property are properly managed.
Designated Safeguarding Trustee We are looking to recruit a Trustee with expertise in safeguarding. Though safeguarding is the responsibility of all trustees, the Designated Safeguarding Trustee will take the lead on safeguarding, supporting the charity’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), CEO and Chair of Trustees.
