Job Purpose
Help shape the voice of rheumatology and make a difference to people living with rheumatic conditions. We’re looking for a creative and proactive marketing and communications professional to join BSR. The post-holder will support the planning and implementation of marketing and digital campaigns for a wide range of BSR projects, connecting us with our community. Managed by the Marketing and Communications Manager, the role is responsible for planning and building powerful marketing emails and newsletters in Dotdigital, creating digital assets, running social media content, running paid campaigns, and providing performance reports and insights. The role also includes updating website content, advising on SEO and user experience, and using analytics to support data-driven decision-making. Whether it’s promoting an event, launching a research initiative, or raising awareness of vital issues, your work will help us reach and inspire the right audiences.
Main responsibilities
- Plan and deliver imaginative marketing campaigns and social media activity to support excellence in rheumatology and support better care for people with rheumatic conditions.

About Khulisa:
Khulisa, meaning 'nurture' in the Zulu language of South Africa, is an award-winning charity dedicated to providing therapeutic support to young people. We focus on reaching those who are most at risk – young people from deprived communities who are often marginalized, vulnerable to exclusion, and at heightened risk of becoming involved in crime.
Our approach centres on safe, exploratory methods that aim to understand behaviour and experiences often rooted in trauma, abuse, and neglect. We deliver intensive therapeutic programs within educational and community settings, empowering young people to confront the underlying causes of their emotional distress and work toward healing. To create lasting, sustainable change, we also work to establish trauma-informed environments around young people by equipping parents, caregivers, educators, and other professionals with the tools they need to offer effective, supportive care. About the role:
This role will be a key part of helping to raise awareness of Khulisa’s mission and the issues we address, strengthening support for our programmes. The postholders will also take ownership of planning and delivering all Khulisa events, ensuring they are impactful and well-executed.

As the Assistant PR and Media Officer, you will work across the media and PR team to support the delivery of impactful media coverage that will build understanding of the issues affecting people with arthritis, increase awareness of Versus Arthritis and drive change.
This will include acting as a point of contact for journalists seeking information and working with colleagues across the charity to provide timely and accurate comment, requiring occasional out of hours work. Central to increasing awareness and understanding of arthritis is through sharing the experiences of people with lived experience. Alongside the Stories Officer, you will support people to share their stories with media and help manage these important relationships.

Assistant Communications Officer
Do you have experience working in a fast paced press office or communications team and are looking to take your next step? Are you skilled in juggling tasks and enjoy the buzz of a busy comms office? Mencap is recruiting for an Assistant Communications Officer - a vital role across our PR and social media teams, helping bring together our day to day work - this position is hugely varied with bags of opportunity to learn and grow in the role.
The role is full time (37.5 hours per week) with hybrid working at home and in the London Office. We know that work is something you do not just a place you go. At Mencap we give office-based colleagues and teams more flexibility about where the work is done.
About the role of Assistant Communications Officer:
- You will be supporting both the media team and wider communications team to help us reach as wide an audience as possible.
- Supporting the media team with day-to-day tasks such as writing and issuing the daily news summary, managing rotas, assisting with compiling monthly reports, take part in the team rota to be the first point of contact for media requests coming into the organisation - via press phone and media inbox.
- Supporting the media team with campaign press - writing press releases and creating social media content, pitching stories to journalists, setting up media interviews and writing briefing documents and work with the social media team to monitor our social channels and interact with followers where required.
You will be a crucial cog in ensuring the smooth running of the press office with:
· Strong organisation and time management skills to keep the team running efficiently and manage your varied workload.
· At least 1 years experience within communications.
· Have good initiative.

We are looking to appoint a new Digital Communications Officer to play a key role in helping SportsAid build vibrant and engaged online communities, delivering content and fostering meaningful interactions across our digital platforms.
Our new digital community engagement platform will be a cornerstone of SportsAid’s digital strategy, providing an essential space for athletes and their parents to access tailored resources and training, connect with peers, and feel part of a supportive community.
Your focus will be on:
· Planning and producing content for the online community platform, ensuring regular updates, discussions, and engagement opportunities
· Day-to-day management of SportsAid’s social media channels, amplifying stories, celebrating achievements, and engaging with a wider audience
- Creating a mix of written, visual, and video content to drive engagement and audience growth.

The salary is £31,250 p.a (pro rata), working across four days a week, and opportunities for flexible working are available. Actual salary c.£25,000.3 years fixed term contract
SportsAid Head Office in London (near London Bridge) with hybrid working. We are normally all in the office on Mondays and one other day of our choice. We are flexible about start times to help with the cost of commuting and we are genuinely flexible all round.

Identify, create and secure opportunities for coverage of our charity’s mission in target publications and platforms.

Build networks and contacts within mainstream, education and food-related traditional and social media platforms to secure proactive story and content placement.

Deal with reactive media queries to tight deadlines, overseeing preparation of briefs and Q&As.

Oversee the ongoing development of our website and work to improve user experience.

Evaluate the success of campaigns, setting and tracking key metrics, feeding learnings back into future work in a cycle of continuous improvement.

Monitor and control spending against delegated budget, clearing any anticipated variance with the Head of Communications in advance.

Develop and deliver a patron and ambassador strategy.

Skills & experience:

3+ years prior experience in a similar role.

- A strong eye for design and storytelling
- Experience in digital content creation, from graphics to short-form video
