We're looking for a creative social media volunteer to build our audience across social media, keep all platforms up to date with original content and promote our initiatives with on brand messages on a weekly basis. 

The Mental Health Community are a registered charity created out of a passion to improve mental health services and the belief that community is crucial to delivering the means for sustainable recovery for everyone with mental ill-health. 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

-Ensuring all social media is up to date and has original content on it.

-Maintaining the baseline number of posts through scheduling.

-Keeping up-to-date with the team, staying in regular contact through email/whatsapp/phone and meetings.

Big Syn Institute is a part of the Centre for Big Synergy and has been organising the Big Syn International Film Festival (BSIFF) since 2019.

So far, the festival has reached over 45M people and 150K filmmakers in over 120 countries. Through relevant shorts, features, animations, documentaries, CSR videos and Public Service Videos or Charity videos, the festival advocates the United Nations 17 Global Goals and also celebrates the work of UK's marginalised filmmakers as a key highlight.

OSCAR, BAFTA and EMMY award-winners, as well as other luminaries from film and media, sustainability, and policy have been part of the festival and have supported it since inception. Winners from the festival have eventually won OSCARS and EMMY awards.

Working with executive team, the volunteer would assist and on occasions lead and coordinate the following;

• Planning, researching, creating and posting social media posts about the Big Syn International Film Festival

QuilomboUK is looking for a Public Relations Assistant, who would love to join a growing organisation. 

We are a Kingston-based social marketing enterprise using creative thinking to build community cohesion.

We aim to attract knowledgeable individuals encouraging different cultures to unite which enables us to share and celebrate essential lessons. Partnering with local organisations, we put on programmes of training, workshops and other events that promote unity and tolerance.

We conduct research to support our cause to challenge preconceptions around race and stereotyping. As well as delivering workshops on unconscious bias in the workplace.

The PR Assistant role offers a great opportunity for the right person who is looking to:

Main Responsibilities

• Providing general support and guidance to the wider PR Department as and when directed by the Head of PR team.

• Conduct research to support PR planning

• Lead and develop the team

• Foster good community relations through events and through involvement in community initiatives

• Line manager - coach and motivate the team to address skill gaps and achieve aspirations.

• Managing projects as assigned and organising teams to assist in these efforts.

• People management-Manage individual performance, regular progress meetings, induction of new starters, people development, resolve issues.

General tasks

• Contribute to staff meetings and other internal meetings with views and suggestions etc.

Essential

• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Tactical understanding of all primary social media platforms

• Knowledge and understanding of online and offline marketing tactics

• Event planning experience

Desirable

• Committed to working with the community with a passion for helping others less fortunate.

The Professional Development Programme with Quilombo UK runs over a period of 16 weeks, is UNPAID and requires a minimum of 12 hours commitment per week across Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday.

Upon successful application, our HR team will contact you to arrange an interview. Following a successful interview, we'll initiate the onboarding process by sending you the necessary documents. Once your onboarding and identification documents are received and verified, you'll be invited to a 6-hour HR and System Induction. Subsequently, you'll meet with your Head of Department or Assistant Manager for your First Day.
