About the role

Do you love creating engaging content and connecting with people? Rethink Mental Illness is looking for Social Media Volunteers who can bring our online community to life!

Our social media volunteers use their passion and knowledge of social media to promote the activities of our local services and groups in Central England though various channels, for example, TikTok, Facebook and Instagram. 

Working closely with the Head of Area, you will be remote based at home, with some occasional travel for events (expenses reimbursed), and ideally will be able to commit up to 4 hours per week to volunteering.

You will receive training and regular supervision to ensure you feel confident in your role.  This role is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer.

What you will be doing as a Social Media Volunteer

• Help to co-ordinate our Quarterly newsletters and content schedule
• Work with other volunteers and the Head of Area to capture events, meeting updates, good news stories
• Support the creation of fun and captivating email and newsletters
• Creating regular engaging content across all our social media platforms including, story posts, blogs, articles, multimedia content.
• Monitoring activity, analytics and engagement with content

At Watford & Three Rivers Refugee Partnership, our objective is to provide practical and emotional support, ultimately helping our clients achieve a sustainable position as full members of our society. Many of our clients are destitute, homeless and have no access to assistance from the government. Our mission is to provide access to advice and essential services until statutory services are in place.

Volunteering as a Social Media Officer provides an opportunity for you to help promote the charity to current and potential clients as well as the wider community, which could attract donors and other volunteers. As well as this it will be a way for you to develop your social media and computer skills, gain experience volunteering for a charity and also it will be an interesting addition to your CV!

Our purpose at Legasee is to record history in the words of the people who made it, in order to educate and raise awareness about the bravery, service and sacrifice our military personnel have made over the past century.

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with our project team to identify and prioritise compelling content related to the WRAC project. About the role

After several years of relying on the efforts from our Co-Founders, Trustees and temporary volunteers we are looking to take the next step in our growth journey through the placement of our first longer-term volunteer.

This role will be designed to oversee all marketing and social media activities of the organization, and to provide leadership to a small group of wonderful and talented student volunteers from London based Universities as they complete tactical projects for ParaPride as part of their studies. This will also include supporting Daniele, our Co-Founder and Community Engagement Director, with planning and reporting of their activities to the university.

The leadership you will provide will initially be indirect, with Daniele being ultimately responsible for the students activities, so we expect this to be a wonderful opportunity for a seasoned marketing or social media professional who would like the opportunity to gain team leadership experience. 

Duties

• Advise on how to best grow overall awareness and success of the ParaPride brand.

• Oversee the continuous development of our content creation schedule and distribution of engaging, thought provoking and educational content for our media channels, notably LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

• Provide support and guidance to a small team of student volunteers to develop social media and marketing content that supports the mission, vision and values of ParaPride - directly participating in the creation of content at your discretion. 

• Ad-hoc creation and distribution of promotional assets for ParaPride events.

• Identify and establish potential additional media channels where it is sustainable to do so with the resources available. 

• Maintain the organisations Brand assets and monitor and advise of their use and ensure consistency with our established tone of voice in written content.

You do not need to be LGBTQI+ or Muslim to be able to carry out this role. However, it is important to have a broad knowledge and understanding of these areas to be able to genuinely engage with the specific audience that follows Hidayah’s social media platforms.

Trustees play a crucial and key role in the setting up of Youth Mix, the strategic direction and steering of our new youth charity, ensuring we are a fantastic youth-led organisation for young people aged 16 to 26 years old. Trustees will also ensure quality, stability and positive outcomes for both young people and our new charity as we set up and start our journey.

This is an exciting time for the Charity as we roll out our mentoring programme. Following strategic discussions, we are now looking to reinforce and enrich our Trustee Board to provide support and guidance to our Operational Team to enable them to achieve our ambitious 1 year and 3-year plans, whilst also ensuring robust succession plans in place for the Board.

QMC Capoeira is a martial arts school based in London that has been running since 2007 and is the most awarded Capoeira School in the UK.

The school has classes in London, Canada and the Dominican Republic and runs classes 6 days a week for children and adults. The volunteering program with QMC requires a minimum of 21 weeks of commitment. We are looking for someone who can offer 12 hours a week, Monday - Friday.

Upon successful application, our HR team will contact you to arrange an interview. Following a successful interview, we'll initiate the onboarding process by sending you the necessary documents. Once your onboarding and identification documents are received and verified, you'll be invited to a 6-hour HR and System Induction. We are seeking volunteers with creative ideas and proven experience of social media management to join our team of volunteers for the 2024 Big Syn International Film Festival.

Big Syn Institute is a part of the Centre for Big Synergy and has been organising the Big Syn International Film Festival (BSIFF) since 2019.

So far, the festival has reached over 45M people and 150K filmmakers in over 120 countries. Through relevant shorts, features, animations, documentaries, CSR videos and Public Service Videos or Charity videos, the festival advocates the United Nations 17 Global Goals and also celebrates the work of UK's marginalised filmmakers as a key highlight.

OSCAR, BAFTA and EMMY award-winners, as well as other luminaries from film and media, sustainability, and policy have been part of the festival and have supported it since inception. Winners from the festival have eventually won OSCARS and EMMY awards.

Working with executive team, the volunteer would assist and on occasions lead and coordinate the following;

• Planning, researching, creating and posting social media posts about the Big Syn International Film Festival
• Creating artwork and multi-media, researching contacts and key patrons and working with the team to communicate with festival applicants, generating engaging content across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn
• Identifying gaps and needs, feedback ideas for improvement, reporting analytics, and planning posts accordingly
• Enhancing participation for the festival and garnering support for festival by increasing public engagement through innovative means.
   

  What are we looking for?

  An experienced social media professional with varied experience of campaigns and events is desirable;

• Use of mobile and desktop apps to create content (Canva, photoshop, adobe etc) 
• Good copy skills and creative writing skills
• Video and photo editing skills desirable
• Time keeping
• Open to feedback
• Have own gear and software
