Job description

Birmingham or London based applications considered.

Hours: Part time at 60% (average of 3 days per week– structure of working week can be discussed, Monday's/Thursday’s are required). Additional hours per week will be available as further funding becomes available. 

Initially reporting to the CEO

As the Sophie Hayes Foundation embarks on an exciting phase of growth and development,supporting more women survivors of Human Trafficking, the Volunteering and Survivor Network Supervisor will become a valued member of the organisation’s new Senior Management Team

The right candidate will focus on creating and delivering the Volunteering and Survivor Network programme, ensuring the needs of the women survivors are met through increased opportunites for volunteers and partners.

VOLUNTEERING PROGRAMME: CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

To oversee the three R’s of volunteering: Recruitment. Retention. Recognition this role will:

  1. Create and deliver the organisations Volunteering Strategy (VS) and Volunteering Programme (VP) by including existing volunteers, staff, and partners
  2. Incorporate individual, corporate and community volunteering opportunities and activities
  3. Liaise with all staff regarding volunteering opportunities
  4. Attend meetings within the organisations as and when necessary
  5. Ensure the Blackbaud Etapestry database for volunteers is maintained within all regulatory requirements
  6. Carry out monitoring and analysis of all aspects within volunteering and volunteers
  7. Write and present regular reports for senior management and committees
  8. Arrange regular appreciation events for volunteers
  9. Ensure that the values and behaviour of volunteers align with the organisation.
  10. Create and regularly update the Volunteers Handbook and other relevant documents and publications
  11. Produce a quarterly volunteer’s newsletter and to maintain a social media presence and respond to volunteer enquiries
  12. Be available to work outside office hours to carry out volunteering training events and to interview prospective volunteers
  13. Undertake such other duties within the competence of the postholder which may be required from time to time
  14. Identify corporate, community partnerships to increase volunteering support for survivors of human trafficking
  15. Host visits from external organisations and individuals to promote the organisations mission and vision
  16. Create recognition events honouring all external support

SURVIVOR NETWORK: CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Deliver the organisations Survivor Network (SN) programme and quarterly events across all 3 SHF locations
  2. Ensure all SN events are integrated into the organisations Employability Programme
  3. Ensure the Blackbaud Etapestry database for SN events is maintained within all regulatory requirements
  4. Carry out monitoring and analysis of the SN programme and events
  5. Write and present regular reports for senior management and committees
  6. Ensure that the values and behaviour of the SN programme and events align with the organisation.
  7. Create and regularly update the SN programme handbook and other relevant documents and publications
  8. Produce a quarterly SN newsletter and maintain a social media presence and respond to SN enquiries
  9. Be available to work outside office hours to carry out SN events
  10. To undertake such other duties within the competence of the postholder which may be required from time to time

ESSENTIAL

MINIMUM 3 -5 YEARS SUPERVISING VOLUNTEER PROGRAMMES

  • Experience of programme or project management in a charity context. (creation, review, delivery)
  • Creating and delivering KPI's and all reporting tools
  • Empowering and Equipping Others: Experienced in teaching or facilitating others and bringing out the best in those around you.
  • Experience in building alignment with partners and stakeholders over a shared agenda. 
  • Experience in influencing others for a common goal and managing complex stakeholder relationships

DESIRABLE

  1. Knowledge and understanding of the human trafficking and modern-day slavery sector
  2. Experience of using social media and digital communication tools
