Kiya Survivors is looking for a dedicated individual to join our small, friendly team to assist in leading the charity forward and improving the services we offer to our families in Peru.
Kiya Survivors is a small Anglo-Peruvian registered NGO supporting vulnerable families, children with learning difficulties and disabilities living in poverty and abused and abandoned children and young women in Peru.
We are looking for someone with a secretarial or administrative background who can help us with the following duties:
·To support, help direct and ensure that the charities mission statements are being followed by all Trustees and staff.
·To create, keep up to date and ensure all Trustees and the CEO have a copy of the annual meetings calendar.
·To create, keep up to date and ensure all Trustees and the CEO have a copy of the charities mission statements, code of conduct and strategic plan.
·To set the agenda and take/distribute minutes for all board meetings.
·To ensure that the charities legal paperwork is kept up to date with the Charity Commission and Companies House.
·To actively encourage other Trustees to sign up more child sponsors and set targets per quarter to generate more sponsors for children and projects.
·To research grant opportunities and assist in writing them, collecting relevant data to input etc.

Overview: As a Charity Trustee, you will play a vital role in the governance and strategic direction of Tilehouse Counselling, a Hitchin based mental health charity providing free or subsidised professional counselling to people aged 13+ living in our charitable area. Trustees are responsible for ensuring that the charity is effectively managed and fulfils its objectives in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.

We are particularly looking for prospective Trustees with;
- Global Majority heritage
- Lived experience of mental ill-health and /or counselling and therapy
- Professional experience in HR, legal, safeguarding, marketing or fundraising fields

- Hindu, Muslim or Jewish faith
Board Responsibilities:
The below responsibilities are collective and an individual Trustee may feel more or less able to lead on any particular area. You don’t need experience of all these in order to become a Trustee and training is available.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with fellow trustees to establish the charity's mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
- Governance Oversight: Provide effective oversight of the charity's governance structure, policies and procedures to comply with relevant laws, regulations and best practices.
- Financial Management: Review and approve the charity's annual budget, financial statements and financial policies. Monitor financial performance and ensure proper stewardship of resources.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks to the charity's operations, reputation and financial health. Take proactive measures to mitigate risks and ensure the charity's sustainability.
- Fundraising and Resource Development: Support the development and implementation of fundraising strategies to secure funding for the charity's service. Cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors and funding partners.
- Service Oversight: Review and evaluate the effectiveness of the charity's counselling service in achieving its mission and objectives.
- Community Engagement: Represent the charity in the community and build relationships with stakeholders.
- Ethical and Legal Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity in all aspects of the charity's operations to comply with relevant laws, regulations and ethical guidelines.
- Board Development: Participate in board meetings and any relevant training and development.
Qualifications:

- Integrity and Accountability: Strong ethical values, integrity and a sense of accountability for the effective governance and management of the charity.

Volunteer Role:
We need your help as a volunteer to offer support to us as our Social Media Volunteer who can lead and be a driving force on creating amazing and impactful social media content and materials helping us create a real excitement and buzz around REMIX, telling our story, showing our passion for creating opportunities for young people and the exciting work we will be doing in London and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and/or maintain active social media accounts (such as Facebook, Instagram, X and others).
- Research and create creative content for various social media platforms.
- Identify opportunities to connect with local community groups, businesses and local councils.
- Advertise volunteering opportunities at REMIX.
- Explore additional social media channels (e.g., TikTok).
- Keep up-to-date with REMIX's campaigns and trends.
- Think innovatively to boost online interaction.
- Create a buzz around REMIX that excites young people, parents, potential volunteers, potential donors, sponsors or funders and raises awareness to the general public.
- Link REMIX to national awareness events such as International Women's Day, Pride Month, Black History Month, International Youth Day, etc. Helping us raise awareness of REMIX, our people, our youth and our work.

Description
Our small charity delivers awareness campaigns and a range of support services to patients, relatives, partners and carers who have been affected by a debilitating chronic condition; Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). We are urgently looking for 2 experienced email marketing experts to join our communications team.
You will be a big link to our charity's clients who are vulnerable and isolated, to them learning more about events, our latest articles, fundraising events as well as ensuring they are aware of the services that we offer that be of help to them. You will also be helping us to raise awareness of this devastating chronic condition.
Even though we are a small organisation we have big ideas and having regular contact through emails and newsletters will show consistency and know they can rely on us to be there for them.
We would like the volunteer to help with:
- Email strategy: Help us plan and articulate how we can use emails and newsletters to strengthen our organisation, motivate our supporters and communicate with our sponsors;
- Email content: Develop our communication & marketing content calendar, write compelling regular email content, including calls for donations & support, that is relevant and has clear a call-to-action and high click through rates;
- Email content (membership): Create a regular email newsletter for our membership scheme
- Create automated email series
- Design and implement campaigns and promotional activity
What are you looking for in a volunteer?
We are looking for 2 volunteers who have:
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Good computer skills and a willingness to be contacted via email and/or video chat
- Experience using email marketing software - specifically Mailchimp
- Marketing skills
- Experience of working on marketing strategies
- Ability to quickly understand the needs of our team, organisation and our services users (we are not expecting you to know about the condition we support)
- Can ask key questions to enable us to clarify requirements
- Understands the resource constraints of a small charity and is able to work with these
- Open to feedback
- A passion for marketing and email marketing
- Ability to work flexibly on your own or as part of a team with enthusiasm and commitment
- Ability to create email campaigns with little supervision (after initial support)
