Job Title: Trust Fundraising Manager

Our mission is to tirelessly support and champion how parents can participate in education and have their voices heard.  We want to be a powerful force for good in education in the UK that strives to bring homes and schools together for the good of all children and society.  We have ambitious plans to increase our impact and are establishing a central fundraising strategy for the first time.  Therefore, we are looking for an experienced trust fundraiser to play a key role in delivering organisational growth. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our fledgling Fundraising Team and develop a trust fundraising programme from the ground up.  We are looking for someone with experience in raising funds from trusts and foundations, who is an excellent communicator - spoken and written – and who can undertake research to effectively identify appropriate prospects.  You will help to develop our case for support and develop a suite of proposals and reports that will convey to funders what Parentkind does, what the parents and schools we work with want, and how we support them.  Attention to detail is key, as is the ability to manage your time and prioritise your work.

You’ll have

• A minimum of two years of experience in trust fundraising
• Demonstrable success in securing four and five-figure gifts

• Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Excellent communication skills - strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality written applications, and proposals and deliver impactful presentations

This role is an integral part of the day-to-day delivery of our Advice and Support Service, which has been re-shaped and is due to go live in the summer of 2024. The service is targeted at older people in or facing financial hardship, and provides information, advice and follow up support relating to a range of issues, including Welfare Benefits, Social Care and Housing. 

As a Adviser (Housing and Welfare Benefits) you will be responsible for providing specialist support to older people, their families and carers through our advice service with their enquiries relating to housing and welfare benefits as well as providing generalist level support on a range of issues through our duty service.

You should you should have in depth, specialist level knowledge of Housing or Welfare Benefits (ideally both) as they relate to older people, experience of working within an high volume advice setting and advice supervision framework such as the AQS framework.

Community Advice Works is an established community charity based in New Cross in South
East London. As the only charity in the London Borough of Lewisham offering a general
drop-in advice service, we are a critical source of support to vulnerable residents. We have

We’re looking for a highly motivated communications professional who is passionate about supporting the growth of FoodCycle and working to help people understand the many benefits of community dining.

We’ve grown a lot over the last 15 years and our weekly community meals now run in more than 85 towns and cities across England and Wales. This role is vitally important in supporting our growth - we have plans to reach 100 Community Meal Projects by the end of this year as well as launching new initiatives that will help us support more families and children. 

The post holder will work closely with the Head of Marketing and the wider marketing team to develop campaigns and plans that will get as many people as possible talking about FoodCycle’s work, enhance our visibility and become the leaders in delivering and promoting community dining. 

You will have experience working within media or PR, with a track record of securing high quality media coverage. You will have knowledge of the media landscape, and the ability to craft a press release, pitch a story, work with case studies, and write blog posts.

About the role  

Smart Works are looking to appoint an exceptional Finance Manager to join our finance team at a time of significant growth for the organisation. Working closely with the existing finance team of four, the Finance Manager will play a crucial role in safeguarding the financial health of Smart Works Charity and its network of eleven centres across the UK. 

The Finance Manager will ensure financial systems and processes are followed, financial tasks are completed before deadlines and key stakeholders receive the financial information they need to make sound decisions. 

An important part of the role is to build excellent working relationships with non-financial employees working across Smart Works, so that information needed by the finance team is obtained in a timely fashion. The successful candidate will also identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Office Manager to join our team on a 14 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. You will be a highly organised, practical and friendly person to manage our office operations, the role is diverse and will suite an all-rounder who is proficient in multi-tasking and problem solving.

Hackney Foodbank is looking for a Volunteer Manager to join their team 2 days per week (14 hours).

Purpose and Key Responsibilities:

The Volunteer Manager role is responsible for recruiting, engaging and deploying volunteers into a wide variety of roles across the charity.

• Work with the Warehouse Manager and Food Distribution teams to support the recruitment journey and retention of volunteers. Encourage people to volunteer through a variety of marketing and promotion approaches, including social media and working with our Communications and Fundraising team to develop a strategy for volunteers. Develop, coordinate, and engage a network of around 150 active volunteers. Book and signpost volunteers to relevant and engaging volunteer training sessions. Work with the Warehouse Manager and Head of Food Distribution and Volunteering to resolve any volunteering related issues or complaints. Proactively liaise with the staff team to determine volunteer requirements, select volunteers for the right roles and match them to the right people, considering preferences and restrictions on both sides. Provide advice and guidance to volunteers about their matched relationship (with support from the wider team) and highlight safeguarding concerns as appropriate. Work effectively to ensure volunteers feel part of Hackney Foodbank. Support the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of our services.
• Gathering volunteer feedback and take appropriate steps for improvement.
• Manage the Assemble platform and implement the annual Peakon volunteer survey, and implement the recommendations resulting from the survey.
• Ensure the wellbeing of the volunteers, including good communication and arranging a minimum of two volunteer events a year.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

• A minimum of three years’ experience of coordinating, managing or supervising a team of volunteers, to deliver a range of service delivery tasks.

Home-Start is committed to promoting the welfare of families with young children to ensure that they have the best start in life. We are recruiting a Volunteer Manager to develop a diverse team of volunteers, to support our work with families in Barnet, Brent and Harrow. As a volunteer-led organisation, the role of Volunteer Manager is central. The postholder will promote Home-Start in each of the boroughs where we work, seeking opportunities for recruitment within local communities. They will ensure that volunteers receive training, development and supervision to support the families referred us, and that high standards of practice are maintained.
