About The Phoenix Way London and South East (TPWLSE)
We are a black, brown and racially minoritised (BRM) community-led initiative working across London and South East England, with communities, groups and organisations to raise and distribute funds, transform the funding environment and build knowledge, skills and expertise in our communities. We work with BRM groups and communities to:
- overcome and reduce the inequalities and the racial injustice that frequently limit our abilities to support, strengthen and build our communities
- own and control our own funding and resources.
The Phoenix Way London and South East (TPWLSE) is hosted by Kanlungan Filipino Consortium with support from the Ubele Initiative.
Job Summary
You will take a leading role in developing and strengthening the regional and sub-regional networks of BRM groups, organisations and individuals in London and South East – these networks will both benefit from and shape the work of TPWLSE. You will also focus on building and developing the capacity (knowledge, skills and expertise) of BRM-led organisations in the region to operate effectively and successfully. This work will be carried out via networking meetings, regional and sub-regional briefings, training, fact-finding/learning sessions, group support and individual one-to-one support sessions with BRM groups and organisations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and run network development events to promote TPWLSE, to generate support for and involvement in TPWLSE’s work, to develop contacts and relationships with BRM organisations, groups and communities and to enable our learning about what support and resourcing BRM organisations and communities want and need from TPWLSE and others.
- Promote national and regional Phoenix Way funding opportunities and encourage applications. Promote funding opportunities from other funders.
- Deliver a combination of in-person, online and written briefings on funding and support available to groups and organisations in the region/sub-region.
- Set up and run training and learning events for BRM groups, organisations and communities to develop the skills, knowledge and expertise they need to operate effectively and successfully.
- Signpost organisations to capacity-building support and assist them in accessing that. Work with providers of capacity-building support to enable BRM groups and organisations to access that support.
- Develop connections with a broad range of regional, sub-regional and local stakeholders in order to steer their support, funding and resources towards and into BRM groups organisations and communities.
- Help to promote TPWLSE grant-making panels; help to recruit and support national and regional grants panel members.
- Gather and share feedback about TPWLSE’s plans activities in order to inform future plans and development. Contribute towards the evaluation of TPWLSE’s work, to include data collection/analysis and reporting to our partners and funders.
- Contribute to the circulation of regular TPWLSE news updates to network members and BRM groups and organisations in the region.
Person Specification
Experience
- Significant experience of anti-racist community development work, directly with black and racially minoritised communities.
- Significant experience of developing networks and directly outreaching with communities and groups.
- Significant experience of directly providing and/or developing and supporting projects providing infrastructure and capacity building support.
- Experience of facilitating meetings and workshops.
Knowledge
- Excellent understanding of the development and support needs of small and medium-sized community collectives, networks, groups and organisations, particularly in the black/brown voluntary and community sector.
- Excellent or very good knowledge of development and support topics for voluntary and community organisations, including fundraising; financial management; strategic, business and operational planning; people management; governance and trusteeship/directorship; legal structures of voluntary and community organisations.
Skills and competencies
- Able to work on own initiative, as well as part of a team.
- Demonstrable ability to plan and implement projects as well as meet targets and deadlines and work under pressure.
- Ability to gather, assess and evaluate information as part of evaluation and impact assessment processes.
- Strong IT skills, including the use of most Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Word and Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams. Familiarity with and ability to use other common IT products.
- Competent and confident in the use of Salesforce and other CRMs or complex databases.
- Excellent spoken and written English plus good numeracy skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with different stakeholders in one-to-one, group and large event settings.
- Good report writing skills. Ability to present and set out clear commentary, findings, conclusions and recommendations.

- Passion and commitment to anti-racist, social justice work with black and minoritised communities, organisations and groups.

Senior Youth Participation Officer
Fitzrovia Youth in Action is looking for an experienced, passionate and enthusiastic person for our Senior Youth Participation Officer role. If you feel like this is you, we would love to hear from you!
The post holder will coordinate and develop our new young people drop-in programme and additional youth action programmes, aimed at engaging local young people into the work of FYA. The successful candidate will oversee the development and delivery of the drop-in sessions, as well as deliver some youth led social action programmes. · Equip a wide range of stakeholders to enable them to create sustainable suicide safer communities through the provision of tailored support, training and education.
· Deliver training and awareness raising products to a variety of groups including professionals, parents, young people, volunteers and other trainers.
· Contribute to the development and review of projects, and education and training products, in line with the Strategic Plans.
· Contribute to and promote campaigns, training and opportunities as outlined in the Regional and Strategic Plans.
· Represent the charity at events including conferences, panels, working groups and through media channels as required.
· Record, monitor and report on data to evaluate our projects and demonstrate impact.
To be successful in this role you will have:
· Previous experience working in a community setting, delivering information and training sessions, leading workshops or educational activities
· A proven track record of networking and building and managing effective relationships, tailoring the approach to meet the differing needs of the audience
· Experience as a qualified ASIST Trainer or willingness to gain qualification and experience
· Experience of using own initiative and creativity to develop a project, programme or area of work
· The ability to travel to different locations across London and the South of England to attend meetings, events and deliver training.
Salary: £29,269 per annum (NALC Scale SCP 18) progressing by increments to £32,076 per annum (NALC Scale SCP 23). As this is a London-based role, the post-holder will receive an additional Cost of Living Allowance which is £5,000 per annum.

About the Role

ACS International Schools is currently seeking a Development Officer, to join the Development and Alumni Relations team. This is a key fundraising role, responsible for facilitating the cultivation and stewardship of relationships with prospects and donors across all three ACS campuses for various fundraising campaigns.
This role will involve spearheading the development of a new stewardship programme and supporting the implementation of a new mid-value fundraising programme. Key responsibilities:
Donor engagement and Stewardship (70%)
- Cultivating and stewarding relationships with prospective and existing and donors (under £10,000 capacity) across the three ACS campuses.
- Assisting in the development of a comprehensive stewardship programme aimed at enhancing donor engagement and retention.
- Supporting implementation of a mid-value fundraising programme to effectively solicit donations from targeted donors (under £10,000).
- Developing and delivering donor cultivation and fundraising events for parents and alumni.
- Collaborating with the development team and contributing to the overall strategy and execution of fundraising campaigns to reach annual income targets.
- Supporting identification and conversion of prospective donors to donations.
- Working with the Senior Development Manager and the Marketing department team to develop fundraising communications and appeals.
- Maintaining accurate donor and gift records on Raisers Edge (database) and ensuring timely communication and follow up.
- Supporting the development of a new Grade 12 parent fundraising communication and event programme.
- Preparing materials and presentations for donor meetings and events.
- Providing support to other development initiatives and projects as needed.
Alumni Relations
- Responding promptly to alumni enquiries and providing assistance or information as needed.
- Utilising Raisers Edge to log and track alumni communications and change of personal details ensuring accurate and up to date records.
- Co-ordinating and scheduling tours for visiting alumni and their families across all three campuses.
- Preparing materials and resources for alumni tours.
- Assisting the Marketing team in the development of alumni communication material, such as newsletters, invitations, and social media posts.
- Staying informed about alumni achievements, milestones, and news to share within the ACS community.
- Implementing the annual enrolment for Grade 12 students into the alumni programme.
- Planning and executing annual UK alumni reunions.
Essential requirements:
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively.
- Be self-disciplined and motivated.
- The ability to act as a suitable role model with a positive and forward-thinking attitude to the organisaiton and its strategic aims.

Desirable requirements:
- A strong desire to learn fundraising techniques and strategies with a commitment to professional development in this area.

- Travelling is essential, owning a car with a valid UK driving licence is desirable.
Working Pattern: 9am – 5pm, Monday - Friday. Travel between all three UK campuses is essential: this role will be based between Cobham, Egham and Hillingdon with hybrid working available.
