We are currently recruiting support workers who will be able to work on a shift pattern that will include a rolling rota with a combination of days, evenings, sleep in nights and weekends including public holidays. The role can be part time or full time. Support Workers will have to be flexible re shifts. Our supported accommodation is for young people aged 16-19 who are primarily refugees and asylum seekers and in the care of the local authority.

We are currently recruiting support workers who will work on a rota in our supported accommodation for young people aged 16-19 who are primarily refugees and asylum seekers and in the care of the local authority. These young people are preparing to live independently and we offer practical and emotional support to them.

The role requires you to record support to prepare reports, for the commissioning authority using IT as required. Familiarity with Googles docs and sheets is required.

The role of the support worker is to help young people to develop their independent living skills. This can involve being out and about with the young people – going shopping, attending interviews and appointments, support to attend college, helping them to know the area and its resources and, in the home, helping them to cook, clean and develop self-care skills. The evening / night shift is focussed more on tasks that can be completed in the placements or in groups such as cooking, cleaning, support with homework, film nights, recreational activities. Some creativity is encouraged to engage and inspire the young people.

 Alongside this you will have some responsibility for light household tasks to keep the house tidy and organised as well as undertaking health and safety checks. The time in the morning will be spent ensuring that the young people who need to be up and out are ready to attend college.

Some experience of working with young people, night working and lone working will be a big advantage.

As a member of our corporate services directorate, you will be proactive in maintaining quality and high availability IT systems by providing first and second-line IT support to over 350 staff across 4 offices and around 200 associates in a smaller capacity. If a need arises, deliver all aspects of support to enable a customer to develop independent living skills as appropriate to the individual needs of the customer. In some services, this will include delivering personal and physical care as appropriate
Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation
Participate in the support planning and risk management, as facilitated by the lead Support Worker
Carry out security duties to ensure the safety of the customers and premises
Monitor the CCTV throughout the shift
Enable customers to make full use of community facilities by providing support as directed
Carry out support duties to enable customers to integrate into the community including e.g. accompanying the customer to attend benefit agency appointments and meetings, go shopping, to enquire at colleges about possible courses, to visit various public amenities
Report any observations relating to customers welfare
Adhere to all the policies and procedures of Look Ahead Care, Support & Housing plus those specific to the project including any statutory requirements
Ensure Look Ahead Health and Safety policies and local protocols are adhered to at all times
Maintain records as required at the project under the direction of the Support Workers/ management
Participate in team meetings/reviews and the general development of the service

Helping Carers to Live Well is our organisational aim. We provide a targeted service to young carers, aged 5 – 18 years. Young carers, provide vital emotional and practical support to a family member with a care need including sibling young carers. Their care role can have an impact on their wellbeing, education and social opportunities. We are looking for someone with the skills and ability to offer a coordinated approach in supporting young carers in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

As Young Carers Support Worker you will be part of a small, dedicated team which directly deliver a range of services for young carers, including information and advice, emotional support and mentoring, promoting awareness of young carers and delivering a wide selection of group activities, both term-time and in the school holiday programme. Using all your skills, you will work with the young carers’ team to deliver, review, and continually develop services for young carers to best meet their identified needs.

With your proven knowledge of working with children and young people, families, carers or other vulnerable groups on an individual and/or group basis, you will recognise the importance of being client focused and have a commitment to enhance the lives of young carers and their families, including knowledge and awareness of sibling young carers and vulnerable families. This role will deliver Kidney Care UK’s Patient Support and Advocacy service in the region. This varied role deals with every aspect of a patient’s life that supports better outcomes: welfare benefits, practical, emotional and social support. As well as directly supporting patients, you will raise awareness of the wide range of local and national resources available to kidney patients, and build strong relationships with kidney patients, professionals, and other stakeholder groups in the region.

YMCA West Sussex Transitional housing provides safe, secure accommodation for young people aged 18-25, who have been, or are at risk of homelessness. Our staff team comprises of Supported Housing Support Workers, Mobile Night Workers and two Managers. We offer a support package alongside the accommodation to actively encourage residents into education, training, employment or voluntary work.

In delivering the role, you will work with the Deputy Supported Housing Manager and the wider housing team to provide effective day to day management of our transitional accommodation service. You will have your own caseload of residents, working creatively and effectively alongside young people to develop their assets and talents and to acquire the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives. You will contribute to the smooth and safe running of the service by providing consistency and reliability. You will have a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations. You will also support young people to safeguard themselves against abuse and risk. There will be times when lone working will be a requirement for this role.

This role is based on site in Horsham and will cover Transitional services across Horsham, Crawley, Burgess Hill and Worthing. Your working hours will be Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.

In delivering the role, you will work on a rota shift pattern, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective, and supportive staff during the day. You will work with the Managers and the wider housing team to provide effective day to day management of our accommodation project. This includes delivering one to one sessions and group work sessions to assist residents to develop personally and socially in order that they grow in confidence and move towards independence. You will help to contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations. You will also support young people to safeguard themselves against abuse and risk.

Based on site, this role is on a seven-day rolling rota, including weekends and bank holidays. There is a small amount of lone working, but you will get to know the team and project, along with extensive training prior to starting on a rota.

Carolyn House Service provides housing and support to individuals experiencing mental health issues for up to two years. We promote social inclusion and develop life skills for independent living. We also work with several agencies and organisations in the local area to meet individual customers' needs. We support customers to build confidence in order to empower them to use community resources; we promote healthy lifestyles and wellbeing and offer customers choice and control over the activities they would like to participate in.
The service is staffed 24 hours 7 days a week. All customers referred to the Service are allocated a support worker who will provide guidance and support on a range of issues and help signpost customers to relevant services located in the Redbridge Borough.
The Post holder will be expected to work on a rota basis (Monday - Sunday) and two sleep-ins per week which attracts £30.00 extra pay.The shift patterns are 8.00 am - 4.00pm, 2.00 pm - 10.00 pm and sleep ins.
