We are recruiting a Project Coordinator to oversee the delivery and development of a flagship Community Wellbeing Project, which operates in partnership with Brent Council. The project is a Community Hub hosted in a community space in Stonebridge (not in Sufra’s existing premises). Members of the project can access a Community Shop, a Community Café and Kitchen, and holistic support in the form of Advice casework and workshops. The objective of the project is to deliver food aid alongside wraparound holistic support in way that improves the financial, physical and mental wellbeing of its members, who are struggling with the cost of living.
This collaborative project has been made possible due to the support of multiple partners and has already proven highly successful. It is likely to form the basis of a new model of support for people experiencing vulnerabilities that will be replicated across Brent and possibly elsewhere in London.
The Project Coordinator will oversee the delivery of the project, ensuring both the shop and the café operate effectively and in accordance with agreed standards and procedures. The successful candidate will help shape the project in the months ahead, whilst supporting guests, collecting data, and monitoring and evaluating the project. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a busy and varied environment, managing multiple priorities at the same time. They will have experience in a customer-facing role, dealing with the general public and managing volunteers. It would be beneficial for the post holder to have experience supporting vulnerable people with complex needs from a wide variety of backgrounds. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for members that sign onto the pilot project, and will be representing the organisation to external partners. This is an exciting new role to develop a peer support group for people recently diagnosed with dementia and their family carers and to co produce a programme of activities so that they can continue to engage in stimulating activities in the community.

In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, organisation and delivery of Picker's programme of events. This will include two in-person conferences with attendees from across the United Kingdom as well as regular online events during the year. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective planning and delivery. You will also be responsible for the planning of Picker's presence at sponsored events and exhibitions, working with colleagues from across the organisation to ensure that the Group are appropriately represented and present a credible and compelling offer.
This is a new role in the organisation, intended to support colleagues and to take a lead in our growing programme of events. There is established practice to build on from existing national conferences as well as opportunities to develop new types of engagements.
In this role
In this role you will:
- Work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to plan a programme of events for the year, ensuring that these align to the Group’s charitable and commercial objectives.
- Work with internal stakeholders and external partners to develop detailed plans for each event, including working with subject matter experts to design appropriate agendas.
- Lead for Picker on the administration of events
- Attend events, providing first line support to colleagues, partners, and attendees on the day. This will include occasional travel, usually within the United Kingdom.
- Lead on the evaluation of events to ensure that they are effective in addressing Picker’s strategic goals and to enable continuous learning and improvement in our future planning.
- Maintain a working knowledge of relevant regulations to ensure that all events are compliant: this will include legislation on Data Protection (eg UKGDPR); Health and Safety; and Equalities
About you
You will have:
- Demonstrable experience in planning and delivering a range of successful events, including both digital and in-person events.
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with people from a diverse range of personal and professional backgrounds.
- Understanding of relevant legislation related to events planning and delivery, including data protection, health and safety, and equalities / accessibility.
- Excellent attention to detail

As the Communications Coordinator you will work closely with the wider Communications team, C2030 Engagement staff, project partners and appointed consultants, you will have an eye for a good story and create compelling content to showcase the programme as it develops.
You will help coordinate communications activity and ensure it is timely, audience-focused, and appropriately rolled out to the communities, groups and individuals we need to engage in C2030.

About You:
To be considered as our Communications Coordinator, you’ll need:
• Experience of managing or co-ordinating comms for a variety of projects and / or events
• Excellent communication skills, both presentation and written, with an ability to work constructively with a range of partners

Burnhope Community Centre is a brand-new, purpose-built facility that opened in 2017. Following Covid we have seen substantial growth of our activities and projects that serve our community. We currently run two toddler groups per week, an after-school Kids Club, carpet bowls, a walking group, Pilates, Zumba, Keep moving and other fitness classes. The role:
The postholder will be responsible for the design, implementation and delivery of safe, creative and stimulating community play sessions and support groups at venues across Greater Manchester. You will ensure that a range of creative and enjoyable activities are offered to babies and children aged 0-5. What we offer:
This is a part time (15 hours per week), fixed term position until 1st June 2025 initially. The role is home based but significant amounts of time are spent working in the community and some weekend working is required, this is likely to be at least one Saturday per month.
You will receive a salary of £28,000 (pro rata to £11,200 for 15 hours per week) dependent on experience and benefits include 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata to working hours) and a Christmas closure.

About the Foundation:
The Avicenna Foundation was set up in 2023 to to support outstanding young British Muslims by providing them with scholarships for their undergraduate degree. The scholarships are mainly focused on awarding scholarships in the Social Sciences and Humanities for those interested in politics, policy-making and becoming agents of positive change.
Alongside the scholarship, the Avicenna Foundation runs a development programme for the scholars to expand their skills and abilities in various areas like leadership, communication and collaboration.
The Foundation has developed immensely in the first year with the launch of the charity; onboarding of it’s first cohort of 30 scholars and the development of a leadership programme. It now needs propelling into the next stage as the charity develops to ensure a robust charity structure and programme in place.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the charity, and manage changes required within programmes and activities as a result of changing external landscapes or contexts.
- Implement strategies for advertising the scholarships, receiving and reviewing applications, shortlisting candidates, conducting interviews, and making final selection decisions. Some of these things are already in place and may need reviewing and enhancing.
- Work with the Scholar Development Coordinator to oversee the leadership development programme, provide guidance and help the programme to grow.
- Maintain regular communication with the scholars, their progress, and address any issues or concerns that may arise.
- Ensure programme objectives and outcomes align with the overall strategy and aims of the Foundation, and are realistic and achievable within timeframes and budgets.
- Organise any events, programmes necessary to the scholars.
- Use data to track progress and drive improvement; proactively manage risks; and ensure effective use of the Foundation’s resources and budgets allocated to you.
Governance:
- Provide leadership and guidance to achieve consistency of governance across all of the Foundation’s activities, from development, delivery, measurement and evaluation and reporting perspectives.
- Regular communication and updates to the board, prepare board papers and contribute to Trustee meetings as required.
- Create, maintain and ensure continued adoption of governance frameworks, policies and templates.
