Job description

Night time Support Worker - Waking Shift

  • Hourly Rate - £12 per hour
  • 24+ Hour post including weekends - overtime and cover work available
  • 5.6 weeks Holidays (Pro Rata)
  • Company Pension Scheme

This role will be at Room at the Inn @Museum Street, our 24 hour supported accommodation project.

Our aim is to provide support and short term accommodation for people aged 18+ who are homeless. To assist them to work towards independent housing by providing a settled address, personal action plan and suitable life skills programme.

The duties of this role would include:

~ Developing a personal action plan with residents

~ Assisting residents to access relevant services i.e. GP’s, Dentists, Emergency services if required

~ Assisting residents to attend relevant courses, encouraging confidence and life skills

~ Engaging with service residents to promote well-being, and progress with move on accommodation

~ Working as part of a friendly and supportive staff team

~ Attending Staff and Planning Meetings

~ Attending Staff Supervision

~ Ensuring daily Health and Safety and cleanliness of the buildings communal areas – ready for the following day, these tasks need to be done during the night shift period of 9pm – 9am

~ Room cleaning and turnarounds – ready for new residents, any other relevant additional duties as appropriate within the scheme 

Person Specification

Essential

~ Good computer skills, ability to send emails and use general office related software

~ Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with people with challenging behaviour

~ Good problem solving and listening skills and a non judgemental attitude

~ Ability to work and communicate with a diverse range of people from different backgrounds

~ Knowledge of Homeless Issues, including knowledge of Mental Health and Neurodiversity, learning difficulties, drug/alcohol and other addiction issues

~ Knowledge of relevant support agencies in the Warrington area and nationally

~ Ability to undertake daily cleaning duties to a high standard and report any health and Safety issues at morning handover for the day staff to action


Desirable

~ Relevant NVQ or experience in social care or support work

~ Driving License

~ Knowledge regarding Kitchen Hygiene
