We are recruiting for a Children’s Support Worker who will be working closely with children and their mothers who are escaping domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse, to provide personal welfare support and ensure that our clients are provided with a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment. The post holder will support children who have witnessed or experienced domestic violence and plan and provide stimulating, safe, and appropriate play opportunities.
Travel across Warwickshire is required, therefore, the use of a car essential to the role.
Please note that this post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies. An enhanced DBS will also be required.

Bank Support Workers have the ability to accept any shifts available on an ad-hoc basis across from all of Look Ahead's specialisms including Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Homelessness and Young People. Bank Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. They will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices. Within Learning Disability services, this will include providing physical, domestic, emotional and social care. Within Mental Health and Homelessness services they will enable vulnerable people living in a variety of different tenures to manage their tenancies/ licences and move towards greater independence within the community by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package.
While carrying out activities, Bank Support Workers should deal with all customers, visitors and staff in a professional and appropriate manner and report to Look Ahead staff and management any observations relating to customers' welfare.
This role is only suitable for drivers.

What you'll do:
- Working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities

The Exempt Accommodation Support Service is a new project based at our main hub in Digbeth but providing outreach support across a number of locations in the city. We are looking for housing and substance misuse workers to provide flexible, person-centred support to people aged 18 years plus who are homeless, have a history of homelessness or who are at risk of becoming homeless. It will primarily be supporting people living in exempt accommodation who have support needs relating to addiction and who are in active treatment or contemplating treatment.
The aims of this service are to provide additional support to improve access and sustainment of suitable accommodation for people engaging in structured drug and alcohol treatment, to reduce the scale of unmet housing need for this group of clients and to build evidence of housing-related need and effective interventions. The service will provide a range of practical support around finances, health and wellbeing, access to volunteering or training opportunities and integration into local communities as well as supporting continued engagement with treatment and tenancy sustainment.
This post is for 35 hours per week fixed term for one year initially.
This post requires to :-
Provide a person centred service to individuals taking a psychologically informed approach to advice and support ensuring that clients are given choice and control about how their support is delivered.
Assist with practical support such as travel issues, settling into accommodation and addressing any immediate accommodation issues.
Ensure individuals have access to key services, including health care, substance misuse, and wellbeing services.
Manage an active caseload of clients, keeping effective and up to date records and monitoring outcomes through our CRM database system.
To support with timely reporting information regarding visits, support plans and session notes
To work with clients in first step of their recovery pathway, to provide individualised and strengths based support to promote their ongoing engagement in treatment and sustainment of tenancies to support this.
Working alongside our Housing Transitions Team to raise any issues around the standards and quality of exempt accommodation and to work collaboratively with providers to resolve concerns.
Signpost and refer clients into appropriate support services locally or citywide, to ensure they are able to access the support they need to stay safe and to start to live a healthier, happier life.
Build effective, positive rapport with clients, maintaining professional boundaries and fostering trust.
Work alongside and in partnership with other advice hubs and Housing Options teams based at other sites across the city to process referrals quickly and efficiently and to work collaboratively with other agencies and organisations to ensure high quality service delivery.
Support the Team Lead and Service Manager to monitor the take up and impact of service and the client journey, including case studies and data capture.
Work alongside volunteers and other staff teams to provide a safe, inclusive, effective and supportive service.
To assist client in arears such as budgeting and money management, benefits claims and understanding their housing rights and responsibilities.
Ensure safeguarding issues are accurately identified and reported promptly in line with SIFA Fireside’s Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults policy.
Keep up to date with relevant legislation, training and best practice and to work in alignment with the organisational values and in accordance with SIFA Fireside policies and procedures.

Brendan House is a 24-hour, nonclinical, Short Term Crises Intervention Service. The service provides accommodation for a period of up to six nights, for those with mild to medium mental health problems, who are experiencing a mental health crisis that requires a safe and supportive place to stay, in order to avoid admission to hospital or A&E. We provide 1-1 daily Support Sessions which are designed to help individuals to work through the period of Crises, identifying relevant coping strategies with professional support, with the view of maintaining wellbeing.
We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in.
Some relevant experience within a similar role would be beneficial, although full training will be provided. Father Hudson’s Care (FHC) is the social care agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Birmingham. We require an experienced senior manager to lead our Community Projects Department. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Senior Management Team and be part of a regional charity with a very diverse range of services.
Suitable candidates will have extensive experience in developing and managing services/projects in a community setting and in management of senior staff. With a proven track record in securing funding, you will have a good understanding of a wide range of income streams and be able to manage complex budgets. With experience of networking and partnership working, the successful candidate will have excellent negotiation and communication skills. Our Homeless Health Peer Advocacy service supports people experiencing homelessness to access healthcare. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our committed team of volunteer peer advocates to improve clients’ access to health services.

About the role
As a Peer Advocate, you will support people experiencing homelessness to review their health needs and access health services. Purpose of the role:
We are looking for candidates with experience of supporting individuals with barriers to work into paid employment. Within this role you will carry a significant responsibility, managing a caseload of clients from a refugee background and supporting them in securing meaningful employment, training, and education opportunities.
You will provide one-to-one personalised support, delivering quality Information Advice and Guidance (IAG), alongside ongoing support to ensure your clients have all the skills they need to get into work. This involves working with clients to produce individual action plans with clear goals and actions to overcome identified needs and barriers and provide a clear pathway towards the labour market.
You will work with clients online and by phone, as well as in person to monitor their progress towards their goals. Complementary support will be delivered through our volunteers who are trained in delivering employment advice, and you will book weekly appointments for clients, allocating time slots according to availability and the volunteer’s specialty.

Based in Smethwick, Brushstrokes Community Project works with asylum seekers, refugees and new communities across Dudley, Sandwell and West Birmingham and has been providing Advice, ESOL, Practical Support, Health information and advocacy and community activities since 1999.
Brushstrokes community project has been providing advice and support for asylum seekers, refugees and new communities for the past 24 years. We require an experienced OISC accredited Immigration Advisor (Level 2 or 3) to join our growing team as part of a Justice Together Initiative funded project in the West Midlands.
With a detailed understanding of immigration law, strong advice and drafting skills you will ensure individuals understand their rights under UK immigration law and are assisted in resolving their immigration matters. Attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines and communicate complex information to clients that enables them to make informed decisions on their options, you will have a track record that demonstrates a client centred ethos in your work.
Possessing good administration, planning, evaluation and communication skills you will have the ability to develop strong and effective relationships with other agencies. Our Bank Welfare Officers will provide direct and impactful welfare support to RAF personnel and their immediate family on an ad hoc basis when a full-time member of the team is unavailable to do so.

About you
To thrive in this role you will have relevant experience of supporting adults, families and children/young people. You will be able to take a flexible and creative approach to problem solving. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to deliver presentations with confidence.

It would be advantageous if you have experience of carrying out assessments, preparing plans, monitoring and reviewing outcomes.
