About the role
We are the largest membership body for voluntary organisations in England. The needs of communities are diverse and ever-changing. This means the role charities play, and what they need, constantly evolve.
We hold a wealth of data. We need our data to become meaningful insight that helps tell the story of our members and the sector. Both to aid internal strategic decision making and to influence external audiences.
The insight lead will be integral to realising this ambition ‒ combining our analytical and sector research with our internal data. They will establish NCVO’s Insight Hub which will house the highest quality data and insight, and be respected and valued by external stakeholders.
We’re already revered for our Almanac and other research projects, which the insight lead will further expand. They will also develop the strategy, review our research programme, and embed a culture of using insights across the organisation.
This is a dual role. The insight lead will act as a champion for the voice of the customer internally – ensuring business decisions and strategic priorities are based on insight, and that we’re collecting and managing data in the most compliant way.
They will also take a strong external leadership approach ‒ looking for partners, technologies, AI solutions and funding opportunities so we can strengthen what we know about the sector, and how we report and share information. They will review our existing approach to research and harness opportunities from our unique perspective.

The key responsibilities we entrust you with
Project support
- Contribute to outreach to project stakeholders, Community Members, partners & event attendees, answering and directing queries and scheduling appointments and virtual/ in-person meetings
- Organise meeting logistics, agenda preparation, notetaking, audio recording and the tracking and implementation of follow up actions and communications
- Carry out background research, review documents, and gather and analyse information using templates and tools such as Excel
- Coordinate project processes, including implementing procurement procedures, drafting contracts with consultants (based on ISEAL templates) and maintaining project-related systems
- Maintain web pages related to event and programme activities and support email and social media campaigns; upload blogs, documents, and resources
- Support drafting and production of relevant newsletters, website articles, and report sections
- Proof-read, edit, design, and format documents in Word and Powerpoint, using ISEAL templates

Essential attributes, skills & knowledge
- Experience working in a project or stakeholder commnications role, in a highly collaborative environment such as an international NGO

- Experience and comfort working with subject matter of a niche or specialist nature, possibly gained through data analysis, project communications, and/or the review and analysis of data sets, academic research, technical reports, and policy documents
- Strong organisational skills, and experience with administration, meeting coordination, logistics, contracts, budget tracking, etc.
- Confidence in communications with peers and external partners, comfortable in public speaking situations (e.g. webinars, workshops etc)

We are currently recruiting for a F2F Fundraising Performance Coach's. The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of excellent fundraising results and fundraising compliance standards and specifically the delivery of performance improvements in our F2F fundraisers through coaching, training, and continuous development. The role will also involve direct fundraising where you will be expected to meet a personal target.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for coaching the performance of multiple teams in the region that will consist of lone workers, pairs of fundraisers to bigger teams as the income plan increases.
- Responsible for an individual fundraising target and set of KPI’s that include inspiring people to become long-term monthly donors, generating income through contactless one-off donations and acquiring newsletter prospecting sign ups in a range of locations including residential door-to-door, town and city centres, private venues, and events and more commonly on our private land, the canal and river Towpaths.
- Acting as a hands-on fundraiser who leads by example, delivering fundraising income through signing up Friends and generating contactless income whilst demonstrating the Canal & River Trust ‘s values and behaviours.
- Generating income and being present on-site to visit fundraising teams, fundraise with them, cover sickness absence, coach performance, provide training & development of fundraisers, reinforce our culture of health & safety, embed compliance standards.
- Provide phone coaching and in-person coaching of fundraisers to support meeting their targets and KPI’s and in individual cases working with fundraisers to improve their results from their current level of performance to the required standard by equipping them with the technical and psychological training to work to their very best.

Role Requirements
• Act as a trusted, technical specialist for our business systems, by developing a comprehensive and rigorous knowledge-base of the software architecture, whilst overseeing its maintenance and ensuring the department (and by extension, the organisation) benefits from its full capabilities.

What the role involves
Key responsibilities
1. Ensuring that there are regular training opportunities for both new starters and those requiring refresher sessions or updates when new functions or forms are released.
2. Running system training drop-in sessions to assist with queries / hear feedback, and relaying information from these to the Information Governance and IT manager.
3. Working with the Learning and Development Coordinator to establish an evaluation method and implement this to enable us to assess the effectiveness of each training session and using this to improve future delivery.
4. Produce effective training materials and guidance documents, and develop and maintain a training area on our case recording system, including the creation of dummy forms and files for new users to access and use as a training sandbox.
5. Producing and maintaining a catalogue of training resources, ensuring links to practice-based guidance are established and maintained.
6. Performing case recording system changes to forms and lists as directed by the Information Governance and IT Manager
7. Support the Data Reporting and System Support Lead with regards to user administration and user support at times of absence and increased need
8. Supporting with training on additional systems directed by the Information Governance and IT Manager, including on the efficient use of SharePoint and Teams
9. Developing training courses for various systems, using our LMS (currently Rise)
10. Acting at all times in line with safeguarding legislation and guidance in addition to Safer London’s practice guidelines and wider pan-London processes and protocols.
11. Undertaking any other duties as required and commensurate with the level of this post.

The Position
The Communications and Marketing team works to build the Fund’s brand presence and visibility with key audiences, delivers campaigns to grow its digital community and pipeline of individual donors, and leads on strategic communications projects to further the organization’s programmatic and developmental objectives. Within this role, you'll work closely with both the Power Platform team and the Project team for Age UK's newly released Volunteering Hub to advise on both capabilities and limitations of the Power Platform service offering.
This role would be a fantastic progression for functional consultants wishing to take a more hands-on approach, as well as those aspiring to become a solution architect.
As a Power Platform Developer, you will be responsible for the continuous delivery of the Power Platform. You'll work on some of the most cutting-edge portals in development today, including Power Platform, Dynamics 365, and Microsoft Azure architecture.
With specific responsibility for leading on Age UK's Volunteering Hub, you'll work closely with both the Power Platform Team and project team for Age UK's newly released Volunteering Hub. You will be a bridge between stakeholders and development, translating requirements into development tasks and deployed solutions.
You will be adept at leveraging new approaches to solutions for system design and functionality. You will be highly experienced in product development and have demonstrated technical mastery throughout.
You'll have a passion for technology and the drive to build our enterprise systems, combined with an in-depth knowledge and experience across multiple core areas of Power Platforms. You will work with global and offshore teams to establish and maintain PowerApps and Power Platform technology.

This role offers hybrid working between home and one of our regional offices in either London, Ashburton (Devon), Blackpool or Warrington. You'll attend team meetings once a month from your linked office.
Must haves:
* Solid understanding of design practices and system architecture and have contributed to creating reference architecture and standards towards security best practises for wider engineering usage.
* Experience of conducting design and code reviews.
* Experience applying organisation's security strategy across multiple teams.
* Strong communication skills along with ability to lead a team towards a great product.
* General knowledge of automation/technology landscape to manage business processes.
* A wealth of hands-on experience with Power Apps and Power Platform technical solutions.
* Strong understanding of Azure offerings such as (but not limited to) B2C Tenants, B2B Collaboration, API Management Service, Storage Accounts, Function Apps, App Registrations and Application Insights.
* At least one relevant Microsoft Certification (intermediate/associate level or above).
* Core Skills: Power Apps (Model-Driven+Canvas), Dataverse, Power Apps Portals/Power Pages, Power Automate, plugins, classic Dataverse workflows, business process flows, Continuous Delivery using Azure DevOps, C#, Javascript, CSS and HTML.
Great to haves:
* Understanding of SQL, .Net, D365 CRM, PCF Controls, Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Synapse.
