Location: Homebased, based in the North West
The postholder will be expected to deliver face to face to face LifeSkills sessions within the North West, primarily but not exclusively in Greater Manchester. They will also be expected to travel occasionally to other areas of the country for meetings (eg team meetings).

About LifeSkills
The LifeSkills programme will offer groups of families the chance to come together to a trusted venue such as a children’s centre or community setting. As well as offering opportunities for families to spend quality time together and have access to healthy food, these sessions will offer LifeSkills workshops for parents and carers to build their confidence, social networks, financial and employability skills. Examples include but are not limited to overcoming setbacks, managing debt, boosting confidence to return to work, CV writing, interview skills. The aims of the LifeSkills programme are to support participants to increase their confidence and 21st century skills, move closer to training/volunteering/employment, improve their social networks, and grow their confidence to provide low cost and nutritious meals.
The role involves delivering LifeSkills sessions to groups of families in the Greater Manchester area. The postholder will also be the main point of contact for delivery partners hosting programmes (e.g. small charities, schools) and staff and volunteers delivering sessions, and be expected to respond promptly to a wide range of queries and requests for support. Examples might include, for instance, devising LifeSkills programmes for different cohorts, presenting to potential partners, devising risk assessments, recording data, and visiting and providing guidance and support for staff and volunteers delivering sessions in venues across the country.

This new Legacies Manager role is an exciting opportunity to deliver Speech and Language UK's first proactive legacy programme, which is a key part of their new strategy.
For 1.9 million children in the UK, learning to talk and understand words feels like an impossible hurdle. Speech and Language UK helps children with communication disabilities and provides a unique combination of specialist therapy, teaching and care for children, information for families, and training for teachers and other professionals.

As Legacies Manager, you will develop, manage and grow the organisation’s legacies portfolio, including securing legacy pledges and stewarding donors who have chosen to leave a legacy gift.
There is an option to work remotely (UK-based) or hybrid (2dpw in Islington office) for this 21 hours a week, part-time role – please discuss options and FTE implications with Joe.
As Legacies Manager, you will:
- Work alongside the Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships to develop and implement Legacies operational plans to maximize income in line with agreed targets
- Lead and manage relationships with legacy supporters to achieve and exceed income targets
- Provide insight and learning so that the charity can optimize its initiatives both in lifetime-giving and legacy fundraising
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with a portfolio of actual and potential legacy supporters
Ideal skills and experience:
- Proven track record in legacy giving
- Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining relationships with legacy supporters
- Strong understanding of relationship fundraising and legacy giving, including the latest trends and opportunities

The Compass Project is a Bristol Social Enterprise founded in April 2012 set up for and informed by people in Recovery from Addiction and its related Mental Health and Social Consequences, and managed by a team of skilled professionals and trained mentors. Its main focus is to help others recovering from addiction and mental health issues, so they can receive the support, skills and direction to enable them to feel, empowered, and be confident enough that they have the necessary skills to move into mainstream society and live lives that are free from the harmful consequences of Addiction, living freely, happily, autonomously and independently.
Compass supports the teaching of skills such as IT, English, CV Building, Driving, Retail Sales & Management, Recycling, Gardening, Property Maintenance, Furniture Restoration, Handy Man Services, Managing Donations, Stock Management, Customer Service, Time & Attitude & Behaviour Management, Self-Management, Conflict Management, Relational Confidence, Building Supportfull and Enabling Relationships. Job Purpose
The Engagement Lead is an exciting and important role that leads delivery of Babbasa’s Challenge
Programme - a 5 year programme focussed on working with a group of aspiring young people to
develop their leadership potential, skills and sense of self confidence through a stimulating and
experiential training course, delivering a social action project and participating in 1:1 mentoring
sessions. The Challenge Programme is the flagship Babbasa programme and has delivered some
powerful initiatives in Bristol to date such as the Youth Ambassadors City of Change campaign
and the ‘Our Bristol Our World’ Youth Conference working closely with Bristol’s elected Mayor.
The post is funded by The National Lottery (TNL) Reaching Communities Fund and has been
nominated as a national case study example of the Lottery’s community projects.
Core Responsibilities
● Deliver outreach workshops to young people in education and community settings aimed at
increasing their sense of confidence, belonging and empowerment.
● Deliver and facilitate Babbasa’s workshop and training activities including the recruitment,
enrolment and induction of participants (Youth Ambassadors) onto the Challenge
programme.
● Design and deliver weekly training and workshop materials through the use of appropriate
teaching, learning and assessment methods - with the aim of encouraging critical thinking,
debates and developing the ability of participants to engage in critical discourse and rational
thinking. Including the incorporation of experiential leadership development opportunities
and trips e.g. to the UK Parliament or social impact organisations with high impact.
● Build a trusting relationship (based on Babbasa values) with young people engaged - to
ensure we meet their progression outcome and identify/address any health and safety,
disability, equality, concerns or welfare issues.
● Lead a group of young people in the delivery of a social action project which develops their
employability and enterprise knowledge and experience
● Support Youth Ambassadors to engage successfully with businesses and city wide voluntary
organisations, schools, colleges and local youth agencies on the social action project.
● Coordinate a mentoring scheme after the social action project, which includes matching,
training, and facilitation of first meetings and reviewing progress of mentoring pairs.
● Monitor and evaluate each of the core elements of the Challenge programme and assist to
produce a final report after the 6-month programme cycle.
General Responsibilities
● Ensure young peoples’ comments, voices and suggestions are at the heart of service
delivery and respond to their needs.
● Ensure internal administrative tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner as
required by Babbasa and the activity funder.

Knowledge and Experience
