Chalk Farm Tenant Management Organisation (TMO) is looking for a competent leader with a passion for social housing to manage our housing organisation.
Located close to the historic Camden Market, the TMO provides housing services and community activities for residents of the estate. Sustainably funded by Camden Council long term, this is an ideal opportunity for a candidate with experience in management and a real interest in social housing, who values the autonomy of working in a small and close knit organisation.
As estate manager, your main duties will be to:

Give the TMO the strategy it needs to deliver an excellent housing service for residents.

Ensure that the TMO is adequately and responsibly resourced.

Ensure that the TMO complies with the Management Agreement signed with Camden Council, all applicable legislation, and current best practice.

Provide effective day-to-day leadership, management and supervision of staff.

Uphold a service culture which puts residents’ satisfaction at the heart of delivery.

Ensure the effective delivery of the TMO’s housing management functions.

Work in partnership with the committee to deliver continuous improvement and good value across all TMO managed and contracted services.
This could be you if you have:

4 years+ experience of managing staff, and at least 2 years experience of reporting to a board;

good knowledge of housing law or current issues relating to social housing;

experience in procuring contracts and managing contractors;
-
a proactive, can-do attitude, and an ability to motivate a team;
-
excellent numerical and IT literacy, including a record of preparing and scrutinising budgets;

Either a Level 4 Certificate in Housing, or an undergraduate degree (2:1 or above), and are prepared to enrol in the 1 year online Level 4 course by the Chartered Institute for Housing.
The TMO is prepared to fund the Level 4 course, and to support a bright manager with a successful track record of delivery to transition into social housing.

About the role
As News and Media Manager, you will lead a hard-working and experienced team of media experts to bring to life Crisis’ work, demonstrate the solutions needed to tackle homelessness and inspire the public and politicians to join our mission to end it for good. You will oversee the development and delivery of high-profile media and communications campaigns, including our annual Christmas appeal, helping to build our brand. You will have significant experience of working in a challenging, fast-paced news and media environment to secure high-profile coverage and championing the voices of marginalised people. Experience and knowledge of managing and influencing senior internal and external stakeholders is essential in this role, as is the ability to navigate competing priorities to develop and implement creative media strategies that reach a diverse range of audiences.
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge and experience of working with the media to help secure policy change at a national government level, outstanding people and project management skills and proven experience when it comes to handling reputational risk. You will also have exceptional news sense, with the ability to take a creative approach when seeking out new media opportunities.

About the role
We are looking for an expert on homelessness legislation (the Homelessness Reduction Act) and relevant housing legislation to contribute to Crisis’ mission of ending homelessness. You will provide advice and casework covering complex areas of both housing and homelessness legislation to frontline employees working directly with people experiencing homelessness and at risk of homelessness in England. You will be an advocate for our members, by using housing law knowledge to request temporary housing from local authorities, for those who are street homeless. You will have the opportunity to produce housing law briefings, template letters and a toolkit of resources including checklists to support staff when working with beneficiaries.
About you

About the role
Title: Housing Access Officer - known internally as Housing Procurement Officer

You’ll join our London Wide Services at an exciting time, helping to deliver an outstanding pan London property access service across the private and social rented sector and contributing to the delivery of Housing First. Working alongside a variety of services across the organisation, you will identify housing opportunities, negotiate new partnerships, nurture existing relationships, and strive to establish routes into sustainable housing for people who have experienced homelessness by working with Landlords across London.
It’s a role requiring a creative approach and strong negotiation skills as you partner with both Landlords and Crisis’ Client Services. You will be responsible for bringing two sectors together and ensuring the interest of everyone involved are looked after, supporting the creation of tenancies that end people’s homelessness. The role is pan London, and you will work collaboratively with our 3 London services to ensure tenants receive the support they need to sustain their homes. Crisis is also in the process of establishing a brand new lettings agency, in partnership with Homes for Good – Scotland’s award winning social enterprise letting agency. You’ll also need experience of working in a customer-focused environment or service and an understanding of the issues associated with individuals who may have complex support needs. Comfortable working in partnership with other key agencies and local communities, you’re also adept at identifying and monitoring key compliance in respect of health & safety requirements relating to properties and tenants. About the role
As the Head of Service for TST North, you'll be at the forefront of driving positive change and ensuring the smooth operation of SHP’s largest Tenancy Support Service. With a focus on both day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing specialised projects and ensuring the delivery of high-quality personalised support housing-related and Move-On support.
The Head of Service for TST (North) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Tenancy Support Team (North) and bespoke projects that support the delivery of the main service. TST North comprises two distinct services funded via the Greater London Authority (GLA) – TST North (main contract), which offers tenancy and Move-on support to 1200 clients housed through the Clearing House Scheme, and TST North PRS which supports 200 clients housed in Private Rented Sector Accommodation.
The Head of TST will hold overall responsibility for motivating and managing the 50+ staff team, ensuring exceptional service delivery, targets are achieved, and clients receive the best possible support to enable them to sustain their tenancies. The Head of TST is required to demonstrate strong commercial awareness, be able to use KPI and outcome data to influence service delivery.
The post holder is required to be agile and dynamic in their approach to engaging and managing the multiple stakeholder relationships across all North London Boroughs, including the development and management of relationships with Private Rented Sector landlords and agents to ensure that Move-on targets are achieved. There is a strong focus on the development of processes, policies, and procedures that promote the key ambitions of the service and respond to changes in service delivery, either due to shifting funding priorities or the launch of new bespoke projects.
About you
- Experience in leading large and dispersed teams in either supported housing, advice, homelessness, or other relevant environment.
- Ability to manage multiple service priorities and commissioner/external stakeholders' demands and to remain motivated in a demanding and target-driven role.
- Experience in producing, analysing, and interpreting complex reports and statistics for use in service monitoring or planning.
- A strong understanding of the techniques aims and objectives of working with street homeless people, including those facing multiple disadvantages.
- An enthusiasm and well-developed skill for placing service users at the heart of service delivery and developing services based on their experience.
- Experience of financial planning for service delivery; budgetary responsibility and control. Wide-ranging knowledge of housing pathways and Move-on routes for people moving from housing with support to independence (hostels, Private Rented Sector, and social housing).

About the project
In an innovative partnership with Southwark Council, Southwark Law Centre, and Impact for Urban Health, we’ve been supporting close to 200 private renters over the last 3 years who have been threatened with eviction by their landlords, or are living in temporary accommodation, to sustain their tenancies and/or find onward housing in the social or private sector that is suitable for their health, needs and aspirations.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and passionate support worker to take up a full-time role within our organisation as a Housing Support Practitioner in our small and dedicated team. The role will be based mostly in Southwark, and you will be working in partnership with the Council’s housing officers, solicitors, community services, social prescribers, and mental health support workers to coordinate tailored support for each client to avoid eviction and sustain tenancies, mediating with landlords where necessary and providing advice for onward housing when needed with the support of the Housing Link Worker. The objectives of these programmes are to avoid evictions, sustain tenancies or move to a better suited property, increase employment opportunities, improve wellbeing, and increase educational outcomes. You will be working in partnership with other stakeholders such as schools and health professionals to improve family health, build relationships and engage families and individuals and their networks of support.
About you
You will have experience of working with individuals with complex needs. You will be an enthusiastic person who is self-motivated, confident and thrives when working independently with a passion to support change. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, experience delivering holistic support, be a solution-minded thinker, have a good understanding of strength-based approaches and be able work sensitively and empathetically with people in vulnerable circumstances. You will also have experience working in a systemic and therapeutic way. It is also important to us that you have the competency to work with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds. This is a busy and hands-on role where each day is different, and you will be based in our office in Southwark, at home, and in the community doing occasional home visits. The role will provide you with support and supervision from our experienced project manager, as well as the flexibility to work to your clients' needs. The area of Prevention supports vulnerable people by providing them with skills, housing advice, accommodation, and tenancy sustainment support. All the services within the area of prevention work to help people transition towards leading independent lives.
We are looking for a Senior Employment Specialist to join the Lambeth Individual Placement Support Service team.
As a Senior Employment Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Providing exceptional support to people with mental health issues into suitable and sustainable employment.
- Assertively engaging with people from referral, into work and beyond for sustainment, offering comprehensive support in skills identification and practical guidance.
- Playing a crucial role in supporting sustained success for people and employers post-employment.
- Establishing relationships with key stakeholders in mental health teams, with employers and skills providers for effective referrals and successful outcomes whilst supporting senior managers to compile monthly and quarterly data for reporting submissions.
- Ensuring accurate data collection, recording and maintenance of an up-to-date case management system.
- Managing volunteers and support the induction process as and when required and attending regular meetings with Mental Health teams.
To succeed as a Senior Employment Specialist, you will have:
- Knowledge and experience of providing employment support to vulnerable people.
- Experience with communicating and building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- To be able to empower and motivate people to help build confidence and resilience.
- To be organised, have good time-management skills, and be able to keep clear and up-to-date records.
- Experience of working independently.
- Excellent IT and administrative skills.
