Job Description

The IRC UK’s Finance Team seeks to achieve excellence in financial management by providing accurate and timely financial information to IRC management and programs and by adhering to established financial practices and accounting principles. We do this by supporting the UK office; by implementing and monitoring IRC and donor policies and procedures; leading financial forecasting and planning, proactive risk management; consolidating financial results; and ensuring reliable financial reporting (internal and external).

The Finance Assistant – Operations assists the UK Finance team in delivering its objectives and providing effective support to IRC UK. This position works closely with the UK Finance and Operations department, wider UK office and suppliers. Furthermore, the incumbent plays a key role in ensuring that Finance remains a critical organizational business partner delivering accurate, insightful, and timely financial management information.

The role is part of the UK Finance Team and reports to the Finance Manager – Operations.

Major Responsibilities

•  Maintain accurate files for supplier invoices, staff expenses claims, petty cash and credit card expenses

•  Assist in maintaining an up to date – London Finance mailbox, ensuring mails are dealt with in a timely manner.

•Check and prepare invoice journals for all direct debits and ensure supporting invoices and approval are filed.

•  Assist with NATWEST bank income and payment journals and the bank reconciliation.

•  Post invoices and credit notes in Integra (Dynamics 365), ensuring authorization, budget codes and supporting documents have been provided in a timely manner for payment runs.

•  Reconcile supplier statements to creditor accounts in Integra and follow up any queries to ensure they are dealt with in a timely fashion

•  Arrange travel advances for staff, check all staff expense claims for compliance with IRC-UK Travel Policy and reconcile against advances in Integra.

•Reconciliation of credit card expenses in Integra.

•Prepare correction journals and post on Integra

•Prepare the weekly payment run as directed and ensure bank sign off staff are allocated well ahead of the run.

•Participate in the development and delivery of plans, goals, objectives, and priorities for the UK Finance Team and undertake other duties as assigned.

Job Title: Floating Support Team Manager

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Floating Support Team Manager to oversee a new service aimed at providing essential warp-around support to vulnerable residents in the Borough of Hounslow. This temporary role offers a unique opportunity to lead a team of 20 staff members with the assistance of two team leaders and another manager as their sister project. Delivering crucial assistance to individuals striving for independent living.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate all team activities to ensure adherence to standards and objectives.
• Provide skilled leadership and management within a complex and challenging environment.
• Contribute to and implement the team's objectives, work plans, and performance targets.
• Improve service effectiveness through high-quality outcome-focused support.
• Maximise the contribution of team members to overall organisational effectiveness.
• Ensure adherence to financial procedures and controls.
• Manage and motivate employees, trainees, students, and volunteers, including conducting supervisions and appraisals.
• Support project and support workers in key-work, case recording, face-to-face work, group work, advice giving, and advocacy.
• Provide accurate reports and timely information to support funding applications.
• Promote best practices, including person-centred support planning and effective casework management.
• Maintain positive relationships with other teams and represent the organisation at external meetings as required.
• Monitor, record, report, and meet Key Performance Indicators set internally or externally.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call system to provide emergency advice and support.

Qualifications:

• Good understanding of managing support services for vulnerable populations.
• Ability to manage a team working with challenging behaviours and diverse support needs.
• Experience in managing change processes while ensuring strategic service delivery.
• Understanding of outcome-based approaches and recovery models.
• Proven ability to sustain relationships with colleagues, funders, and service users.
• Knowledge of financial controls and sound financial management practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while remaining accountable to management.

Regional Youth Worker - London
Salary: £27,000
Location: Flexible, based at our office in Aldgate East, with travel throughout the London region and occasional remote working.

We are looking for an experienced Youth Worker, to deliver training sessions and projects to young people through youth centres, community groups, schools and alternative provisions across the London Region, and to ensure our programmes are fit for the future.
 

We are an award-winning national charity which trains over 9,500 young people affected by street violence each year in emergency first-aid through a team of 350 healthcare volunteers and youth workers. We empower young people with the skills to become part of the solution to violence by developing the skills and confidence to save lives and increasing their understanding of the medical and psychological consequences of violence.

As the StreetDoctors Youth Worker in the Region, you will deliver high quality training, develop new partnerships and maintain positive relationships.

The key areas of focus include:
