We are looking for an experienced Administration and Systems Manager to join our enthusiastic and friendly Operations team. Help Counselling is a small Mental Health charity providing one-to-one counselling, both in person and online to adults over 18.  We are also a well-established clinical training placement provider for trainee counsellors and psychotherapists studying with prestigious training organisations in London.

About Help

Help Counselling is well-established Mental Health Charity with a heritage of over 50 years. We provide training placements for clinical supervisors, counsellors and psychotherapists who need to gain clinical experience to qualify (or further qualify) and be registered with one of the industry professional bodies such as, BACP or UKCP. For ethical reasons, the work trainee counsellors / psychotherapists do is unpaid, i.e., they must volunteer their time.

This volunteer model enables Help to fulfil its charitable aim of providing low-cost counselling services. It can take between 3-5 years to qualify, and our training placements are for minimum of 12 months meaning we can also provide clients with long-term help. Having consistence and continuity plays a pivotal role in building a safe, therapeutic, and trusting alliance between the counsellor and client. 

The blend of low-cost and long-term talking therapy is much needed in a time of increasing demand for mental health support and increasing complexity of presenting issues.

About the job

The purpose of this role is to manage the daily administrative operations and a small administration team of 2 people. The objective being to ensure that we meet our monthly targets, are compliant with the requirements of BACP, run efficiently and deal with exceptions in a timely, ethical, and effective manner.

Currently our client volumes are between 250-350, we have approximately 90 counsellors and clinical team of approximately 20. 

We operate a number of cloud-based IT systems and have outsourced HR and Finance functions.

Key responsibilities

Team management
Directing the team to make sure work is scheduled, fully completed and managed efficiently.

Line managing and coaching team members to achieve their objectives and develop their skills, confidence and abilities. 
Systems management.

Managing the impacts and interactions between processes and systems which can be complex and far reaching. 

Monitoring and ensuring all systems used are accurate and up to date, performing, interpreting and following up on system audits.  
Information review, reporting and continuous improvement.

Create, review and report on operational data and use this information to solve potential problems or strengthen business performance. 

Evaluate processes and policies, look for and make improvements as necessary. Ensure that processes and policies are easy to understand and up to date. 

Stakeholder management

Provide a point of escalation and decision-making for queries arising from clients, counsellors, supervisors, training organisations and other stakeholders.

The Candidate

Education & experience: 5-6 years’ administrative, operations, customer service and supervisory experience, ideally within the charity or not-for-profit sector.  

Skills:

· Ability to analyse information and develop practical solutions.
Planning, critical thinking, problem solving, and task and time management skills.

· Interpersonal, line management, coaching, and verbal and written communication skills.

· Technical expert on MS Office suite and hands-on experience of CRM and / or clinical management system.

· Knowledge / experience of JotForm (Powerforms or equivalent), Stripe and DocuSign will be advantageous.

Background:

First Step Trust (FST) is a charity that provides work experience, training and employment opportunities for people excluded from working life because of mental health problems or other disadvantages (workforce members).

Our approach is about giving workforce members the chance to overcome some of the difficulties facing them by getting them involved as colleagues. We provide ‘on the job’ training, advice and support to enable each person to improve their basic skills and knowledge of the various work undertaken. This will include supporting workforce members to gain recognised qualifications and access to work placements with our customers and other organisations.

We are in the process of developing a more formalised training and employment support programme (SMaRT Pathways) particularly, but not exclusively, in the area of the Automotive trade.  SMaRT Pathways will include the delivery of vocational training through the use of various technologies including video, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and other mediums making the learning process more accessible to those who struggle with traditional learning methods due to issues around literacy, numeracy and low levels of self-confidence/anxiety. 

Job Role:

The main objective of this post is to enable people with mental health difficulties and other disadvantages (workforce members) to engage with and access open employment.  The EDTW will achieve this by taking responsibility for proactively recruiting people to the project, overseeing their development whilst at the project, including delivery of training courses as and when required and supporting them to move on to employment or further training.

Main duties:

Networking with other services in the area to raise awareness about FST, promoting work placements and training courses as well as promoting the business services.

Recruitment and development of potential workforce members - being proactive in following up on enquires regarding work placements, interviewing potential workforce for work placements at the project.

Employment support – assist workforce looking to move on to paid employment by providing support in job search, CVs and interview preparation. To develop a network of appropriate work placements by building contacts with local employment agencies and employers to ensure access to work for all workforce preparing to move on from FST.

Training – assisting when required, in delivering a variety of courses both in house and recognised qualifications to people with common mental health problems both workforce members and visiting trainees utilising the various technologies as they are developed.

Monitoring and reporting - complete, manage and provide regular, accurate, appropriate and timely reports to agreed deadlines in order to monitor progress.

Office duties – working with workforce members as colleagues ensuring that daily tasks are completed in a timely fashion.

To work in accordance within the limits and parameters as set out in FST’s policies and procedures, by the Board, Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executive and other senior managers.

Perform other tasks as reasonably required according to the needs of the project and FST.

Why Access Social Care Exists 

Every day millions of older and disabled people are denied the social care they need. Most local authorities can’t meet the growing demand for care, and none are confident they can meet their legal duties in the future. This affects all of us - we will all need social care at some point in our lives.

We all have a right to hold public bodies to account, but most of us cannot afford lawyers so rely on legal aid. The 92% drop in legal aid cases since 2010 means that we have nowhere to turn. Without access to justice, our rights do not exist. The rule of law is broken.   

What we do 

Access Social Care provides free legal advice and information for people with social care needs, helping achieve a better quality of life. We work with communities to increase knowledge of the law and our rights. We highlight the gap left by cuts to Legal Aid and provide advice for those who can’t afford it.

With a 98% success rate, our network of lawyers provide access to justice when things go wrong. We collaborate with social services whilst ensuring legal obligations are met. We are working towards a future where social care is adequately funded and we all get the support we need.   

We provide rights awareness training to front line managers, and legal advice and support to families and individuals. As well as providing access to justice, our aim is to drive system level change through evidence-led influencing and strategic casework. We operate our casework service mainly under a membership model where organisations involved in the social care sector contract with Access Social Care to provide legal assistance to their clients.

About the role

As we move into 2024, Access Social Care is launching a new workstream aimed at training more experts in community care law. To achieve our aims, we will be developing learning and development programmes for internal and external use. We are looking for an experienced learning and development professional to lead this programme of work.

 We want you to:

• Oversee the development and delivery online and in person training on the Care Act 2014 and associated legislation, regulations, guidance and caselaw.  We already have some training materials in-house, but you will need to expand and develop these for different audiences (carers, social care providers, advocates, advisers and caseworkers).
• Work with external stakeholders at academic institutions to develop degree/diploma level learning modules.
• Work closely with others at ASC and play a key role in developing the skills and knowledge of our trainee caseworkers and other new staff.
• Work alongside the Head of Business Development to develop a learning and development income stream.

Responsibilities

1. Project management of the Access Social Care learning and development offer: Working with internal and external stakeholders and using project management tools and software you will drive the project forwards ensuring milestones and deadlines are met, delivering reports 

2. Content and resources development: Work closely with our Head of Digital Content, Product Manager and legal team members to develop training materials for use online and in person on the Care Act which enable people with different starting points to understand the rights of social care users, to enforce those rights, and to understand the responsibilities of social care providers and local authorities.

3. External training strategy development. Work with the Head of Business development to develop an income stream from learning and development.

4. Training delivery: Deliver training internally and externally, online and in person, using a variety of training techniques, and tailored materials to engage different audiences with different immediate purposes.

5. Intelligence gathering: Contribute to our understanding of systemic problems in the social care and community care law systems, feeding back to legal colleagues' issues that are brought up in training session.

6. General tasks: Undertake such other tasks as may reasonably be required or asked of you in order to respond to organisational needs and specifically needs within the legal team.

At Cancer Research UK, our Health Community Engagement team delivers targeted cancer awareness activity in areas of greatest need across the UK. Our Talk Cancer training equips people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to discuss cancer and health with people in their local community, and to spread key cancer prevention, early diagnosis and screening messages to those who need it most.

Our Talk Cancer programme trains people through interactive workshops delivered by experienced nurse trainers (face-to-face, online, and interpreted into any language), our social media channels, and our newsletter. We also run an internal Cancer Research UK staff training scheme and learning plan on how to talk about cancer. It's an exciting time to join the team with our Talk Cancer programme being central in our work to help to reduce health inequalities. You will help us reach people who need and can benefit from our health information the most.

We now have a great opportunity for someone to join us as a Senior Communications Officer. In this role, you can expect to support the effective development and delivery of Cancer Research UK's Talk Cancer training programme. This role seeks to maximise the reach, targeting and impact of the programme, as well as ensuring optimal engagement with new and existing trainees.

What will I be doing?

Responsible for key aspects of the Talk Cancer training programme, including co-ordinating all programme marketing, managing our Talk Cancer social channels, running our internal training offering and leading our efforts on targeting our training to the highest need areas of the UK.

In particular, you will be:

• Leading on promoting the Talk Cancer programme internally and externally. This includes creating proactive marketing plans and materials, generating and responding to relevant promotional opportunities, writing public-facing communications and creating engaging content. This may involve working independently or utilising the channels and expertise of other CRUK teams (e.g. our in-house design team).

• Engaging Talk Cancer trainee's by writing and sending regular newsletters and creating content for Talk Cancer's social channels and main CRUK channels

• Having ownership of all Talk Cancer web content, with the responsibility to review and update, ensuring the best search optimisation practices are used, as well as reporting on web performance

• Managing the 'Talking About Cancer' internal learning plan through updating content, responding to comments, promoting to staff, and reporting on performance

• Building and managing effective relationships with internal stakeholders who ensure the quality and accuracy of our content including colleagues in our Health Information & Cancer Intelligence teams

• Ensuring programme training content and marketing materials are in line with the latest audience insight, brand requirements and accessibility considerations.

What skills are you looking for?

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with an aptitude for creating content, and working with digital and social media formats

• Some experience of delivering communications or marketing activity

• Excellent organisation and time management skills with proven ability to juggle multiple tasks, prioritise work and meet multiple deadlines

Chell Perkins Ltd are looking for FOUR people who are passionate about bringing positive change through fundraising. We want to nurture a new generation of fundraisers to provide charities with access to exceptional fundraising support.

We offer a four-month/16-week fully paid traineeship (approx £1,700pm gross) working with real clients in a fundraising consultancy and gaining a recognised certificate with education credits towards CFRE to give you a real headstart in working in the charity sector. • Keeping accurate records, inputting data into Ada’s systems and exporting relevant information to produce reports and dashboards.

Regional Youth Worker - London
Salary: £27,000
Location: Flexible, based at our office in Aldgate East, with travel throughout the London region and occasional remote working.

We are looking for an experienced Youth Worker, to deliver training sessions and projects to young people through youth centres, community groups, schools and alternative provisions across the London Region, and to ensure our programmes are fit for the future.
 

We are an award-winning national charity which trains over 9,500 young people affected by street violence each year in emergency first-aid through a team of 350 healthcare volunteers and youth workers. We empower young people with the skills to become part of the solution to violence by developing the skills and confidence to save lives and increasing their understanding of the medical and psychological consequences of violence.

As the StreetDoctors Youth Worker in the Region, you will deliver high quality training, develop new partnerships and maintain positive relationships.

We've recently secured 5 years of funding to provide counselling for marginalised communities. As the Counsellor (LGBTQ+ Service) you will be providing up to 16 sessions to individuals over 18 that live, work or study in the London Borough of Merton and define as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning.

You will be responsible for all aspects of the work, including administrative procedures, following our policies and protocols, liaising with mental health services and making onward referrals where necessary.

You'll be working as part of a well-established team of colleagues, within the department and organisation.
