Job description

Prospectus is excited to be supporting the team at Moorfields Eye Charity (MEC) in their search for a new Fundraising officer on a two-year fixed term contract.

Moorfields Eye Charity helps bring new treatments to patients and people with eye disease faster than ever before. By raising funds for the crucial research, education and patient care at Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and its academic partner, University College London, the charity is able to help ensure that they remain at the forefront of ophthalmic care and research.

This is an exciting time to be joining MEC's supportive and successful team and to work with and grow MEC's dedicated network of community supporters.

As the Fundraising officer, you will work closely with the Head of fundraising and engagement to develop, deliver and grow MEC's community fundraising programme. You will focus on driving a long-term proactive and sustainable programme, enhancing engagement with supporters as well as delivering MEC's bespoke events. Additionally, you will be responsible for supporting the Head of fundraising and engagement with the cross-team new celebrity ambassador programme to embed ambassador support where appropriate across the entire charity.

To be successful, you will need to have some experience of working in a charity or marketing/membership organisation, in particular you will be able to evidence your ability to effectively engage supporters and volunteers. Crucially, you will have an interest in community fundraising and supporting the health sector. You will also have excellent organisation and time management skills as well as being confident using a CRM database. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and enthusiastic fundraiser looking to take the next step in their career.

At Prospectus we invest in your journey as a candidate and are committed to supporting you with your application.

We welcome candidates from a diverse range of backgrounds. Please let us know if we can help you with the application process in any way. We are more than happy to make any reasonable adjustments to enable all interested candidates to apply.

The office is located in Central London. Although you are required to cover 37.5 hours a week, this organisation is happy to consider flexible working and partial home working. We would be happy to discuss these options with you.

In order to apply please submit your CV in the first instance and begin to prepare your supporting statement. Should your experience be suitable, we will send you the full job description and will arrange for a call and/or meeting to brief you on the role. You'll then have all the information you need to formally apply. We are looking forward to connecting with you soon.
