The role will also act as a subject matter expert in product usability, accessibility, and testing of content and materials with key stakeholders.

The Role

This role will be responsible for researching and applying to small Trusts and managing an existing portfolio (up to 10K) alongside supporting larger grant applications where required. You will create and maintain a prospect list, apply for relevant opportunities and effectively steward existing funders, preparing reports and updates ensuring they meet donor guidelines. Furthermore you will support the migration of our CRM from Raisers Edge to Microsoft Dynamics.

The person

You will have Trust fundraising experience with excellent research and writing skills with ability to identify new Trusts to apply to, prepare accurate and compelling donor reports and case studies and be confident in approaching donors and promoting the work of Whizz-Kidz.  You will have strong donor stewardship skills with ability to tailor approaches to the needs of the donor. You will also have strong time management skills with ability to manage and prioritise your workload and ideally experience of using a CRM for Trust Fundraising.

JUSTICE is looking for an outstanding criminal lawyer, for a full-time fixed term 12-month contract, with the possibility of renewal, subject to funding. This provides an exciting opportunity for a practising lawyer with a strong research background or academic lawyers keen to engage in high-level policy and law reform work.

We are looking for a lawyer mainly interested in criminal justice, as well as in cross-cutting issues affecting the functioning of the justice system (current cross-cutting projects include work on the state of the rule of law in the UK and AI, human rights, and the law).
 

JUSTICE is at the forefront of work promoting access to a fair criminal justice system for all. The successful candidate will be building on our recent work on racial injustice in the youth criminal justice system and post-conviction decision making, including the parole system and administrative decision-making in prisons, as well as our cross-cutting workstream on the state of the rule of law in the UK. They will also be scoping and setting up a new criminal justice project relating to fraud.

We would like to recruit a bright, motivated person who is passionate about criminal justice system reform, and the promotion of access to justice and fair trial. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team. With excellent interpersonal skills, they will be able to work closely with JUSTICE members, who include senior figures in the legal profession. The post holder will work with our Interim Legal Director to further develop our criminal justice work stream and assist on system-wide proposals for change. This role is focused primarily on England and Wales, though it will touch on UK wide issues and the Scottish criminal justice system from time-to-time.

The JUSTICE team are currently working in a hybrid manner. Staff members have access to office space in London, however, attendance is currently optional. A major new initiative, The CRUK Cancer Data Trusted Research Programme (TRP), is an advisory service that offers a secure environment which supports researchers who are working with sensitive cancer-related data. It will also enable the further use of CRUK-funded research data.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Research Data Officer. In this role, you'll play a key role in the running of the TR Programme and work with external researchers to help the format and wrangle their data to conduct their research. Further to this, you'll work with CRUK's internal teams and the wider research community to catalogue the data holdings held by CRUK and support the interoperability of data holdings within CRUK and with other health data repositories across the UK and internationally.

What will I be doing?

• Catalogue and publish comprehensive data dictionaries of CRUK data holdings (including on the HDR UK Gateway)

• Working with CRUK's TRP and Data Liaison Teams to onboard data sets and users into our data architecture

• Working closely with the wider Data and Informatics Team and external infrastructure providers to onboard research projects and ensure technical setup is in line with researcher requirements, including validating testing of the environment before it goes live with external researchers

• Working closely with the onboarded researchers to ensure their data management plans, configuration, formatting and processing of the data can be achieved

• Developing and establishing linkage and interoperability with datasets and repositories external to CRUK

• Transferring data from completed projects to centralised repositories of data in line with appropriate permissions and approvals

• Developing and delivering training materials to external researchers about the environment and ensure confidence in ability before go-live

• Working closely with relevant teams across CRUK to develop the TRP

• Developing and maintaining relationships with relevant external organisations

What skills are you looking for?

• Strong understanding of health data management principles, practices and standards, particularly related to cancer and its management

Using your digital expertise and strategic thinking, you will work with colleagues across YoungMinds to create content for the website that helps support their team’s aims and objectives. This will include our content for young people and professionals as part of our Someone To Turn To programme, as well as content for our Powerful Young Voices programme. Purpose of the role

One of the core elements of this work is the production of the Freedom of Thought Report. The Report examines every country in the world for its record on upholding the rights and equality for non-religious people. We consider issues of legal discrimination and outright persecution and violence. The Report is essential to our awareness-raising efforts of the persecution faced by the non-religious.

Humanists International is embarking on a 2-year programme of work in order to realize some long-term improvements to the Freedom of Thought Report. We are looking for an enthusiastic research coordinator to join our team and participate in all stages of the publication process.

As a research coordinator you will support the Casework & Campaigns Manager to administer, plan and produce the Freedom of Thought Report, providing evidenced-based research to shape and influence human rights policy as it pertains to the non-religious.

This is a predominantly home-based role, but does require the attendance of in-person events such as the General Assembly and Team Building, as required.

The charity currently carries the Patient Information Forum’s (PIF) Tick, which commits us to producing all our health information to its standards of quality. We rely on insight from men with lived experience of prostate cancer and healthcare professional expertise to produce high quality information. We also work closely with our clinical nurse specialists and clinical data teams to ensure our information is based on the latest evidence and clinical practices.

As a Health Information officer, you’ll develop new and review existing health information that empowers men to make informed choices about the healthcare they receive. You’ll be part of a team that supports men on every step of the prostate cancer journey; from raising the awareness of men at high risk, to guiding them through the diagnostic pathway and helping them decide on treatment options that are right for them.

You’ll be critical to maintaining the smooth running of production processes across print and digital formats to a dedicated three-year cycle. You’ll also contribute to the ongoing evaluation of our health information resources and service, making sure they’re efficiently and effectively meeting the needs of those affected by prostate cancer.

You’ll know how to critically appraise and communicate complex information to lay audiences in writing and be very familiar with writing digital health information. You’ll understand ways of engaging with service users and healthcare professionals to shape our health information and strive to ensure that you’re inclusive of the diverse prostate cancer population we serve.

You’ll be able to demonstrate empathy, working with those who are affected by prostate cancer and understanding and addressing the difficulties they present or experience.

Person Specification

The Difference is looking for someone who can lead the team’s impact function as the charity goes through a really exciting period of growth and development.  You will refine our monitoring and evaluation work in order to drive continuous improvement across the charity, and to shape future programme design. You’ll feed into the development of new tools for use by schools to better understand and respond to their own inclusion data. You’ll also play a key role in helping The Difference and its partner schools to understand the mechanisms for change in our programmes, and identify what supports and hinders change. Our programmes work with schools as they become more inclusive, support all of their students to succeed, and reduce the amount of learning lost to exclusions and absence. 

You will have real ownership over your area of work, be happiest in a flexible and ambitious environment, and enjoy testing out new ideas. You will have experience in working on programme evaluation, impact measurement or applied research, and will combine strong data and project-management skills.

• Experience of designing and carrying out both formative and summative evaluation understanding how to appropriately design, collect and analyse quantitative and qualitative data.

Why Work for The Difference?

Schooling isn’t working for the children who need it most. Every week in England 109 children – equivalent to three full classrooms – are permanently excluded. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Since the pandemic, school suspensions have risen significantly, as has persistent absenteeism. 1 in 5 children are missing more than 10% of their time in school. Children who are excluded or persistently absent are much more likely to already be experiencing vulnerability or disadvantage. They are more likely to live in poverty, have additional learning needs, suffer mental health challenges, or experience a lack of safety outside school. Certain ethnicities are also disproportionately affected, notably Gypsy Roma Traveller and black Caribbean children. 

Exclusion and high rates of absence can have a dramatic effect on life chances. These young people are more likely to drop out of education or employment, become vulnerable to long-term mental ill health, or be at risk of criminal exploitation. The Difference believes that children and young people deserve better and that the education system has to change.

Our Organisation 

The Difference is a young education charity, founded to change the story on lost learning.  By 2030, we want rates of exclusion and absence to be falling nationally and for schools to be better equipped to support all children, including those who may be vulnerable.
The Difference was born out of a year of research into school exclusions with think-tank IPPR. This research identified a lack of inclusion expertise in schools and proposed a new leadership development programme to fill this gap. In 2018, Difference founder Kiran hired the team who took this idea from concept to reality, beginning work with our first schools.

The Difference is now a 22-strong team delivering multiple school leadership programmes, alongside a growing research and policy arm. The team is supported by our Youth Advisory Board, made up of young people who have experienced exclusion and who provide their expertise and insights on how school inclusion work should be done. This work is needed more than ever. Effects of COVID-19, coupled with the spiralling cost of living, have substantially increased levels of vulnerability. Schools serving excluded pupils face under-funding. The Difference has had excellent early impact but there is work ahead to capture this, share learning with schools and policy-makers, and grow our capacity to lower exclusions across England.

The Task Ahead: Head of Impact

In 2022, The Difference established a Research, Impact and Influencing Directorate, indicating the growing importance of this work to our mission. We’re doing more to understand (and evidence) how school leaders who take part in our programmes are driving impactful inclusion in their schools. And we intend to use this to have a national impact on how schools are measured and driven to put pupil wellbeing, safety and belonging at the heart of their work. Improving our understanding of the impact of inclusion is key to successfully changing the story for students currently struggling in schools. 

Key Tasks for this role include:

• Strengthen our monitoring, evaluation and impact systems: using methods that are both qualitative (interviews, case-studies, roundtables) and quantitative (staff and student surveys, school data tracking), and collating and analysing the data collected to diagnose successes, challenges and opportunities within our work streams. 

• Act as an internal consultant with the team: bringing stakeholder feedback together in clear presentations for other staff members and acting as a “critical friend” during delivery and strategy planning. Identify insights that point to continuous improvement of our programmes and work with Programme Team to utilise insights. 

• Develop our qualitative framework to better track and measure whole-school inclusion. This framework will aim not just to support improved work for children in our schools, but to define what good looks like in the sector.

• Progress our ambition to make inclusion more tangibly measurable: plan user-research with school partners to identify inclusion data needs and use these findings to develop impact tools that collate exclusion, attendance and demographic data. Work with others in the sector using innovative methods to measure inclusion through national datasets.

• Expand our work on measuring school inclusion through student experience of safety, wellbeing and belonging. Grow the reach of our current survey tools and collaborating with others in the sector doing innovative work on student voice and inclusion.

We are seeking an experienced IT professional to join the charity.  This is a newly created position reporting to the Head of IT.  The aim of this role is to encompass the charity’s Helpdesk (1^st through 3^rd line support) and IT Technician responsibilities to include new builds and repairs, network and server maintenance, telecoms improvements as well as project support. This role is based at our head office in Snetterton, Norfolk and will support all our sites across the UK as well as end users abroad. Occasional travel to our four UK sites will be required.

We are looking for someone with experience in Windows Operating Systems (Pro/Enterprise & Server), Mobile Operating Systems (Android & iOS), M365 administration (including Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, Exchange Online), Windows Server roles - DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Print and Networking (including routers, switches, cabling, APs).

Full Fact fights bad information. We’re recruiting for a new Product Manager (Supporter Experience) to help tackle the spread of misleading, dangerous claims—and hold those responsible to account.

As Product Manager (Supporter Experience), you will make sure those who make false claims in public can’t get away with it. Every day our team of fact checkers and campaigners find, check and challenge false claims. We identify the reasons for bad information, so we can campaign to change the systems that enable it. Your job will be to raise awareness of, and build support for, our cause through managing our supporter experience on our digital platforms.

This is your chance to work on campaigns that demand national media attention and ultimately change public debate for the better—with a supportive team behind you.

Job Definition

The Product Manager (Supporter Experience) is responsible for planning the digital strategy and executing the plan to deliver online content and campaigns that increase awareness of our work and drive the public to take action and donate to our cause. 

You will manage multiple digital products and platforms, implementing data-driven improvements to ensure optimum usability and accessibility. Responsible for understanding and developing the user journey across digital touchpoints - as diverse as online advertising, campaigns and virtual events - you will advise on how best to improve the user experience and manage our content. 

You will manage a multi disciplinary team of people who deliver our CRM, website, email campaigns, audience research and community initiatives. 

Outcomes

In the first 6 months you’ll have the opportunity to coordinate the delivery of at least 3 campaigns that are designed to end deceptive campaign practices by political parties, improve regulation of political advertising and encourage MPs and Ministers to correct the record when they make a wrong or misleading claim. You’ll have access to new audience research data, and will use that to inform the work we do.

You’ll bring together a team of multi disciplinary experts to deliver on our campaigning aims. You’ll work with them to develop our website, CRM and mailing list to have the greatest impact, ensuring we have the right data to make good decisions.

You’ll build relationships with teams across Full Fact helping others to meet their aims, particularly supporting fundraising to deliver income-generating online communications.

• Identify digital suppliers (e.g. PPC and Paid Social campaigns) which can help us build campaigns targeting different audience segments. Own the relationship and workflow to ensure they have all the materials they need to succeed and hold them to account based on agreed targets.

• Assist the team with website updates using our CMS (Django) as well as contributing to larger website projects.

• Work with direct reports to set up landing pages and data capture forms, build our mailing list, manage multiple email campaigns and perform thorough QA and testing on website, email and CRM builds.

• Oversee building and testing of user journeys to ensure workflows are correctly set up across platforms, and identify any areas for improvements.

• Advise and make recommendations on product roadmaps based on learnings from data analysis, audience research, knowledge of trends and best practice and experience of campaign delivery.

Data management and analysis

• Assist the team in designing user research and analysing audience data to ensure our decisions are informed by an understanding of our existing and potential supporters.

• Understand the organisational needs for data to inform how we acquire and retain supporters. 

• Lead projects to integrate our Salesforce CRM with any new additions to the website (e.g. lead generation forms). 

• Work with the CRM Administrator to ensure the data is available, clean and accurate, and to prioritise and action internal CRM requests for training, issues and new functionality.

• Deliver monthly, quarterly and campaign-specific performance reports across all channels, highlighting achievements, insights and lessons learnt, informing a plan to further drive performance and ROI improvement.
