Ways of working

Salary and Holiday
This is a permanent position. The salary is £26,000. Future First staff receive pro rata 28 days of leave (in addition to 8 UK public holidays) increasing one day per year of service up to 33.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Migrateful Cookery School and our pop-up venues are pivotal to our operations, providing essential spaces for our Cookery Class Teachers to deliver their classes and for our guests to enjoy the experience. We are seeking a proactive, individual with previous experience in a similar role to take ownership of the upkeep and day to day running of the Migrateful Cookery School, and to ensure our pop-up venues are fully kitted out to support the smooth running of or our classes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
General
- Refine the system for keeping track of levels of stock (beverages, cleaning supplies, dry goods etc.) and replenishing them when necessary.
- Implement a cookery school procurement / supplier policy in line with our operational and financial needs.
- Maintain awareness of all activities taking place at the Cookery School across a week (including weekends) and ensuring all equipment and ingredients required for these classes/activites are made available.
- Place timely food orders and coordinate accurate and punctual food deliveries.
- Store ordered food items in accordance with Food Safety guidelines.
- Organise and maintain storage cupboards for kitchen supplies, equipment, allergens, dry goods, beverages etc,.
- Ensure all relevant signage is up to date, uniform, and properly visible.
- Review and update documentation related to the Cookery School.
- Maintain checklists and perform daily, weekly, and monthly monitoring and inspections in compliance with Health & Safety guidelines.
- Establish a system for periodic inspection and upkeep of cookery kits, considering the ongoing class and demo schedule..
- Monitor feedback and implement the necessary operational improvements at the school.
- Act as the point of contact for matters related to the Cookery School. (Occasionally these queries may be out of hours but can be handled telephonically.)
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Appropriately manage a small budget and properly track all receipts and purchases.

Purpose of This Role:
This is a pivotal role to support NASP’s strategic aims to promote and spread social prescribing at a local, national, and international level.
The purpose of this role is to provide operational support and act as point of contact for the organisation’s Finance and People functions, as well as providing Programme support across the organisation, ensuring smooth running and continual improvement of NASP’s processes.
The role sits in the Operations team and will work closely with the Director of Operations, wider Operations colleagues, and external Finance, Legal and IT providers, as well as providing support across the organisation. This will include supporting on NASP’s Innovation programme.
Person Specification:
Knowledge of finance processes, including bookkeeping, year end, invoice & purchase order administration; and preferably experience of accountancy processes for charities

Responsibilities:
Finance
- Act as first point of contact for Finance enquiries, both internally and externally
- Manage the Finance mailbox, ensuring queries are dealt with efficiently
- Co-ordinate day-to-day financial operations, including processing of invoices, purchase orders, expense claims, reconciliations, etc.
- Overseeing virtual card system (Soldo) for NASP employees
- Supporting CEO, Director of Operations (DoO) and Director of Finance (DoF) on budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and year end process as required
- Working with external Finance provider (Carpenter Box) to support processes
- Attending regular finance catchups, supporting these meetings and providing feedback on issues & processes

- Ensuring online and paper filing of NASP finance documentation is accurate, organised, and kept up to date
People, HR & Recruitment
- Act as first point of contact for staff HR enquiries, e.g. policy, annual leave, absences
- Work with DoO and CEO on HR matters where needed (supporting meetings, liaising with staff)
- Support line managers on annual appraisal and probationary review process
- Support on recruitment, including developing job documentation, posting job adverts, liaising with candidates and managing enquiries, scheduling and supporting interviews
- Work closely with the Executive Assistant for onboarding and induction of new starters, including arranging for IT equipment to be shipped
- Proactively identify ways to improve and streamline People & Culture processes
- Drafting and issuing contracts for freelancers, using NASP standard templates

Programme Support

Other Responsibilities

Companion is the name given to those who live in an Emmaus community and contributes to the social enterprise, where they support themselves and one another. We are seeking an outgoing proactive Sales & Events Coordinator to join our busy team to deliver increased revenue and occupancy for our conference and meetings business.
As a social enterprise commercial income is key to our success. The Commercial team is responsible for income generation and business growth through sourcing occupants for our commercial units and clients for our venues. The Commercial team deliver over 600 events from our venues and are continually building partnerships and liaising with key stakeholders across the South Bank areas.

About the opportunity
Corporate partnerships are critical to delivering our mission and ensuring we can support as many children and young people facing disadvantage to open doors to their future. The Philanthropy Team as a whole has a combined target income for the current year (2023-24) of £1.83 million (growing to £2.35m as our target for next year) of which approximately £850k is from corporate donors and their foundations. We have been successful year on year in increasing our fundraising base by building secure multi-year partnerships. Part of our growth strategy is looking at building stronger relationships with corporate partners, having established a strong multi-year relationship for the first time this year worth £500k annually. We’re looking for a Corporate Partnerships Manager to lead on our corporate partnership activities and initiatives, including growing income from corporate partners as well as increasing the number of corporate volunteer tutor applications we receive from them. Fundraising is critical to delivering our mission and ensuring we can support as many children and young people facing disadvantage to open doors to their future. This Casework Coordinator role is based within the Services Directorate.
