Contract, Full-time
Job description

We are seeking a dynamic new Chief Executive to provide strong leadership and

direction during a period of rapid expansion for this growing charity.  If you

have a passion for working with communities, love heritage and enjoy managing

change, this could be the job for you!

Heritage Trust Network (HTN) is a grass roots membership organisation

operating across the United Kingdom, that provides a unique resource within

the national heritage sector, supporting community based organisations to

revive their heritage assets for social and economic benefit.  We equip

local communities with the skills they need to deliver these complex

projects through our online resources and fortnightly newsletters, as well

as providing peer to peer support through regular branch meetings and our

annual conference.

Thanks to funding from Historic England, National Lottery Heritage Fund and

others, the organisation has an exciting opportunity to upscale its operations

over the next three years, to increase resilience and deliver a comprehensive

programme of community-based training and skills development to its expanding

membership.

As our new CEO you will be working with an active and engaged board of trustees

and a great team of dedicated staff, volunteers and consultants.  You will also be

representing the organisation at a national level to improve HTN’s profile and impact.

Our ideal candidate will have several years’ experience of managing a heritage,

cultural or community organisation, involving strategic planning, staff management

and finances.  A broad based interest in historic building/built environment matters

and knowledge of the range of not for profit organisations working to benefit local

communities will be essential. We will also be looking for someone with excellent

people and communication skills, an aptitude for fundraising and business planning,

as well as sound marketing and IT skills.

The post is based in Birmingham, with travel throughout the UK. Initially funded for a

year there is potential to extend the post, subject to funding.
