We are looking for passionate and motivated volunteers to help achieve the aims and deliver the objectives of 17-24-30, raising awareness about hate crime, to facilitate the annual April Acts of Remembrance and October National Hate Crime Awareness Week, including the national research task of compiling a Freedom of Information National Hate Crime Study.
We are looking for people who are available on Tuesday afternoons to work from the charity’s base of operations in New Cross in Lewisham, with further dates and volunteer sessions added by mutual agreement. The work will include contacting local councils to obtain information about their hate crime work, and to transfer this information into simple charts, so some degree of computer literacy and telephone/people skills is desirable. As the charity grows, there will be additional scope for collaboration with other organisations that provide hate crime services, or that work directly with communities affected by hate crime. We have recently launched our new Rainbow Boroughs Projectto work with the LGBT community. The volunteers are supervised by the charity’s Admin and Engagement Worker.
