Youth On The Rise

We train peers to deliver digital, life-skills, menstrual support and career programmes that mobilize communities.​

Programme Design and Development Lead

• Design and develop new Youth On The Rise initiatives and programmes
• Conduct research on youth needs, emerging trends, and best practices
• Create programme concepts, implementation plans, and participant journeys

As a Climate Ambassador, you would be joining thousands of volunteers supporting the Department for Education’s Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy, launched in 2022.

Climate Ambassadors offer free support to nurseries, schools and colleges across England to develop and implement a climate action plan. This framework helps education settings evaluate and address key action areas – adaptation and mitigation, biodiversity, climate education and green careers, and decarbonisation.

If you have: 

• A desire to create coordinated impact in your local community, while utilising your employer’s volunteering leave (where applicable);

We’re seeking a Trustee with strategic finance (CFO-level) expertise to strengthen our board as we grow and to help us scale our mission to bring economic opportunites to those impacted by homelessness. 

You’ll bring commercial acumen to our mission—helping us plan sustainably, understand our unit economics, and scale responsibly—without being “the accountant.” Our operations are hospitality-led, so experience in catering, hospitality, or multi-site venues is helpful (not essential).

About 130 Primrose

130 Primrose is a charity restaurant in Primrose Hill, formerly Home Kitchen Diner. We recruit, train, and employ people with lived experience of homelessness, offering real jobs, and accredited qualifications in hospitality. We’re scaling impact through great food, fair work, and fresh starts. 

What you’ll do

· Support the Board and Chair with financial strategy, planning, and risk management.

· Challenge and refine our financial model, forecasting, and cashflow planning (12–36 months).

· Help shape P&L, balance sheet and cash visibility that operators can use day-to-day.

· Advise on site-level unit economics, menu margin mix, labour model, and cost control.

· Strengthen budgeting, KPI dashboards, and scenario modelling for growth (e.g., second site in Brighton).

Urban Youth is dedicated to empowering young people with the confidence, skills, and opportunities they need to thrive. To keep our programmes running smoothly and ensure every volunteer feels supported from day one, we’re looking for a Volunteer Coordinator/Manager to join our team.

What We Need

We’re seeking someone who can give just a few hours a week to help us:

• Recruit new volunteers who share our passion for youth empowerment

• Onboard and welcome volunteers, ensuring they feel confident and prepared

• Support volunteer engagement, helping everyone stay connected and informed

• Maintain simple volunteer records to keep things running smoothly

We’re REMIX, a Shoreditch‑based social mobility charity empowering young people to remix their lives with confidence, creativity, and real opportunities. We’re gearing up for our big launch this September — and to make it happen, we need an HR & Volunteering Manager who’s passionate about people, culture, and community.

We’re looking for a volunteer HR & Volunteering Manager who can help us put the right people, processes, and vibes in place ahead of our launch. You’ll be the heartbeat of our growing team — supporting recruitment, onboarding, volunteer experience, and the foundations of a positive, youth‑centred culture.

You’ll help us build and support our people systems, including:

Action Tutoring is a national education charity that offers free maths and English tutoring to pupils facing disadvantage. 

By volunteering as a tutor at a local school or online, you'll be supporting children to build their confidence and help ensure they leave school with the grades needed to build a bright future.

What will I be doing?

• Tutoring 1-3 pupils in Year 5 or 6, or Year 7, 10 or 11.

• Commit to one hour a week, for up to 20 weeks. You choose the day and time to sign up to.

• Use our tutor workbooks to guide your pupils through activities that will boost their confidence and grades.

What you'll gain:

• Receive induction training, tutor workbooks and ongoing support.

• Develop skills like communication, leadership, and problem-solving.

• Meet like-minded people in our volunteer community.

• Travel expense reimbursement (up to £5 per session).

• Free DBS check.

This volunteer role is perfect for you if you:

• Are passionate about making a difference and helping young people succeed, particularly those facing disadvantage.

• Seek valuable experience working with children and are eager to hone essential skills such as communication, mentorship, and leadership – all highly valued in any career path.

• Have a busy schedule but are keen to contribute to your community, as this flexible role requires just one hour a week, either in-person or conveniently online.

We look for volunteers with:

• Solid subject knowledge in the area they wish to tutor, which may be demonstrated by a degree or grade B at A-level qualification (or equivalent) or relevant experience.

• The ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently.

• A commitment to supporting pupils’ academic progress.
