Do you have the experience and the drive to create change that aims to improve understanding, diagnosis and support for Endometriosis? 

This is an exciting time to join the Endometriosis UK trustee board, as the organisation expands and develops to achieve the changes that are needed to support those affected by the disease and to drive down diagnosis time. With trustees coming to the end of their time on the Board, we are looking for a Treasurer and two further Trustees to build on this momentum to strengthen our organisation and bring about change for those with endometriosis. We have a skills-based board, with Trustees having one or more identified skills, with the overall membership of the Board providing the complete set of skills.

Endometriosis impacts on the physical and mental health of 10% of women and those assigned female at birth in the UK, from puberty to menopause - although the impact can be felt for life. Yet it’s a disease most people have never heard of, do not understand and the cause is not known. It costs the UK economy around £11 billion every year in healthcare costs, loss of work and treatments and yet it isn’t recognised by most employers. As the UK’s leading charity for all those affected by endometriosis, we’re determined to change this and ensure that everyone gets prompt diagnosis and the best treatment and support.

We’ve big ambitions in our strategy, focused on supporting those with endometriosis, driving down diagnosis times, campaigning for improved treatments and access to services, raising awareness, and leveraging more money into research. We place people with endometriosis at the heart of all we do, and with an average time to get a diagnosis of over 9 years, the cause of the disease unknown and no cure, there is so much more they need and want. If we get our work right, we really can make a difference to the 1.5 million women and those assigned female at birth with endometriosis in the UK – and all those diagnosed in the future.

The pandemic had a major knock-on effect to the treatment and management of endometriosis. Cancelled surgeries and appointments left those with endometriosis unable to access treatments and support or get a diagnosis. We have a big job to do, increasing the support we provide, reaching everyone affected by endometriosis and ensuring they get the support they need. Despite being small we’ve achieved a lot. But there is so much more we want to do.

1. Treasurer

We are currently recruiting for a Treasurer to join our friendly, dynamic, experienced and effective Board of Trustees. Trustees are recruited based on their skills and experience, and for this role we are particularly seeking someone who can bring strong financial expertise and strategic insight to the Board.

In addition to the Treasurer role listed above, we are also looking for two additional new Trustees to join our board. 

2. Young Trustee

• Recent personal experience of the impact of living with endometriosis whilst at school
• Ability to bring insight and perspective about the experiences of a wide range of younger people living with endometriosis, including diagnosis
  May 2026
• Willingness to take on an advocacy role and to share your story in the media and in other ways to support Endometriosis UK’s campaigning and communications work
• Please note that legally trustees must be over the age of 18 in England and that we will provide support to young trustees who are new to trusteeship.

3. Endometriosis UK Trustee

• Personal or professional experience of diversity and inclusion issues
• Currently living in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales

Interviews will be held in June/July, with initial interviews being held virtually on request, carried out by a small panel of trustees.

The role will start at a Board meeting on 28th November 2026, when our current trustees reach the end of their 6-year term of office. Prior to the roles starting, incoming Trustees will have the opportunity to observe a Board meeting in September, and induction will be planned in October.

Role Summary

As the Fundraising Coordinator, you will be responsible for helping create and implementing strategies to fundraise from both existing and new sources (individuals, mosques, grants etc.) with the aim of securing the long-term financial stability of Roots Academy.

Key tasks

Fundraising Planning:

• Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising plans to achieve income goals.
• Identify potential new funding sources and opportunities for income generation.

Campaign Management:

• Plan and oversee fundraising campaigns and events, including direct appeals, online campaigns, and fundraising events at mosques.
• Coordinate with marketing and communications teams to develop compelling fundraising material.

Proposal Development:

• Research trusts, foundations and corporations for grant opportunities.
• Work with the team to develop proposals, supporting with grant writing when needed.

Budget Oversight:

• Work closely with the finance team to monitor fundraising budgets, expenditure, and financial projections.

Donor Relations:

• Support with Donor Communications in activities related to donor relationship management and stewardship.

• Experience in organising fundraising campaigns and events, including digital fundraising strategies
• Strong understanding of fundraising principles and techniques, including donor cultivation

JOB PURPOSE: We are seeking a passionate, creative, and community-driven Book Club Manager / Community Lead (Volunteer) to help build and grow a thought-provoking book club focused on awakening, education, critical thinking, and personal growth. This role involves developing the vision and structure of the book club, curating impactful reading materials, and creating a welcoming space where members can engage in meaningful discussions and self-reflection. The successful candidate will lead both online and offline sessions, organize engaging events, and foster a strong sense of community among members aged 16–35. About the role: The purpose of the Book Club Manager / Community Lead (Volunteer) role is to establish, manage, and grow an engaging and intellectually stimulating book club community that promotes education, awareness, personal development, and critical thinking. The role holder will be responsible for creating and implementing the club’s structure, coordinating discussions and events, curating impactful reading materials, and developing systems that enhance member participation and overall community experience. Experience Qualification and Requirements

Experience running or managing book clubs, discussion groups, or community programs is a plus, but passionate and motivated individuals are encouraged to apply.

Knowledge of tools and platforms for virtual book clubs (Zoom, Discord, social media, event management platforms, etc.).

Main Responsibilities/ Key Duties

Develop and establish the structure of the book club, including mission, themes, and long-term goals.

As a Grants and Funding Volunteer, you will play a vital role in supporting our work. You will:

• Identify and apply for funding opportunities through compelling proposals
• Craft engaging campaigns to attract donors and increase awareness
• Develop clear and impactful communication strategies to share our mission and successes with stakeholders, partners, and the public

You'll collaborate closely with the admin team, a small group of volunteers who work behind the scenes to enable our success with our project goals. You'll also liaise with our Project Director to align your work with the trust's aims and objectives.

This role is adaptable to your skills and interests. Whether your expertise lies in campaign writing, digital communications, or event-based fundraising, we’ll work with you to tailor the responsibilities and focus areas to make the most of your time and talents.

Skills and Experience (any of these):

• Grant Writing: Proven ability to identify funding opportunities and write compelling grant applications that secure essential resources.
• Fundraising Expertise: Experience in planning, managing, or supporting successful fundraising campaigns. This could include individual giving, events, or digital campaigns.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to create impactful messaging across multiple platforms, such as social media, press releases, or donor communications.
• Digital Marketing and Social Media: Familiarity with digital marketing strategies, including using social media for engagement and online fundraising.
• Relationship Building: Experience in building and maintaining relationships with donors, corporate sponsors, or community groups.
• Project Management: The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results.

As our Loneliness Awareness & Advocacy Lead, you will be the storyteller, the amplifier, and the voice that helps SUNSHINE reach the people who need us — and the people who can support us.

You’ll help shape how we talk about loneliness. You’ll help bring SUNSHINE’s mission to life through stories, campaigns, and public engagement. And you’ll help build a movement that inspires understanding, compassion, and action.

Your work will help ensure that loneliness is not hidden, ignored, or misunderstood — but recognised as a human challenge we can solve together.

What You’ll Be Doing

Depending on your strengths and interests, you may:

• Lead awareness‑raising efforts across London and online

• Develop messaging, stories, and campaigns that highlight the impact of loneliness

• Share SUNSHINE’s mission through social media, newsletters, blogs, and community channels

• Help shape our public voice, tone, and storytelling approach

• Build relationships with local media, community groups, and partners

• Support the creation of case studies, interviews, and lived‑experience stories (with care and consent)

• Represent SUNSHINE at events, talks, and community gatherings

• Help design awareness campaigns for key moments (Loneliness Awareness Week, Mental Health Awareness Week, etc.)

• Work closely with the CEO, trustees, and volunteers to ensure our message is consistent, compassionate, and compelling

Experience in communications, PR, journalism, campaigning, marketing, or advocacy is helpful — but not essential if you bring enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

South East London (SEL) Mind is a highly regarded, innovative local charity working alongside people with mental health problems and dementia in their local communities to improve their quality of life. With an annual turnover of £8m, 250 staff and over 200 volunteers, we are one of the largest charities in the Mind network. SEL Mind was formed through the merger of Bromley, Lewisham & Greenwich Mind and Lambeth & Southwark Mind in January 2024.

• Community Connectors - Collaborating with the Community Engagement Manager to establish a local network, promote SSAFA's services, and respond to community opportunities such as gardening projects.
• Fundraising Heroes - Whether it’s rallying local businesses, organising events, or getting creative with unique fundraising ideas, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping SSAFA’s support going strong.
• Administrators - Are you detail-oriented and love keeping things organised? Assist with branch and event administration, manage schedules and branch calendars, and ensure everything runs smoothly currently being undertaken.

• Confident to engage with the public, potential clients, volunteers and SSAFA colleagues face-to-face.
• Reliable attitude, staying connected with your Branch and/or Community Engagement Manager about your availability.
• Access to public transport or a car to get to events if necessary.
