Time commitment

By supporting local and national fundraising activity, you will help ensure that NCI stations can continue to operate effectively. Your contribution will directly support the volunteers on watch who provide a crucial extra set of eyes along the coast, helping to prevent incidents and assist emergency services when needed.

What you will be doing:

As a volunteer station supporter fundraiser, you will be involved in your stations fundraising activities, including:

• Attending local fundraising events and community activities organised by your station
• Manning stalls at events, shows, and public spaces
• Collecting, checking, and emptying donation boxes in agreed locations
• Assisting with simple fundraising initiatives organised by your local station
• Helping to promote NCI within the local community and encouraging public support

This role is ideal for someone looking to gain experience, confidence, and skills while supporting a coastal water safety charity. Would be beneficial to be located near to an NCI station, or reasonable travelling disctance from a station. Would need to hold a driving licence for travelling to and from events.

• Help take Guide Dogs into your community: Are you well connected or do you love going to new places and meeting new people? We need more volunteer fundraisers to help at our events and spread the word about our work.

As a community champion volunteer you’ll be supporting Sense’s fundraising team, playing a vital role in helping Sense to raise funds and awareness to support people with complex disabilities. 

You’ll engage with individuals, local businesses, and regional press to share our mission, organise events, and inspire others to take action. Whether you’re great at planning events, researching opportunities or connecting with your community, this role has something for you.  

This is a flexible role, with the opportunity to volunteer either virtually or in your local community. We are looking for volunteers able to offer a minimum commitment of 2 hours per month.

Event volunteer:

Support Sense’s Community Fundraising team by:

• Organising your own fundraising events in aid of Sense.
• Supporting and participating in fundraising events at your local Sense services, and shops.
• Supporting with fundraising admin, for example sourcing prizes for Sense fundraisers.

Skills needed:

• Creative, with fresh fundraising ideas and enthusiasm.
• Organised, with the ability help co-ordinate multiple aspects of an event.

Local public relations (PR) volunteer:

Boost Sense’s profile in your local community by:

• Writing content for local press releases.
• Building a network of local media contacts.
• Supporting regional output of national campaigns. 

Skills needed:

• Strong written communication
• Able to follow branding and messaging guidelines.
• Self-motivated and proactive in seeking opportunities. 

Fundraising researcher:

Help boost Sense’s regional income by researching available grants, partnerships and other local connections. Responsibilities include:

• Researching local grants and business partnerships.
• Researching networking events.
• Helping us to source prizes for Sense fundraising events.

Skills needed:

• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
• Organised, ensuring new leads are accurately recorded and shared. 

Community connector:

Act as an ambassador for Sense, attending events across your community to thank supporters, and forge new partnerships.

• Attending cheque presentations, thanking our supporters.
• Giving presentations about Sense to local schools and community groups.
• Engaging with local businesses and groups, to forge new relationships for Sense.

Skills needed:

• Strong communication skills and enjoys public speaking opportunities.
• Well-connected in their local area, and love engaging with people.

C.A.S.P urgently requires additional support to help secure funding that will enable the charity to continue operating and delivering essential services to children and families in need.

We are looking for enthusiastic Volunteer Fundraisers / Bid Writers to support the CEO in identifying funding opportunities and preparing high-quality grant applications to Trusts, Foundations, and other funding bodies. Volunteers will also work collaboratively with our senior management team to help develop and implement a robust fundraising strategy and support community fundraising initiatives.

Purpose of the Role

C.A.S.P urgently requires additional support to help secure funding that will enable the charity to continue operating and delivering essential services to children and families in need.

We are looking for enthusiastic Volunteer Fundraisers / Bid Writers to support the CEO in identifying funding opportunities and preparing high-quality grant applications to Trusts, Foundations, and other funding bodies. Volunteers will also work collaboratively with our senior management team to help develop and implement a robust fundraising strategy and support community fundraising initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and identify suitable funding opportunities, grants, trusts, foundations, and institutional funders.
• Prepare and submit compelling funding applications, bids, and proposals.
• Support the development of a diverse and sustainable fundraising portfolio.
• Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers within the Fundraising Working Group.
• Assist with planning and delivering fundraising activities and events to generate additional income for the charity.
• Maintain and update fundraising databases and records accurately.
• Help improve organisational cash flow through successful income generation initiatives.
• Contribute ideas and strategies to strengthen long-term fundraising sustainability.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for individuals who are:

• Passionate about supporting children, families, and the local community.
• Interested in developing knowledge across a range of fundraising areas.
• Strong analytical thinkers with good research skills.
• Confident communicators with excellent written and verbal English skills.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office or similar software to prepare reports, proposals, and applications.
• Able to build and manage positive stakeholder relationships.
• Knowledgeable about the charity sector and the challenges facing small charities.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently using their own initiative.
