The Lysene Foundation is a start‑up charitable organisation inspired by the micronation known as the Principality of Lys — a creative community rooted in the classical arts, architecture, and beauty of the French Renaissance, Baroque, Beaux‑Arts, and the age of Humanism and Enlightenment.

We believe in a new Renaissance for Europe and the wider world. Our mission is to bring the cultural and community spirit of Lys to life through accessible public programmes, including community events, educational initiatives, exhibitions, publications, artistic opportunities, and more.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a visionary and strategic Head of Marketing and Communications to build and lead our global communications function. This is a senior volunteer role ideal for someone who enjoys shaping brand identity, crafting compelling narratives, and establishing a strong public presence for a cultural organisation at an early stage.

You will design and launch our marketing and communications strategy, develop our brand voice, and oversee all public‑facing messaging across digital, print, and community channels. As we grow, you will build and lead a dedicated communications team.

This is a rare opportunity to define the public identity of a cultural foundation from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the foundation’s global marketing and communications strategy.

• Establish a clear, compelling brand identity aligned with our mission and aesthetic values.

• Oversee all external communications, including website content, newsletters, press releases, and social media.

• Create and manage content calendars, campaigns, and storytelling initiatives.

• Lead the development of marketing materials, visual assets, and promotional resources.

• Build and manage a communications team, including future volunteer writers, designers, and social media leads.

• Develop media relationships and seek opportunities for press coverage and partnerships.

• Ensure consistent, high‑quality messaging across all platforms and programmes.

• Monitor performance metrics and continuously refine communications strategies.

• Work closely with senior leadership to support organisational goals and public engagement.

We Are The Lysene Foundation

CHAS runs a number of charity shops locally, selling donated stock as well as new goods to raise the vital funds required to care for children and their families. You will be volunteering within our busy retail team, assisting with important stock room management tasks, the day to day running of the shop floor and providing excellent customer service.

By selling goods in the shops you are directly raising the funds that enable us to support children with a life-shortening condition and their families.

You can volunteer Monday to Sunday, in the morning or afternoon. Shifts usually last for four hours, but this can be flexible. This can be weekly, fortnightly, monthly, and even on a bank basis.

Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

• championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement
• photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection
• You’ll need to be aged 18+ to volunteer in this role. If you’re aged 16-17, you’ll need to be supervised by a friend, family member, or guardian over the age of 18 in order to carry out any fundraising activity.

Time expectation

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments to suit you. You’ll be part of a team raising vital funds while having fun in the process!

As a charity we can continue to help cats and kittens in need thanks to the donations we receive at fundraising events from generous members of the public. Our fundraising event helpers have the exciting and varied role of helping at local fundraising events - such as cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between!

Time expectation

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

Norfolk Tennis is the county governing body for tennis and padel in Norfolk and a volunteer-led Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Charity No. 1203480). We work in partnership with the Lawn Tennis Association to support clubs, venues, coaches and players across the county, helping more people enjoy the physical, social and community benefits of tennis and padel. Our work aligns with the LTA’s “Tennis Opened Up” strategy, which aims to make the sport accessible, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone. Norfolk Tennis is governed by a Board of Trustees supported by a volunteer Management Committee representing clubs, venues and key development areas across the county. As tennis and padel continue to grow, Norfolk Tennis is seeking individuals to join its Board of Trustees and contribute strategic leadership to the development of tennis and padel across the county.

About the Trustee Role
Trustees play a vital role in ensuring Norfolk Tennis is well governed, financially sustainable and strategically focused. Working collaboratively with fellow Trustees and the Management Committee, Trustees help ensure the organisation operates effectively as a charity while delivering meaningful impact for tennis and padel across the county.

Trustees are responsible for:

• Supporting the strategic direction of Norfolk Tennis
• Ensuring strong governance, accountability and compliance
• Providing independent professional expertise and oversight
• Acting in the best interests of the charity and its beneficiaries
• Helping ensure resources are used effectively to support tennis development

Trustees attend periodic Trustee meetings (typically online) and may attend Management Committee meetings where helpful to maintain alignment between governance and operational delivery.

We are particularly interested in individuals who can contribute leadership or professional expertise in the following areas.

Governance & Charity Law Trustee
To support strong governance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, Norfolk Tennis is seeking a volunteer trustee with expertise in charity law.

This role focuses on providing guidance on legal responsibilities, governance best practice and risk management to support the organisation’s long-term stability and integrity.

Key contributions include:
• Advising the Board of Trustees on charity law, governance and regulatory requirements
• Supporting compliance with Charity Commission guidance and best practice
• Reviewing governing documents and supporting any required updates
• Providing input on policies, risk management and decision-making processes
• Ensuring the organisation operates within its legal and charitable objectives
• Offering guidance on contracts, partnerships and potential liabilities

This role would suit someone with experience in charity law, governance, legal advisory or regulatory compliance, ideally with an understanding of the charitable or sports sector.

Governance & Safeguarding Trustee
This role helps ensure Norfolk Tennis maintains the highest standards of governance, safeguarding and regulatory compliance.

Working alongside the County Safeguarding Officer and fellow trustees, this role supports the Board in maintaining robust policies, procedures and governance frameworks that reflect both charity law and LTA safeguarding expectations.

Key contributions include:

• Supporting strong governance structures and trustee responsibilities
• Providing oversight of safeguarding frameworks and best practice
• Ensuring appropriate policies and reporting processes are in place
• Advising on governance matters including risk management and compliance
• Promoting a culture of safe, responsible and ethical sport across the county

This role would suit someone with experience in governance, safeguarding, compliance, law or risk management.

Inclusion & Disability Trustee
Norfolk Tennis is committed to ensuring tennis and padel are open and accessible to all communities.

The Inclusion & Disability Trustee helps champion equality, diversity and accessibility across the county, supporting initiatives that widen participation and remove barriers to involvement.

The role includes:

• Supporting Norfolk Tennis in embedding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) principles
• Championing inclusive participation for disabled players and under-represented groups
• Advising on inclusive programme development and community engagement
• Supporting initiatives linked to the LTA’s Open Court disability tennis programme
• Helping identify partnerships with organisations supporting inclusive sport

This role would suit someone with experience in EDI leadership, disability sport, community engagement, education or inclusion policy.

Who We Are Looking For
We welcome applicants who bring professional expertise, leadership experience and an interest in supporting community sport.

Experience in tennis is not essential.

We particularly welcome individuals with backgrounds in:

• finance, accounting or investment
• governance, compliance or safeguarding
• equality, diversity and inclusion
• disability sport or community engagement
• commercial partnerships or business development

Most importantly, we are looking for people who bring sound judgement, integrity, collaborative working and a commitment to supporting tennis across Norfolk.

Time Commitment
The role is designed to fit alongside professional and personal commitments.

Typical involvement includes:

• periodic Trustee meetings (normally online/Zoom)
• monthly (or every 5-6 weeks) Management Committee meetings (normally online/Zoom)
• periodic engagement on strategic matters within your area of expertise

Description

Our small charity delivers awareness campaigns and a range of support services to patients, relatives, partners and carers who have been affected by a debilitating chronic condition; Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). We are urgently looking for 2 experienced email marketing volunteers to join our communications team.

You will be a big link to our charity's clients who are vulnerable and isolated, to them learning more about events, our latest articles, fundraising events as well as ensuring they are aware of the services that we offer that be of help to them. You will also be helping us to raise awareness of this devastating chronic condition.

Even though we are a small organisation we have big ideas and having regular contact through emails and newsletters will show consistency and know they can rely on us to be there for them.

We would like the volunteer to help with:

• Email content: Develop our communication & marketing content calendar, write compelling regular email content, including calls for donations & support, that is relevant and has clear a call-to-action and high click through rates;
• Email content (membership): Create a regular email newsletter for our membership scheme
• Create a number of automated email series - for donors, members, fundraisers and more
• Newsletter strategy: Help us plan and articulate how we can use emails and newsletters to strengthen our organisation, motivate our supporters and communicate with our sponsors;
• Design and implement campaigns and promotional activity

What are you looking for in a volunteer?

We are looking for 2 volunteers who have:

• Strong writing and editing skills
• Good communicator
• Good computer skills and a willingness to be contacted via email and/or video chat
• Experience using email marketing software - specifically Mailchimp
• Marketing skills
• Experience of working on marketing strategies
• Ability to quickly understand the needs of our team, organisation and our services users (we are not expecting you to know about the condition we support)
• Can ask key questions to enable us to clarify requirements
• Understands the resource constraints of a small charity and is able to work with these
• Open to feedback
• A passion for marketing and email marketing
• Ability to work flexibly on your own or as part of a team with enthusiasm and commitment
• Ability to create email campaigns with little supervision (after initial support)

What impact will the opportunity have?

You will be joining a small charity during a challenging period and your expert knowledge and experience will be invaluable to our success. You will have a key role in ensuring we reach the patients, relatives, partners and carers who are in need of our support and inclusion on a regular basis. With your help we will expand our readership to ensure more people are aware of this condition, which will help those affected by it when they see a health professional.

A bit about this role

As a charity we can continue to help cats and kittens in need thanks to the donations we receive at fundraising events from generous members of the public. Our fundraising event helpers have the exciting and varied role of helping at local fundraising events - such as cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between!
 

You can expect us to

What we need from you

You'll be

• help set up and/or man stalls at events
• help on collection days like supermarket collections events or street collections
• help at fundraising events such as quiz nights, cake sales and dances
• promoting a professional image of Cats Protection at events

Time expectation

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

Community and Fundraising Volunteers play a vital role in raising funds and awareness to support mums experiencing perinatal mental health challenges. This is a friendly, hands-on role where you’ll help plan, prepare, and deliver fundraising and community engagement activities. From supporting events and running stalls to chatting with supporters and sharing information about MumsAid’s services, you’ll be an important part of a welcoming and supportive team. 

No previous experience is required — just enthusiasm, reliability, and a genuine desire to support mums and their families. 

What will you be doing? 

• Supporting the planning and delivery of fundraising and community events, such as charity stalls, coffee mornings, sponsored activities, and awareness days. 

• Helping to create a lively, positive, and welcoming atmosphere at MumsAid events. 

• Engaging with members of the public, supporters, and participants, celebrating their involvement and encouraging donations. 

• Talking to people about MumsAid’s work and signposting to support where appropriate. 

• Assisting with event set-up and pack-down to ensure everything runs smoothly. 

• Handling cash and card donations responsibly, in line with MumsAid procedures. 

• Helping to raise awareness of perinatal mental health and the importance of early support. 

• Being part of a team that helps make MumsAid events inspiring, inclusive, and memorable. 

• Following MumsAid’s policies and procedures, including health and safety and safeguarding, to ensure events run smoothly.

• Enthusiastic and positive, with a willingness to get involved and encourage others. 

• Comfortable chatting with people from a range of backgrounds. 

• Able to work as part of a team and follow guidance from staff. 

• Reliable, punctual, and committed to agreed volunteer shifts. 

• Comfortable being outdoors in all weathers when required. 

• Able to stand for several hours or bring something to sit on if needed. 

• Able to travel independently to event locations. 

• Supportive of equality, diversity, and inclusion, and respectful of confidentiality and boundaries.
