London, Greater London
Pro bono
Voluntary, Quarterly board meetings
Job description

Our partner is a small justice reform charity, committed to creating a fairer, more transparent, effective and humane justice system, by generating original research, influencing public opinion and lobbying practitioners and politicians.

The charity currently has nine trustees, one of whom (the Treasurer) needs to stand down for family reasons, presenting an exciting opportunity for the new post holder to oversee financial matters. The organisation's finances are in a strong position and the Treasurer will help to ensure and maintain their sustainable future.

The Treasurer will liaise with the Director and Chair to ensure that appropriate financial controls and procedures are in place, and are complied with, and advise and report to other Trustees at regular intervals on the financial health of the organisation. They are looking for someone with strong, practical financial skills and an ability to communicate clearly to other Trustees about key financial matters, budgets and funding.

You will be required to attend approximately four Trustee meetings per year, some in central London and some online, and spend approximately one hour per month liaising with and overseeing the Director and Chair.

Please note that this is a voluntary position and therefore unremunerated.
