Admin Volunteer Roles

Are you a people-person? Looking for a way to give something back to your local community? 

We are looking for volunteer receptionists to help meet and greet visitors (including children, families, supporters and external guests) at Claire House Liverpool (based in West Derby).

Tasks will include:

• Monitoring the door and using the phone to let visitors into the site
• Accepting deliveries
• Answering queries
• Signing visitors in using the guest book
• Providing refreshments (e.g. making them a cup of tea/coffee)
• Re-stocking refreshments
• Clearing away equipment after use (e.g. placing used mugs in the dishwasher, wiping down surfaces)
• When required, picking up deliveries and supplies such as milk, pre-ordered lunches etc.
• Assisting staff in setting up and preparing rooms/equipment
• If suitable, supporting teams with admin tasks

You’ll help to make sure every visitor receives the best welcome and experience possible.

We’re looking for someone who takes everything in their stride and is able to put others at ease. Volunteers should be friendly, personable and empathetic. Experience in reception, customer service and/or in a clinical environment would be helpful, but isn’t essential. Volunteers should be comfortable using IT (including operating our phone system).

This opportunity would be best suited to someone who is happy to be busy but also understands there may be quieter times. You should be flexible, adaptable to change and a good communicator. We’re looking for confident and reliable team player.

Time: Weekdays, 9am-5pm (flexible shifts available within these times). We’re particularly looking for volunteers available on Tuesdays.

Worked as a senior fundraiser in a charity with a range of public fundraising methods, and are used to setting targets and reviewing the effectiveness of different streams of income.

We are looking for talented, articulate people to join us as grants fundraising volunteers. 

As our work develops, we increasingly need to ask funders to support our work – and we could do with some help with creating our smaller grant applications. 

We are looking to grow our activities for children aged five and upwards, new sessions for adults in the community and our youth support coaching programme. We also need funds to help our residents with food and hygiene items – including ‘welcome packs’ for everyone who comes to live with us.

Joining us as a grants fundraising volunteer will involve you in having a small group of trusts and grant-makers to apply to, using our established budgets and cases for support, and – where your applications are successful – providing written and visual evidence to report back on how we’ve spent the money. We are looking to recruit a Group Coordinator for our Stockport and South East Manchester group. As our local Group Coordinator you’ll take the lead in making sure your local group works as effectively as possible. You’ll recruit, induct and support other group volunteers to make sure your group’s activities meet the needs of your local MS community. The purpose of the role of Lifelites’ Honorary Secretary will be to create and maintain registers to enable the Trustees to review and update governance, statutory, and regulatory policies and reports, and to file them with external agencies as required. Status

The Honorary Secretary will be a volunteer and not a Trustee.  They will have no responsibility for deciding the content of policies and reports but may advise the Trustees on the basis of their knowledge and expertise.

We are seeking a committed and detail-oriented Volunteer Archivist to join our team. As a Volunteer Archivist, you will play a crucial role in preserving, organising and maintaining our archives, encompassing both digital and physical assets.

Our archive and library are permanently housed at our London Office. This role would suit someone working towards an archive or record management qualification, with an interest in social and cultural archives and history.

Main Duties

• To assist in maintaining a comprehensive archive and library encompassing both digital and physical assets representing the rich history CPAG.
• Collaborating closely with the Office Manager and CEO, your role will involve developing an efficient and user-friendly framework for the ongoing management and preservation of the archive.
• Listing, describing and boxing records.
• To develop a basic ‘collections policy’ outlining future collecting and simple archiving procedures for organisational maintenance.
• To use your knowledge of archiving processes to support staff with cataloguing archive contents.
• To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required.
• This includes applying archival principles and standards, enhancing the archives research and historical value.

Commitment
The role requires a minimum commitment of at least 3 months, 7-10 hours per week during our working hours (Monday-Friday, 9.00am to 4.30pm).
