Locks Heath, Hampshire
Job description

Age Concern Hampshire (ACH) is a well-respected charity offering advocacy and services for older people across the County. Our greatest asset is the spirit and commitment of our 360 volunteers and 150 employees. We are Hampshire’s main provider of the specialist day care that is so crucial to continuing residence at home for some of our most vulnerable older people often by creating vital respite for their carers. We also provide support through our volunteer village agents plus a range of other community based services including foot-care, clubs, dementia support and assistance with hospital discharge.

Changes to the board and executive team over the last two years have brought renewed energy and skills. Our highly committed group of trustees comprise a range of professional backgrounds and specialist knowledge but to share the work and consolidate the charity as it moves forward we need to add to our numbers and broaden those skills. We are therefore looking to recruit up to four new Trustees ready to commit their energy, enthusiasm and expertise to this incredibly worthwhile challenge.

The areas of expertise and experience we particularly seek to reinforce are:

  • Fundraising, particularly in grants applications, legacies and donations

  • Marketing and media - including social media

  • Legal - including contract and company law

We would also welcome applicants with an interest or professional background:

  • Innovative use of technology in social care

  • HR and particularly volunteer support and recruitment

  • Service developmentor delivery in health or social care
