How long and how often:
Once per week (Monday –Friday), between three to five hours, on an on-going basis, ideally to commit for a minimum of three months.
Why we need you:
We are looking for a volunteer to help with our Dementia Directory. The directory is our comprehensive, easy to use online support services directory for anyone affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Bristol Office, Verona House, Fishponds
What's in it for you:
You will be able to use and build on your existing skills and experience. You’ll become familiar with our Customer Relationship Management database (Salesforce) and being involved in the voluntary sector. Your support will help the Society meet its aim of giving people affected by dementia greater choice and control.
The role will suit you if:
- Are comfortable with the basics of MS Office and the internet
- Willing to learn to use our Customer Management database (Salesforce)
- Are detail oriented and enjoy researching and gathering information online
- Have good written and verbal communication skills
The impact you'll make:
By helping us keep the directory up to date, you will help connect people affected by dementia to support services that will enable them to live well.
Making first contact with service providers by phone/email to assess if a service is appropriate for the directory and/or our internal database
Researching services that are appropriate for the directory or organisations that could promote the directory.
Making follow up phone calls/emails to service providers
Collating survey responses carried out once per year
- Assisting with usability testing to help ensure that our services are user friendly
Learning and development:
You will receive training on our Customer Relationship Management database (Salesforce) and data protection. You will also be provided with opportunities to build upon your MS Office, customer support and information research skills.
What can you expect from us:
You will be supported by the Dementia Directory Officer. You will also receive on going one-to-one support. Agreed out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed, such as travel.
We ask require two references for the successful candidate for this role.
