Job Description

We are looking for a volunteer bookkeeper for the Awareness Foundation an international, educational charity that works to build peace through education.

We are fortunate that HRH The Countess of Wessex GCVO is our Royal Patron.

Bookkeeper Volunteer

We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper with excellent bookkeeping and budgeting skills and understanding of QuickBooks Online and charity accounting.

Job Purpose

To provide bookkeeping, work with and support the Operations Director and to oversee and prepare budgets. The volunteer will be expected to volunteer once or twice a month

Responsibilities

Undertake book-keeping duties, including keeping records of income and expenditure using the charity’s QuickBooks Online software. Maintain separate detailed records for each separately funded project in accordance with Charity Commission guidelines for restricted funds.

Assist with preparation of project budgets, explain and report project expenditure, recording and reporting.

Assist the Operations Director by issuing finance-related documents.

Prepare monthly management accounts.

Reconcile income and expenditure

Qualities

  • Knowledge and experience of current and fundraising finance practice relevant to voluntary and community organisations.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping and financial management.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks Online.
  • Good financial analysis skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
