Ballet Black are now inviting expressions of interest for a Trustee who will also be our Treasurer. This is a voluntary role, and you will join an established board of Trustees for this dynamic and ambitious company.
The Treasurer is a Trustee member of the Board, who oversees the Company’s financial management, and reports on its financial health. This is a key role which helps the Board to have the assurance needed to take long term strategic decisions and to manage overall risk. The company takes a robust approach to risk management and financial reporting; our audited accounts can be accessed via the Charities Commission website
The Treasurer is the pivot point between the part time finance manager and the Board. Given the size of the staff team, the Treasurer acts as a hands-on guide and support to the finance manager.
The anticipated time commitment is approximately 1.5 days per month. The Treasurer will attend quarterly board meetings, a finance meeting before each board, and an annual away day strategy meeting. There will also be opportunities to attend Ballet Black performances and to engage with the Company’s education programme.
