The Birmingham Centre for Arts Therapies has just had its most successful year ever!
We have a new CEO, new clinical lead and have greatly expanded our Arts in Health movement. To help support and guide the charity in its future successes and to complement this new team and direction for the charity we are looking to recruit several new trustees from a variety of backgrounds.to.
The Birmingham Centre for Arts Therapies (BCAT) was set up in 1993 to provide accessible arts therapies throughout the Midlands and surrounding area. We support adults and children experiencing a multitude of personal issues and trauma to work through a wide variety of issues through multiple arts therapies, all delivered by qualified psychotherapists.
BCAT also runs a successful Arts in Health programme where we take our service out into the local community and deliver therapeutic sessions to those in our community most in need.
We are looking for trustees who are experienced and in their field who can bring something special to our board. You should understand the strategic nature of the role of a trustee and want to help us review how we deliver now and grow in our future. All trustees operate across generic roles within our Board and governance structure but we are keen to recruit specialists in the following areas:
- Charity finances (Treasurer role)
- Marketing - especially social media experience
BCAT Trustees meet approximately 6 weekly during the early evening, via Microsoft Teams. We expect to have at least one meeting being in person each year. The board are also expected to be in regular contact via email and to commit to time that an individual nominates themselves for, such as working groups and events.
If you are interested in finding out more about how you could contribute to the lives of individuals in need then please contact our CEO directly for an informal discussion to learn more about the role of our trustees. To apply: click apply and send a covering letter and CV highlighting your experience, skills and abilities you could bring to BCAT.
